Love this West Texas Country Bar & Dance Club. Great place for a mature crowd, they cater to the local crowd and all out of town visitors. Big dance floor to show off your best dance moves and line dancing. lots of pool tables and a New out door patio area for smokers and non-smokers. Inside is smoke free completely, I don't leave smelling gross. Bartenders are great mixologist and fast. They have an amazing food truck parked outside, Love the brisket sandwiches & tacos. Chances R has a lot of new improvements and there customer service is very warm and welcoming to all, very excited to come back again with Family and Friends, definitely the spot to be Thur, Fri, Sat Can't wait to see more improvements. read more

My friend came from California, her birthday was at midnight and we tried to get in at 11:30, and the manager did not let us in. He didn't even give me my cover charge back. He was very unprofessional and threatened to call the cops on me, just for asking if my friend could get in 30 minutes before her birthday. Do not go here, they will not bend the rules for nobody. The bar had 5-15 people in. This is the worst place I've ever been to. I'd rather go to mesquites. Do not give this pace your money. read more

THEY PLAY THE SAME SONGS OVER AND OVER. They will play over an hour of slow songs back to back then right as you leave they finally play some line dancing songs. They never have a good mix. read more

A good place to go to meet people. Has separated area for smokers with added fans. Usually no cover. Has single senior dance club that meets first and third Sunday nights starting at 6pm with live band. One of the best places to go in Lubbock for evening entertainment! read more

So many Stetsons float around this place I could build a West Texas Igloo! Chances R is your run-of-the-mill country and western bar. They play anything from Clint Black to Usher to Carrie Underwood. The DJ isn't spectacular but always does a great job of getting people on the dance floor. Drinks are usually pretty cheap, but after you bladder fills up, don't expect a high-class bathroom. Eek! There are booths lining one wall and a few high-tops scattered in the main area, and there are pool tables and chill-out places in an area over the corner. Or you can grab your sweetie and lead him to the dance floor to shake your toosh! I wouldn't make a special trip on my list to go to this bar, but after a few drinks elsewhere I won't complain about going here. read more

Chances R ..... You're going to get drunk. Barely have recollection of my night here but know that I arrived with my Aunt, Uncle and Cousin and left with them. This is where the "fun" people go apparently. Do you know they paid for our cab home? Amazing. Dj was like that at a trashy girls wedding reception. This is one of my favorite bars in Lubbock. It is really a unique place and def not one for the hipster looking for some good "get down" music. It is mostly middle aged people and western hopefuls. It by far is a BLAST! If you don't get there early enough you probably will not have a place to sit, but the dancing is really great too. They play anything from Tejano, Country, Rap, and all you can imagine. There are pool tables on one side of the place, a bar in the center and then a dance floor on the other side. I do like that it is 21+ because there are a plethora of places in Lubbock that aren't. It is a really fun time and the drinks are pretty moderately priced. read more

A great dance club for Texas country music, top 20 country, rock, dance music and cumbias . Very diverse crowd ranging from 21 to 71 in age. No cover charge on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. 21 and over only except Thursday night " College Night". Price are pretty good for no cover charge! This place totally kicks butt for dancing and meeting new people. Not really a sports bar though, however they do have the games on three big screen TVs. $1.50 long necks and well drinks from 7pm-10pm every Thursday, Friday & Saturday with no cover charge all night. read more

Too many people were let in, they didn't even card my friend who forgot her driver license. I was designated driver and the one time I decided to get on the dance floor, there was a case of mistaken identity. I was accused of flicking a shot girl's nose with my finger who I never saw?? And was kicked out so me 9 other friends had to leave. Chances R we will never be back again!! read more

Fun bar, great service. It does get crowded after about 10 pm, but they play new, old, and Texas country. Enjoyable bar!

A friend and I had dinner together a while back, afterwards we decided to go for a drink at Chances R. It had been quite some time since I had been there and I was surprised by the crowd already there on a Thursday night. The dance floor was packed and most of the tables taken. We finally located one close to the pool tables and ordered a beer. I noticed right away that there were people of all ages out on the dance floor and everyone was really enjoying the music. We tried to dance once but it was so crowded we decided to play pool. A few games later another couple joined us and we had a great time just playing pool, talking and drinking beer. We left fairly early, it got so crowded and a little loud as the night wore on. The service was great so all in all Chances R is the place to go. read more

Was listed as "sports bar" and my low rating reflects its poor fit in this category. They have a few large projection screens that are mostly burned out. If this was instead listed as a smoker friendly "honky tonk" I'd have reviewed it at 4 stars. Not at all what I was looking for but would be a fun late night dancing hangout. read more

We got kicked out for dancing. Older gentleman and lady kicked us out and told us to never come back!!!! Filing a petition and contacting manager ASAP. I have been a loyal customer and this is ridiculous. Do not go on Sunday nights. This is a shame. Paid $6 cover for four people and paid $26 for four drinks. Disgrace. Never coming back again. Been going the Divorces-R for a little while now. Positives - The place packs up. Rarely do you see any trouble started and when it does, mammoth sized security is all over it. Good dance music and roomy dance floor that does get crowded. A decent place to meet older singles in Lubbock and dance. Prices are fair and service is decent. Negatives - Be prepared to leave smelling like an ash tray. The ventalation system is crappy. On any given night the crowd might be full questionable people since they stopped enforcing their dress code and catering to a professional crowd. Too much Tejano music in the mix for a country bar. read more

Pretty decent bar. They always play different styles of music, since so many different types of people are regulars there. The bartenders could do with some attitude adjustments though. If they think you're not going to give them a good enough tip, you're pretty much shit out of luck until everybody else is served first. read more
