The music, bar-tending and ambience are not worth an entrance fee. And with some prejudiced bouncers, the security is unprofessional.

Oh my God. So awful. Cheesy music. Bad drinks. Corny atmosphere. Pretty sure there were 15-year-olds running around. Will never return.

The service and staff make you feel welcome, they're friendly, quick - all the things you could ask for to enhance your experience. They offer it. The location is nice if you're anywhere near the Tech campus area. It's right on Broadway. Parking can be tough if it's busy. There is street parking and a lot, but neither are the most plentiful. The food is the real star though. Their wings are incredible, and they don't mess around with the spice. They can be hot! I love the jalapeño poppers. Where else gives you a real popper and not just a frozen and deep fried version? As for the pizza...I'm pleased to say it's the best part of an already awesome place. It doesn't matter what kind you get, you'll be happy with your choice. The Last Call Pizza deserves it's own paragraph. I think I can confidently say it's my favorite pizza of all time. And the second time I had it, confirmed just that. Look at this description - "Homemade smoky pizza sauce and alfredo sauce, topped with cheese, bacon, sausage, sunny-side-up eggs, and drizzled with our sriracha sauce". It's INCREDIBLE! Can't recommend this place enough, if you're in Lubbock get over here!

I did a take out order and the guy on the phone was really great. I finally branched out and tried the Wook and the QT pie and the cheesy bread. All are solid. The wook is probably my least favorite due to the huge pieces of brie on top but that's because I don't care for brie all that much. Red onions was a nice touch and the chiles are good. QT pie is also not bad but nothing super special. Mexican bingo is still my favorite.

While sitting in the Walmart parking lot researching places near where I'm staying for work in Lubbock, I came across The Funky Door Bistro Wine Room. I'm so glad I did. When I pulled up, I appreciated the ample parking and immediately noticed the unique wine‑glass door handles--such a fun touch. Inside, the décor is warm and inviting with wood accents, dim lighting, and a beautiful display of wines. The upstairs seating overlooking the main floor adds to the charm. The service was excellent from start to finish. I ordered a grapefruit mimosa and an egg‑white omelet with avocado, feta, spinach, and breakfast potatoes with caramelized onions and peppers. I was charged extra for egg whites, but it was absolutely worth it. Everything was flavorful and cooked perfectly. From the hostess to the server, the service and timing were spot‑on. I truly enjoyed my brunch at The Funky Door. Thank you for a great experience.

I often times find myself here when I'm craving a hookah or just want an incredible shawarma, burger, or fried chicken sandwich. I will admit, if you are ordering food the service is a little bit slow so come when you have around some extra free time but the ambience totally makes up for it. It's a very chill place where you can come to study, relax, or just hang with friends. Adam and Mo are genuinely some of the nicest people I have ever met and have helped me through many issues. They care about building a relationship with the customer and not only for specific people but for everybody. The hookah flavors are pretty good as well and the hookahs last a few hours. They also have specials mainly with Indian breakfast cuisine and African lunch cuisine. The gizzard, Jollof rice, and chicken drumstick are incredible and I definitely recommend asking about it when ordering. I prefer this place over Vizos not only for the service but I believe the food is better too. Next time you are in Lubbock I highly recommend you stop by the fantastic establishment.

