That was until last week when a new "Manager" was hired. My 14 year old son and I were working out and she discriminated and harassed me, also went as far as calling the local Police to escort me out! (Humiliated) As I looked around others were wearing the same type and brand shirt which I made her aware of. She stated it looks different on you because it shows more of your chest, "this was discrimination" it's because I have a wider frame body! Unfortunately because of a single employee I'll be moving to another gym along with my wife and 4 children. If you're looking for a gym I would NOT recommend Planet Fitness Appleton WI West!!!!

Predatory business practice!! I was told "the annual maintenance fee will come out 60 days after signing" and the monthly dues wouldnt be charged until 30 days after signing. Those terms provided by one of their employees completely changed once I provided my ACH information. Any calls to corporate aren't staffed and they refer you to your local gym. They have stopped responding to me and have made unauthorized charges to my card. Pretty slimy. Nothing like trying to retain new guests, work with me, or even ask why I wanted to cancel in the first place! Take your business elsewhere! Hot yoga class was staffed by someone with limited experience. Barre class was staffed by a sub. Facilities are clean. Business ethics, basic decency, and responsiveness - abhorrent.

Yet, I am so happy with my choice to switch over to Crunch. You definitely have to find the right times to avoid a crowded gym, but even at the busy time everyone is upbeat and kind. The employees all know me by first name, and became considered friends very fast. With their upbeat words, motivation, and pointers. I appreciate them all tons! Dirty, unmaintained, and messy. Garbages are often overflowing, floors look like they are rarely…read moremopped, and a large majority of the equipment needs some sort of attention. The place was remodeled in the last 6 months, but you'd never know. The new floor is already falling apart, and the layout makes no sense. There isn't anyone posted at the gym, so any concerns fall on deaf ears. And any time something like faulty equipment is pointed out to management, the response is always "no one ever tells me, I didn't know about that". Membership is obviously falling, days that used to be packed with gym goers seldom have more than a handful of people present. If you care about a clean and friendly environment with a staff that cares, this is not the gym for you.
