After careful consideration, we decided that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu would be the best thing for him, and the choices in the valley are somewhat limited that way. Most everything is Taekwondo... Any who, we checked out Flashback after speaking to one of the owners, Jina. We gave it a week's trial, and really love the fun way coach Jesse and Jina (husband & wife) teach the classes. They are playful and very nice, but firm and expect respect from the kids. It was perfect for my son. There is plenty of 1-1 training too, and great examples, in addition to daily sparing where the kids get to put what they learned to the test. Though we were not able to continue to go due to personal reasons, which was quite unfortunate, I would go back in a heartbeat if possible. My wife and son loved it otherwise. If you have a child (or yourself as an adult) wants to learn self-defense and a martial art's system that will be superior to Taekwondo and other forms of karate, then check this place out!

Our son loves it there and I feel that he is in a safe environment. We recently received a call from Mr. Fargen regarding a behavior issue and worked together to get my son back on track. As difficult as those conversations can be, I was appreciative of the fact that he brought it forth so it could be worked on together instead of it continuing and causing issues within the classes. I truly appreciate not only the karate lessons but the life lessons that this facility is instilling in my child.

The thing I liked best, though, is this is a fairly traditional school: no flashy baton twirling, none of that constant kihap stuff you see at tournaments... However, we tried Gladiator Yoga, which was a challenging yet rewarding 60 minutes. Allie was super sweet and helpful for us first timers giving us a lot of options for each move; beginner, intermediate and advanced. Safety first, she provided excellent instruction and focused first on her clients and last on her workout. She went out of her way to ensure she knew the first name of each person in the class. Finally, she refused payment stating that the first class is always free. We will be back, thanks Allie!

Conquer Martial Arts is one of the most innovative martial arts schools in the Fox Valley/Green Bay…read morearea. I've trained there for the past two years, primarily focusing on competitive sport karate, and my skills have improved tremendously because of the instructors and training environment. Conquer Martial Arts has modern training facilities and equipment, including a spring floor, and is staffed by instructors who are experienced state and national-level martial arts competitors and champions. One area I've improved most is tricking--combining karate kicks and techniques with acrobatic movements and flips. Training at Conquer Martial Arts has helped me compete at a much higher level, including earning multiple state championship titles and Top-10 finishes at national NASKA sport karate tournaments. More importantly, the school has helped me grow as a martial artist and deepen my passion for competitive karate. While Conquer Martial Arts has a strong competitive sport karate program, they also have excellent programs for beginners and underbelts, making it a great environment for students at different experience levels. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend Conquer Martial Arts to anyone in the Fox Valley or Green Bay area looking for a karate or martial arts school, whether they're just starting or want to pursue competitive sport karate and take their skills to the next level.

The studio is on the smaller side, but still perfect for class sizes. It's below Ladybug retail shop and to access the studio there's a gate near the register to go downstairs. Before finding that gate I did accidentally open a door to a closet and some other room. ;) The studio is a soothing color palette inside and the added extra touches made this studio stand out. Here are a few of the special touches - yoga mats laid out for you on arrival to class (no excuse if you don't have a mat with you ;) haha), your own bolster, block, and soothing eye pillow for the end of period. Shannon the owner and instructor was amazing. Her voice was super calming the entire class and exactly what I needed after the stresses of moving! I did the Power Hour adult class and the flow of the class was great. I really enjoyed it. I've taken a lot of different yoga classes, but I liked that her flows and poses were unique. The studio emphasizes more on family and parent/kid classes, but even if you don't have children you can attend this Power Hour class. Check it out if you are in Appleton, WI! :)
