Currently committing fraud against family :D Saying our payment for the contract extends month longer than stated on the contract Refuses to let us see said contract on their end Demands we are wrong and says to just pay Refuses to make further contact or make an appointment to speak with us in person or on the phone Blocks our number Oh, and about the school itself (A McDojo): Forces family into a contract that you must pay even if you decide martial arts isn't your thing anymore. Favoritizes certain students based on wealth or popularity Instructors are typically black belts who are only 3 degrees or under, and staff previously taught a student (me) who was a higher belt than them, could not teach anything new, and cant trick. Staff are rude and power tripping, despite being less of a belt rank than a student (me). Staff threatens students (Family) by lashing out during sparring class, when an opposing student is knocked down and mildly injured, but crying. Context: They slipped and fell. Teachers do not know the material or curriculum they are supposed to teach. Instructors bribe students and family during ticket events, saying to give a 5-star review on their website for a chance to gain a prize. Staff are unproductive in the office, and learn a curriculum during the class they "teach" Instructors fail to learn any trick above slightly advanced, trying to teach students how to backflip despite not being able to do one themselves, and not knowing how to teach them to do one. The highest trick they know is an Ariel, and almost all of them can't do or teach a 540 kick. Attempts to peer pressure you into a separate program where YOU pay money for YOUR KIDS to teach and learn to teach in class. Another program is a DEMO TEAM that DOES NOT do any demos or competitions. Another offer is to pay money to advance a student to the next rank immediately, WITHOUT learning the skills needed later on. Refuses to admit any students into WSKL (Wisconsin Sport Karate League) Tournaments. However, you do not need approval to enter, just a dojo name. Refuses to expose students to the martial arts world, or advertise WSKL tournament to grow student skills. Uses Outdated curriculum for tricking, with videos from 15 to 20 years ago. Student discipline is low, and instructor YELL at STUDENTS who are black belts despite not teaching any sort of discipline or good form. DO NOT go here, especially if you want to progress in martial arts. read more

After multiple lies from the owner Shane and the head instructor about getting my money back or having the overpaid amount transfer over to the following months until the credit ran out after my son received a grant I never received the overpaid amount back and the overpaid fees were never transferred to the following months as credit. I was told well that's the amount that you were paying before and I'm glad that we caught he the problem now so that it could be fixed. Mind you the owner requested bank statements of the over paid amounts that I did provide. Also I was promised that my account would be closed and that additional money wouldn't be taken out and promised a written form stating this that I never received and the promise of closing my account never happened either. This place is full of drama on top of the lies that I was told over the years. I would never recommend this place. This is the worst company ever read more

This review does not come lightly, or without extended experience. The one star review is being kind. Our child trained at this dojo for nearly four years. The last 1.5 years were miserable. Locked into a very lengthy contract, we continued. In the beginning, as many have stated, there were nice positives. As the years went on, the teachers continued to turn over, and the quality got to be less and less, despite top dollar fees. This institution is focused on the dollar, and not the student. The sportsmanship, respect and honor the instructors/leadership preach on the floor does not follow them off the mat, or when visiting as guests at tournaments. I am highly disappointed, and sadly, do not recommend this school. I wish I were able to give a glowing review, however, time after time this school failed us. I would not wish our experience on anyone, and feel very sad that our child observed and experienced what they did. I hope they learn to focus on what is important: The student, The sportsmanship (on and off the mat), and customer service. It all needs MUCH improvement to be worthy of top dollar tuition. I would definately Not recommend seeking martial arts training here. We have gone there since our son was about five. We only plan to continue because we paid for three years in advance. The business had two locations when we joined. They closed down the location that we originally joined. We signed the contract and paid for three years believing that we would continue our sons training at our original location. The owner did not advise us, despite knowing at the time we signed, that our location was closing. It really seemed like an act of bad faith to take our $4000 without telling us of this news. The business lost three instructors within a 2 year period and has not been interested in or able to replace them. The new facility has a smaller training area, a smaller area for the kids to get ready in, far bigger classes, only one instructor with any teaching experience, and inconvenient and limited classes. The classes are so large that there is little to no individual attention paid to students. When training in weapons classes there is no ability to actually properly train due to the ridiculously small area each student has. When using the bow staff kids couldn't even extend the staff half out in any direction without hitting another kid. There remains one instructor for the entire school. It's saddening because my son truly loved the former location and instructors. read more

12 years and in the end, one big disappointment. Grateful for the skills my son learned but what started out as a great & positive experience turned into a nightmare for our family. All about the money. Any way they can get it. We encountered great instructors through the years, but once the "leadership" stepped away and turned full blown money hungry, so did the entire program. There was no longer respect or integrity shown from the owner who pays his employees as little as he can con them into, fast tracks his instructors to gain (black) belt rank without any actual training (wanted my son to test for 4th degree a year early without having any training and by learning his forms via youtube videos) , and traps people into lengthy contracts by refusing to let kids go past a certain point or train in other mediums unless you sign one. It's all for show. One of his instructors has verbally attacked co-workers and threatened physical violence against co workers AND clients while the owner has done nothing and while said employee continues to teach values to young kids he doesn't show himself. It's been over a year since we left and I am still to this day, saddened, disgusted, and shocked by the lack of integrity, loyalty, appreciation, and respect the owner and certain employees have shown. 5 full time staff (head instructors & program directors) gone in 2 years should have been a hint things were bad (from top down) but when you spend 12 years investing in something you believed in, it's hard to see people in their true light and want to believe in the good you once knew was there. When someone disappears, all you get is "They were sick." All you are is dollar signs or "numbers" as the owner puts it. They sell a line a bs that's easy to buy and then it's all downhill from there. Feel sorry for the good employees and students still there. Don't waste your time or your money. What skills your kiddo may learn, I promise, is not worth the headache they will inevitably put you through if you're lucky enough to own a pair of bs goggles. They were great in the beginning, but then once they get you roped into a 3 year contract, things change. They are great with their beginner classes, but once you move up the ranks, they focus on the individuals less and less. They run through the drills and moves and forms so fast, that the kids have little to no time to get them down....and they are never concerned with making sure everyone in the class has the moves down properly. My daughter did well with the basic stuff, but once things started getting more and more complicated, they spent less and less time making sure the students mastered the techniques and just kept rushing through them, then start holding kids back from their next belt cause they dont have the proper moves mastered.....because of the lack of teaching skills. And the owner is never around to help out, they are down to one instructor at each location. read more

Starts out great, but ends in complete distrust and dishonesty. I did see changes in my son immediately when he started, because he was given individual attention and was excited to go. However, after 2 years he lost interest and was coaxed into staying by the staff. For the past 5 months since my son has stopped going, I found out my account was going to be charged for the next year and a half! After waiting several months on empty promises by the staff and the owner, I stopped payment through my bank, but still have not been refunded money for the months charged when he didn't attend. They certainly want your money. I have asked several times for a copy of this so-called contract and written policy, of which I have NEVER seen. That's because it doesn't exist. And that's why I do not get responses from them. Be careful and do your homework before considering this school! read more

Championship Martial Arts has been wonderful for my son and I. He was a quiet shy individual who didn't open to others or try to make new friends. Championship encourages and helps build confidence in their students. Now my son is holding conversations with others, making new friends, and helping out others in class. He really enjoys coming to classes and even practicing outside of class. All of the instructors are phenomenal and very supportive. They even take the time to get to know the parents too! I enjoy going to classes with my son because I have made friends too with the other parents. read more

CMA cares about your kid as a whole. They don't just focus on the martial arts but they also focus on the behaviors outside of class that qualify someone to become a black belt and a leader. read more
