Most classes are offered in studio and streamed via Zoom. I really enjoyed the chair yoga and Yin classes, which are difficult to find, offered on Sundays. I live in a different state and when Covid hit, the streaming classes were a lifesaver during lockdown! I've been "in studio" a couple times since my first visit but continue to take streamed classes a couple of times a week and will continue to do so. Instructors are welcoming and helpful. Responsive to queries. If you are not in the area I recommend registering for the streaming classes.

While he didn't have any bullying issues, the life skills and fundamentals that are also taught with the class have been great! They also incorporate fun activities that keep the young ones engaged. So much so it lead me to join (with some encouragement from my son) I have no prior martial arts background and I'm not getting any younger. However with how the classes are structured I quickly found that to became a moot point. 3 months in and we are both enjoying our classes and even a little competitive fun at home. Just try it.

Ask straight out , if my child has a behavior can you accommodate them? They say it is place for inclusion and enriching summer experiences, but that is only if your child does not have any behavioral issues. Their words, that they understand that summer can present unique challenges in finding a safe and enjoyable program. They should make it known in their literature that they can not support the needs of children who may have behaviors while in the program. It gives families false hope that there is actually a place that "ALL CHILDREN" with special needs have a safe space and a chance to grow and have fun. I understand if they can not adequately provide the service, but then don't advertise INCLUSION AND ACCEPTANCE, when you do not have the support to actually carry through with you written promise. It can be soul crushing to families that think they found a nurturing environment to only once again be turned away and excluded. Which is the opposite of INCLUSION. Be up front with families in your handbook, quit giving false hope. Even worse the effect it has on the child that doesn't have the ability to comprehend being dismissed. After careful consideration, we decided that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu would be the best thing for him, and the choices in the valley are somewhat limited that way. Most everything is Taekwondo... Any who, we checked out Flashback after speaking to one of the owners, Jina. We gave it a week's trial, and really love the fun way coach Jesse and Jina (husband & wife) teach the classes. They are playful and very nice, but firm and expect respect from the kids. It was perfect for my son. There is plenty of 1-1 training too, and great examples, in addition to daily sparing where the kids get to put what they learned to the test. Though we were not able to continue to go due to personal reasons, which was quite unfortunate, I would go back in a heartbeat if possible. My wife and son loved it otherwise. If you have a child (or yourself as an adult) wants to learn self-defense and a martial art's system that will be superior to Taekwondo and other forms of karate, then check this place out!