I was back in Lubbock visiting my girlfriend after she had come to see me in Austin the last few times, and we were planning our weekend. I had previously taken her to The West Table to celebrate her graduation, and since we loved it, we knew we had to go back. Last time we went was an amazing experience. We had their arancini as our shared appetizer. She had their Roasted Beet Salad and the Grilled Rack of Lamb, while I had their Caesar and their Cast Iron Seared Duck Breast, which was amazing. We also enjoyed their specialty drinks. This time we arrived for our 7:00 reservation and were greeted and sat immediately. We both ordered a drink to start the night. I started with the Hibi-Jibi, a hibiscus and gin drink, while she had the Peach Ring Margarita. West Table is a farm-to-table scratch kitchen concept, so it's very important that you order all your food from appetizer to main course up front to give them time to craft it at the right pace. The West Table is at the floor level of the luxurious Pioneer Condos. It sits right across from their sister location, The Brewery LBK, and even serves their current brews on location. However, opting for their brews and not their cocktails is a mistake in my opinion because their specialty cocktails are truly one of a kind. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It feels like a ballroom and all the tables are well spaced out. In the back is the open kitchen where you can see all the chefs putting in hard work and mastering each meal. All around, there is great energy. We started with their Roasted Bone Marrow. I was worried about the idea of eating bone marrow since that was something I had never had before, but my girlfriend assured me it would be great. The bones were filled with an onion jam and lemon caper vinaigrette that were placed inside the bone. You could spread the jam and vinaigrette on their grilled bread, which was fantastic as well. It was purposely charred and really added to the jam's flavor profile. We then split their Caesar Salad, and it was a needed divider between our appetizer and entree. Their salad is a good portion for one person, and it was still satisfying being split for two. It was the perfect amount of salad. We got our next drinks ordered to go alongside our main entree. My girlfriend ordered their Fig Old Fashioned, while I got the "C" Monster, a celery-infused vodka drink with a name that sounds so stupid saying out loud that I almost changed my drink after saying it. Can I get the C Monster? WHAT A FOOL. The drink was really solid. The celery flavor was super noticeable, but in a good way. It balanced with the vodka quite nicely. For our main entrees, my girlfriend got their Salmon over Angel Hair pasta, and I got their Pork Chop over mashed potatoes and asparagus. The noodles with the salmon were strong with a very heavy Cajun kick, which complemented the crispy salmon piece, but my pork chop was the star of the show. They recommended it medium, so I got it medium, and it was delightful. Portions of the pork chop were nice and fatty, while others were lean and tender. I was a big fan of its flavor, and the sauce and mashed potatoes really added to it. Perfectly fluffy mashed potatoes. We closed the night with no dessert, but dessert drinks. My girlfriend got The Cold Fashioned (a mix between a smoked old fashioned and coffee liqueur), and I got the Buenas Noches, which mixes coffee liqueur, chocolate liqueur, and orange liqueur. Of all the "nice" restaurants in town, West Table stands alone. It has a price tag but still feels fair. Everything we had was top notch, and I still think they've made the best duck I've ever had. Their waitstaff is attentive and amazing and really sells the experience. At the end of the night, she was happy, I was happy, and West Table proved itself to be the LeBron of Lubbock restaurants. RIYL: Specialty cocktails that make you go "Ooo that's interesting" and some of the best New American in West Texas

That setup definitely changes the flavor of cigars. Cigars 101. They had two humidifiers going with a door open. Cigars from here crack a lot in my experience and require extra time in a humidor to restore them. Lubbock is a town of dirt, wind, and heat. I've been to many lounges in many states, know rollers, cigar brand owners, and lounge owners. It seems that Karma prefers to show off overpriced cigars versus having a smaller humidor to protect them. Their other location doesn't do this. When my friend and I began talking about how she wants to move away from sweet tips to everything else, she said she'd like to see how to do that and asked how my experience was. I began explaining that in almost the 10 years I've been smoking, it took me some time to move on and she should perhaps look into coffee, chocolate, and cream notes. She mentioned how she'd have a lot more variety to choose from if she enjoyed regular cigars. My move from sweet tips wasn't on purpose. It naturally happened. We walked over to the other side of the store where she asked me how to begin trying other cigars and enjoy them, notice the various notes, etc. I began saying, "Well, if you want to transition from sweet tips to everything else, I'd stay off the heavier notes like pepper, maybe stick to a lighter type cigar with the notes I mentioned...". Here comes this short manager who interrupts our conversation to overstep me. "There's no transitioning from sweet tips. If you like sweet tips, stick to only smoking those." I look up like WTF? I was speaking of my own experience and was talking to only her. He hadn't even heard what we were talking about before going near him before he interrupted me. I used to smoke only sweet tips and now? I don't. He's full of sh**. It was so rude to interrupt with this high and mighty attitude. If she wants to move from sweet to a lighter cigar, then she will. You don't need to jump in and tell a customer who's already spent hundreds there that they don't need to. What the? Don't go to this place. It seems I'm not the only one who's experienced this attitude. This is also the same place that has a rumor out of telling people the other lounge in town is snobby but Karma is the place with that attitude, not the other way around. The other place? Welcoming. Absolutely welcoming and kind, no attitude like this place. Apparently, short guy here thinks he knows everything. Find a better place. The only star given is for cleanliness. I'd give another for variety but since everyone else's second hand smoke is tainting the flavor (I bought some cigars to try and taste the smoke destroying the notes of my favorites), variety doesn't matter at this point. Head to the other place.
