My husband and I came learned about Champion Plumbing when we bought a water heater at Home Depot. Champion was the company who installed it, took care of the permit, etc. We were very happy with the installation including the turnaround time, the technicians who came to our home and the inspection process. About a month later, our heater stopped working. It was NOT the fault of Champion, but rather an issue with a manufacturer's part. Contacting the manufacturer was a pain...mainly because they gave me incorrect information about when the heater could be repaired. I was going to be without hot water for nearly a week. Under normal circumstances this would be a huge inconvenience, but we had a serious medical issue that made it impossible for us to be without hot water. Frantic, I called Champion to see if they could help. "Technically" they could not because it was a part that it not kept in stock...but one that needed to come from the manufacturer. In my frustration, I burst into tears on the phone, but understood that there was nothing to be done. Imagine my complete shock and joy when I received a call at the end of the day telling me that Champion's General Manager Troy heard about my phone call and was going to come out personally the very next morning to get the water heater going. And he did just that. He arrived early in the morning after a courtesy call from the office to let me know that he was on his way. He was patient with my naughty dogs and he had the water heater going in mere minutes. Yes...I started to cry again when he was here. This is hands-down the BEST customer service I have ever received and I will never forget it. Sometimes we get so used to companies being more focused on their own needs versus our needs, that we forget that there are really GOOD people and companies still out there. I ordered a Rheem Performance Platinum 40 Gal. water heater (to replace my 30 year old Rheem of similar specifications) from Home Depot on Tuesday, FEB 5th during a nasty spell of Minnesota winter. On their website, I selected their CREW 2 option to take care of all installation and removal items as well as taking care of permits. Installation was set two days out, FEB 7th but it snowed pretty much all day, ultimately putting down an additional 10 inches. Nevertheless, CHAMPION PLUMBING was there - right on time! I shoveled a path and installer Darrell took it from there. He had the dolly, all tools and necessary fittings, drop cloths and booties. He negotiated a townhouse stairway with two 90 degree turns - with no muss, no fuss and no damage! It took about 90 minutes until he was ready to provide overview instructions and information about how I would submit the Permit to Eden Prairie from the email attachment that would follow shortly. The permit was prepaid, so, once again - no hassle! I received the permit and contact info, scheduled the inspection for next week. One and done! I didn't hear a single "crash" sound (with one heater going down the stairs and the other coming back up), nor a single swear word, Not even a groan! My father was a builder, and I earned my way through college with carpentry skills I learned from him. I say this only to add credibility for someone who recognizes and appreciates AN EXCELLENT JOB. It was simply spectacular!!!!! What peace of mind comes from knowing a potentially messy and/or hazardous job is done with such detailed-excellence. Thanks to the entire CHAMPION PLUMBING team - starting with Kristi P who walked me through the heater options to pick one that was immediately available - thereby minimizing delay or extra shipping costs. I was having issues with my water heater for two days. I had to keep restarting the pilot light. I did some research on google to try and see if it was something simple. After doing the research, I found out that the thermo-coupler was bad. I was referred to Champion plumbing. I gave them a call and asked to schedule an appointment. Nick arrived in a very timely manner. He took a look at it and did a few things and also stated that the thermo-coupler seemed to be the problem. We got the pilot re-lit and it seemed to work. He did state that if that does not work, we would need to get it replaced. Like clockwork (20 Minutes later), the pilot went out again and I gave them a call and Nick was available and loaded a water heater onto the truck and headed back to my house. The install was done in less than 30 minutes. All of this was done in the same day. Extremely happy from the first call to the completed installation. I discovered my 17 year old Rheem hot water heater sprung a leak so water was all over the basement furnace room late Thursday night. The only way to stop the water from leaking was to shut off my main water valve so not having running water was not acceptable. After a few hours of sleep and a good Home Depot website, I found another Rheem model similar to my old one. I called Home Depot early Friday morning. IO told them I wanted to buy today as long as they could install it today. They had me call Champion and although they said their Friday schedule was booked, they promised to make room for my installation later Friday afternoon. Cole Eckhoff, their 8 year plus Journeyman Plumber shows up and in less than an hour the new water heater is installed, the floor was cleaned and the old unit is in his truck. I had a 50 gallon gas water heater replaced by Champion Plumbing and found the experience to be excellent. On the scheduled day I was contacted by the company providing a time window for the installation as well as a follow up call when the installer was in route to my house. The installer, Sebastian, on arrival reviewed the job and explained how he would proceed with the removal and replacement. Sebastian was very professional in his approach and explanations. During the process he was very neat, tarps covering the entire pathway to prevent water leaks from the old heater getting