I really wanted to like BBQ Country, but this was a disappointment--especially for the price…read more We spent about $60 for a small pork sandwich with mac and cheese and two beef platters with sides, and unfortunately, none of it delivered. The beef was extremely dry and barely even lukewarm. The mac and cheese was dry and completely lacking flavor, and the collard greens tasted like they came from a can or freezer--no seasoning, no depth. My son liked his pork sandwich so two stars for that! Even the coffee missed the mark--bitter, weak, and cold. I ended up throwing it out after accidentally pouring it into my tea cup, which pretty much summed up the experience. It has a truck stop vibe, which is fine--but I was told this was the best BBQ in the area, and it just didn't live up to that at all. I love hole in the wall places that are hidden gems. This isn't that. Serving the food right in front of you is a nice concept, but it doesn't make up for cold, dry, flavorless BBQ. The bathroom was also very dirty, which didn't help the overall impression. Positives: * Large parking lot--great for trucks and RVs * I got to show my son what a pay phone looks like * There are Bibles inside for truckers who might need a little encouragement BBQ shouldn't be pretentious--but this felt more embarrassing than anything else. At this price point, I expect much better. This was a no for me.

The beautiful modern dining room is spacious, warm, inviting, and modern! We were greeted immediately and we're told that we can sit at any table that we would like to! For our families that was huge, because we have an infant in comfortability is key! The food was hot and delicious and they even were able to accommodate my dietary restrictions! This restaurant is definitely a 10 out of 10 for food, atmosphere and service! I would highly recommend!

I was finally able to make a visit to this place. It's in a strip mall along with other businesses…read moresuch as Kohls, Finesse Salon Studios and across from Publix Super Market. Theres plenty of parking and they have a small area for outside seating. As you walked in, there's plenty of seating, they have an open kitchen concept, a side room for special events or meetings (25 people capacity) but it's their mission that caught my interest as cashier/ hostess Lexi explains to me. This company spreads and provides charity catering throughout the community with multiple outlets. Lexi was very patient as she explains how the menu works. I ordered 3 items: 1) Loaded baked potato 2) Fried fish 3) Chicken and waffles. I just wanted to taste the baked potato without any protein on top. I don't know what it was that had an off taste, maybe the butter. The potato itself was soft topped with cheese, green onions and a little bland. The chicken and waffle were tasty. The fried chicken wasn't as crispy as I would like it but it was well seasoned and the waffle was soft. There are so many options for your sides. So for the fried fish, the appearance looks delicious but it was very thin and dry. Even with the tartar sauce it was still dry. I was really looking forward to it. The sides I selected were fries and hope cakes (which are sweet corn bread). Their beverages are on point, I got their lemonade and sweet tea. Lexi was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant is only opened on Fridays-Sundays for regular business but since they do multiple catering events, they are open 7 days a week. They also offer Sunday brunch between the hours of 9a-3p which the entire dining room is open with mocktail and coffee station. There isn't a buffet during the brunch but a la carte off the menu. I would make a return visit to try their brunch menu in the near future.

It did get really busy as we were there and our food took a bit. I think a few people also ordered online for pickup so the order stuff was getting made was unclear. I ordered a smashburger and it was great. Nothing too crazy but very delicious. My brother got the chopped cheese and enjoyed it. The best part was something that we ordered to share, the Chapli Chopped Cheese Loaded fries. It wasn't on their menu boards yet but I had seen it on their instagram and had to try it. It was delicious! I would definitely come back and get those again. It had a great flavor, the sauce was delicious, and the fries were still relatively crispy despite the amount of sauce and toppings. Overall, a great spot that I would recommend to others and will definitely coming back soon!

I know they want to drizzle a zig zag for aesthetics (makes it look really good haha), but the sauce ends up taking over the entire flavor. If they could put less sauce by default I would definitely give this place a perfect rating. I'm in between a 4 star and 4.5 star for this place. Maybe I'll come back one day to try it again and up my rating!

Champs Chicken is a hot food counter located inside of the CPC - Culpeper Petroleum Cooperative - a combo gas station and convenience store. I was planning on ordering a custom breakfast sandwich - but when I asked, they stated they were all out of "breakfast" food supplies. I wanted to order a Bacon, Egg, &Cheese biscuit - with extra Bacon & Cheese; and a Sausage, Egg, & Cheese with extra Sausage & Cheese. But could not due to them running out of breakfast food supplies. I ended up purchasing one each of their standard pre-made Bacon, Egg, & Cheese and Sausage, Egg, & Cheese from the warmer. They were good, but still disappointed I could not get custom made orders. #ChampsChicken

Yeah, we stop for coffee and see the fried chicken, fish, shrimp stand towards the back and we ask the cashier if it's any good. She highly recommends and says they bread and fry it onsite everyday. OK...we are kinda hungry so we give it a shot. Fried tenders and shrimp to munch on as a snack in the car. We pay and head back on the road. As we dig in we discover tasty, fresh chicken tenders and shrimp with a nice peppery seasoned crunchy exterior with little grease. Man, these are tasty. The whole family loves it. Can't wait to stop by again on our next trip to Cville. We've all been talking about it. Don't let the outward appearance fool you...they make some delicious fried morsels here. Make the stop! Final note: I will say you should ensure you stop by around peak times. We came by around 2:00pm and the tenders lost its crunch vs when we got a fresh batch.
