Just because a hotel puts 3-Star into its own name, doesn't make it a 3-Star hotel. To describe an experience such as I endured over a 5 day stay, I must break the review definitively into pros, indifference, and cons to avoid excessive rambling.
PROS:
- After the cleaning staff leaves human feces folded into your bedding, the front staff will move you rooms, and comp part of your stay and breakfast charges. (pics added)
- Conveniently near the subway, bus routes, markets, bakers, small shops, and a variety of great food cafes within walking distance.
- Any requests for extra towels, pillows, etc are granted no questions asked.
- Free wifi, at standard European speeds
INDIFFERENCE:
- Polite staff when speaking the native language or spending money.
- Breakfast is not included in price, so you will have to pay.
- The variety of foods at the breakfast buffet is fantastic, but you will be waiting upwards to 45 minutes at times for the staff to refill certain buffet items, and you can only hope they made enough for all who were waiting.
- There is an elevator, but its more a service hatch that fits no more than two people with a single bag each. Travel light, or you will be taking turns. Seriously.
- The staff will listen to personal requests, and will heed them, as in not to be disturbed for example. The only issue is that if you didn't tell the entire staff personally, they most likely didn't communicate that with each other, and you will be getting knocks at the door or cleaners attempting to enter.
- There is only one person working the late afternoon until the next morning, so if you require anything, what he can do for you is limited.
CONS:
- A chance you will find the cleaning staff will leave human feces folded into your "cleaned" bedding. (pictures added).
- Food and/or snacks are not allowed into your room.
- The rooms are not just small, they are tiny. The second room I was moved too was so small, I had to shuffle sideways to get to the head of the bed, lest I crawl over the bed.
- The small size extends to the toilets and bathrooms, where you will have zero space for your personal amenities. You will end up leaving your normal bath items like toothbrush, deodorant, etc in your luggage... taking them in only when you are about to use them.
- The bathtub is of poor design when it comes to handling water. I will not only guarantee you getting the floor wet, but more likely you will have a slight flood on your hands. I am not exaggerating or using a hyperbole.
- Noise. The walls are paper thin. You will hear everything in regards to your neighbors, you will hear the staff slamming 'cleaning' or other supplies around, you will hear the locals having drunken fights in the ally. read more