on floors or carpets, and exhibited great attention to detail. In the end the installation looked very professional, neat, and clean. Before leaving Sebastian went through operations of the heater and made sure there were no questions. Champion was sub-contracted through Home Depot for a hot water heater replacement on March 25, 2020. Adam was very friendly - from a social distance - and completed the replacement in just a couple hours. He installed a shorter hot water heater than Home Depot recommended to avoid having to cut the piping, I guess he had an extra one in the truck. He did identify that I needed to upgrade the vent piping tee going into the wall that was not double-walled and was within 6"of combustibles, that cost an extra $125 ($80 for part). Overall the cost to install a hot water heater is about $250-300/hour at the big box stores and most plumbers. I think it's crazy high, but that seems to be the going rate. I am happy with the quality of the installation and will hold on to their card for future plumbing issues at my house. read more

I would definitely recommend them for any plumbing needs. I did ask in advance what are the circumstances for the price you pay at the end versus what was originally quoted to be different? They said the only thing would be when the tech gets to your house they look up codes for the city which you live and if they have to bring something up to code they will tell you price at that time and you can refuse service before they begin and your not obligated to pay anything. This was a install for a water heater purchased at Home Depot. A Rheem water heater was installed. Conor did the installation, and he did an excellent job. It was a pleasure to work with him on this. My number one requirement whenever I consider a contractor, is if they are willing to educate me on the product and the process. Conor was outstanding. He was friendly, answered all of my questions, and taught me about what he was doing and why he was doing it. Very nice guy as well. In this world of chaos, I found Champion Plumbing. They installed a water heater efficiently and in good time. The water heater they installed (Rheem) takes up less space and is beautiful!!!! They (Dillion, the lead plumber and Cameron) were exceptional in their demeanor. They left the utility room very clean. Excellent experience with Champion Plumbing with a new water heater installation. Arrival was within the time frame given for the service and the job took 90 minutes from start to finish. I had one other local plumbing company that quoted me an all-in price that was over $500 higher than Champion for the same Bradford White 40 gallon 40,000 BTU gas water heater that was installed by Champion. I was extremely pleased with the reasonable pricing and the efficient installation. Protection of my carpeting and other flooring from doorway to the upstairs utility room of my second floor condominium was also highly appreciated. This review is long overdue, but wanted to commend Tanner on his quick, professional, efficient service replacing our hot water heter. Purchased the water heater from one of the big box hardware stores and coordinated the install through them. Didn't know who would actually do the install but consider myself very fortunate that it was Champion. In the future I will contact them directly for any plumbing needs. They were great and had everything installed in about an hour. Also did a really good job of cleanup (which is important to me). Adam from Champion Plumbing was excellent! Our water heater malfunctioned. Adam came out yesterday and replaced the pilot assembly. He didn't have the part on his truck, but he did have new water heaters on his truck. So, he took the part out of one of them to get hot water in my house. He ordered a new part for the water heater on the truck and Champion will take care of that. Wow!! Amazing customer service! In addition, I would like to say there was absolutely no upselling or sales. Adam didn't use those tactics that many other companies do. I was super impressed! Honest service. Refreshing!! We had to replace our water heater and softener. Matt C. stopped by to do the install and saw some issues, so we made an appointment for the next morning for our installation. He arrived promptly and informed us that he figured out how we could continue with our original plan. He had the installation (Gas water heater and water softener) completed ahead of schedule! Mitchell from Champion replaced my water heater. He did an excellent job! He showed up promptly from when I was told he would arrive (he was even a few minutes early). He was thorough in assessing the situation prior to starting the job. There were a couple of valves that had to be added (not part of the original quote) but he was clear as to why these valves were required and was transparent with the added costs (which did not add too much more). I bought a water heater through Home Depot and Champion Plumbing came out to do the installation. The price was competitive and I was very happy with their customer service. A few days later, a part on the water heater connection went out (not Champion's fault), but Troy (the general manager) worked with me and I really appreciate it! He called a restoration company for the water damage I had and even came by later the same day to inspect the water heater himself. We received a call within 24-48 hours as expected and were quoted for the entire job assuming nothing extra needed to be done. Lee arrived on time and was very friendly and professional. My plumber Sebastian showed up on time and explained the new water heater project to me fully before he began work. He was courteous and cleaned up the space as he worked. Upon completion of the job, the area of the basement he worked in was tidier than when he started. They also replied to emails over with weekend during my effort to schedule a Monday install of a water heater.
