    Pretty skyline view

This is a nice park with a lot of trails that are mostly packed which is nice if you have any mobility issues. Parking was easy. If I had any concerns it's that bikers dont really give pedestrians the right of way on the trails so you'll have to move to the side of the paths pretty often.

Champion Park, named, I believe, for a Queen song, is located just about halfway along the 6.75 mile Brushy Creek Regional Trail in the hinterlands between Cedar Park and Round Rock. Another reviewer had it right. It does look kind of sparse. But, I concede that it is great for a couple of target audiences: Gatherings/Birthday Parties for the "under 6" crowd, and decent-sized family gatherings. Originally, I thought the park had a volleyball court that had it's net stolen. But the young ones will love the large kitty litter bo.... errrr.... covered sand pit, where tools can be used to unearth the buried "dinosaur artifacts". The dino-themed climbing area (see pic), set on spongy wood-chip covered ground is also great for that age. And the smallish "splash pad" can cool folks off (with current water restrictions, three days a week) through the summer months. The sturdy stone and sheet-metal covered pavilion is really in two parts. So really, one LARGE party, or two moderately decently sized family picnics can take place reasonably sheltered from the mid-day summer sun. If you have teens in the group, they can "disappear" up the combination crushed granite and paved hiking/biking path that runs alongside the park, exploring the adjacent Brushy Creek, locating poison ivy, and otherwise disappearing for longer than you're probably comfortable with while the younger ones enjoy the inevitable cake and subsequent piñata. It probably could use a full-blown playscape for the gradeschoolers, but maybe that's just part of its charm. Maybe this park is just targeted for the younger ones, who won't feel bullied by older kids stomping around, who will instead go to one of the other nearby parks more age-appropriate for them. 3.62 stars.

Really great place to walk, bike, jog, etc. Definitely dog and kid friendly. They also have kayak rentals! I was impressed with how big this place is and would love to check out what it's like to come out and rent a kayak over the summer. I really liked that there were plenty of benches to enjoy a picnic lunch as well as enough trash cans around to throw things away.

Love this park! They have a great dinosaur bone climbing area, sand area, and splash pad. There are lots of areas with shade for parents to sit, but sunscreen is still needed. This park is right next to another one that has a larger splash pad. They have great trails all around park and nice restrooms for breaks. I would definitely suggest going to this park.

Great Park for the family to enjoy! This park has a covered play area with fake dinosaur bones hidden in the sand box, sand toys, shovels and buckets are provided by the park to allow for great fun for children of all ages. The shaded canopy protects the children from the hot sand and sun. The Discovery Sandpit play area was inspired by the discovery of the Mosasaurus Maximus fossil in 1934 by two University of Texas Students along Onion Creek. The reproduction of the fossil is cast from the original fossil. The reconstructed skeleton is located and on display at the Texas Memorial Museum. http://brigittethompson.hubpages.com/hub/Champion-Park-Williamson-County-Parks-Cedar-Park-Texas

Splash pad, didn't turn it on all the way

I loved it!!! Has nice long trail for bikes or running walking whatever it's nice, also a dry playground fornkids, rock climbing for kids, a splashpads, a sand pit with dinosaur bones and another area where it's Dino bones up on the ground kids can play in. They have bathrooms and a place where u can hose down after a long run, only thing I'd complain about is they need shades for the parents as well. They have a big place with tables n grills, shaded, it's beautiful. We will be take our kids back soon.

This summer, when she was around 8 months old, she had tons of fun in the sand pit and the whale sprinkler area.

You can also walk on the unpaved trail along the water (it's very smooth and stroller-friendly). There is a playground. It's split into two areas for different ages. It's great in theory but I found it a bit lacking. There's a rudimentary playground that's labeled as 2-5. And a crunk playground (3-tiered, with gnarly slides) labeled as 5-12. Don't get me wrong -- this big playground is awesome for older kids. But it's a bit too advanced/scary for a 3-year-old. Meanwhile, the little playground was too simple/easy for her. So there's a middle age that isn't really catered to. But, great for 2-year-olds and 5+. There are also multiple parks with playgrounds within a short driving distance (Champion, Olson Meadows) so you can easily park hop.

The splash pad has a dedicated fenced in area for the water fun, and a nice grassy area with tables and seating. Perfect for a picnic! I love taking walks with my daughters along the lake, admiring the views and enjoying the wildlife. If you're adventurous you can rent a canoe or kayak from the boathouse and take it out onto the lake as well. This park is a beautiful place to spend time on a weekend!

This park is a very popular place for Cedar Park residents because of the huge extensive playscape area for the kids. It also features a pavillion and has well maintained public bathrooms. Everything about this park looks recently built and it appears more construction is coming. There is tons of parking here and lots of covered picnic table space along with some grills. This is the only park I have seen where you'll find zip lines incorporated into the children's playscape area. This place has all the bells and whistles you could hope for, except for a swimming pool. There is a nice paved pathway that runs around the park and continues across the Muir Lake dam (aka Upper Brushy Creek Dam) and includes a large sports field acreage on the opposite side. There's no swimming allowed in the lake and you probably wouldn't want to anyway. However, they do rent kayaks and have a launch point on the lake. In the spring time this park comes alive with bluebonnets and other native flowers. The size of this park is enormous, and is capable of accommodating thousands of visitors. This park is worth seeking out due to all its amenities even if you don't live in Cedar Park. The photos included add much more to the narrative.

Let's start with the cons: it's seriously off the beaten path- there's nothing out there. Bring everything you need- water, food, sunscreen etc. Secondly, there is literally no beach- just rocks, lots of rocks. Lastly, it is not dog, kid, or "out of shape" friendly. You have to climb around and over all those rocks to get to the water. (Oh, and there is a fee per person, if there's someone on duty). Now the pros- it is seriously off the beaten path, which means there's parking and very few people. Secondly, the water is clear and beautiful as are the views. It is near a marina, so boaters give nice waves every so often. Lastly, I loved sitting in my float just listening to the water hit the rocky shore. Very peaceful. I enjoyed it, but it's not for everyone. Let me know if you go- enjoy!
