I came in town for a wedding held here and it was an amazing place. There is a beautiful garden setting where the wedding was held and then you go into the banquet facility. It was almost breathtaking. It was arranged and decorated beautifully. There was a food buffet line and there were servers that came around with trays of food to choose from. I can't remember thee last time I have eaten that much at a wedding. All of the food was very good. The variety was immense and the drinks were strong also. The recent wedding I attended was for good friends of mine, a couple who deserved the very best! The Champagne Palace has been known for it's exquisite atmosphere, decor and beautiful staircases. The couple expected more than was provided during the reception. I have to say, the outdoor wedding ceremony was gorgeous! Incorporating the two cultures was special and memorable to say the least. However, I expected to be on the dance floor a lot more than twice. The staff could have been more experienced & attentive. I had only taken a small bite of my cake and went to dance for the first time to come back to my table and find my cake gone. The servers had thrown it away! When I asked about it, I was told "sorry, we had to clean up and there's no more cake," I was truly disappointed. In addition, I discovered the bride & bridesmaid's dresses were thrown out of the dressing rooms onto the floor. The bridal gown was even placed in a garbage bag and could have been thrown out as trash! This is unacceptable behavior for an establishment that's supposed to offer quality service from beginning to end. I initially said if I get married and decided to have a wedding, this would be the place, but now that my friends have experiences this mediocre service, I wouldn't choose the Champagne Palace. read more

I'll start with my cons they are not really relevant to the wedding just things that I wanted to do that did not come out the way I expected. First my brother cannot do his skit on the dance floor because there is not a wireless microphone system that will allow you to talk on the mic while on the dance floor. secondly I was not aware of the $300 charge $500 deposit for allowing a band to come inside until I closely read the fine print on the contract. ANYWAYS READ YOUR CONTRACT! After visiting maybe five venues in the New Orleans and Covington area, this was the place of choice. The garden is absolutely beautiful the trees covered most of the seating area therefore guest are not totally in the sun during a day wedding. Music is almost on key but nothing to complain about. My wedding was June 2 it rained every day before the wedding and almost the day of the wedding. The wedding coordinator was extremely relaxed and confident she did everything I asked if I wanted a song it played almost immediately the staff communicated with headsets and all request were almost immediate. They kept a drink in my hand as long as I wanted one. The music played as we ask. The facility was extremely clean and neat if someone dropped something they cleaned it immediately. Food was accurate and everyone loved the food drinks. I was extremely pleased with the venue and would definitely recommend this location for anyone planning a wedding. read more

This is a gorgeous place for a wedding, the outdoor area is beautifully decorated and the night time lighting is on point. I do take issue with the fact that the guests were not allowed to go inside because the ceremony took place in the outdoor area. We were made to stand in the parking lot for almost an hour, before finally be led into the place where the ceremony was to take place. It was November and around 50*, so we were all extremely cold. And there was not enough seating for all of the guests. After the ceremony we were forced to stand in line and enter the reception area one at a time, as there were over 200 people attending, this took a while. The food was pretty good, and the reception area was really nice. All of the employees were polite and professional in their manner. read more

As a former bartender I would pour well liquor into top shelf liquor. I warned one of my friends about this and at her wedding all the guests complained that what they were being served did not taste like Crown or Goose liquor. Just attended a wedding here the evening after Thanksgiving and it was so enchanting! How lovely to go from an outdoor well lit and beautifully landscaped, fountain flowing, sparkly courtyard to a modern multi-leveled and spacious indoor space!! I loved the way the staff was so cohesive in making sure every guest was tended to and the bus boys didn't mind refilling drinks as courtesy along with doing their usual duties. The owner and his kids are very helpful and nice considering my husband/groomizlla as asked them to show him the lights for the wedding every time we go there and he ask so many questions every time and they answer him everytime no matter how many times he has asked. they know the business very well and the lighting at night is very beautiful in the garden the candles are well worth it they make sure everything is clean and nice and up to very high standards all the times they make you feel very special and like you are the most important bride. This place is undeniably beautiful. Both the inside and outside are nice. The problem here is with the employees. It seems like it was everyone's first night on the job. They rolled out the white fabric for the bride to walk on, but it was windy. They taped down the front and back, but not the sides so it was flying all over the place. Two minutes and more tape would have fixed it. Before the ceremony started, the microphone had lots of feedback and no one seemed to do anything about it. Then the ceremony starts and no one could hear the pastor. Again, no one steps up to adjust the volume. Once the ceremony is over, we all go inside for the reception. The only good thing to eat was the salad. Everything else (gumbo, jambalaya, pasta salad, fettuccine) was mediocre at best. Finally, there was the cop hired to provide security. I have never seen a cop so rude/arrogant before, muchless at such a nice establishment. The cop actually seemed to be looking for a fight. He was the sterotypical "I'm a cop and can do whatever I want and you can't do anything about it". He literally stopped the bride from going to the restroom so that she could change out of her wedding dress before heading out on her honeymoon. Just to be far, not all the employees were bad. The bartenders and waitresses handing out appetizers were all very friendly. The busboys also stayed on top of cleaning off tables of dirty dishes and glasses. read more

Overall the place is design for a beautiful event i.e. weddings. However, my feelings as the bride is that there is still not enough lighting in the garden for an evening wedding especially for reading- where the minister stands; the music is not loud enough for the ceremony (you want to be able to feel the music not just hear the music); $1000 is a lot of money for 30min. Also the DJ is horrible; a DJ typically hypes the crowd & keeps the party going. Well the DJ is watching the room from a video camera & makes announcements only!!! We (my husband & I) asked many times for the music volume to get turned up- no success. The music volume could be heard but not like on a party level or club vibe...so it's a buzz kill!!! And for a range of $40-65/person your guest are served on plastic saucers, plastic utensils, & plastic cups. Their advertisement is continuous food service- well that means to me that the buffet is continuously stocked/filled until the end & hors d'oeuvres. From the parents & some of our guest perspective, it was like pulling teeth to get food service. I nor my family shouldn't have to beg to get things done. Then the bridal party dinner area closes after the couples' first dance and absolutely no one can go back to that area to sit & eat (even though your bridal party may not be done eating). One would think that if you are paying for the use of the building & etc. that no section of the building is closed. There is only 208 chairs on the main event floor and 22 chairs in the bridal party section- so if you have a guest count of 300 and you take away 22 chairs where does the bridal party go to continue to sit & eat if they want !!!!! As far as the wedding coordinators- I had one that was rude & not attentive; I know this is one of those place that everything is timed & is a process for them, but as a bride, it is your day not a process. I.E.- if i am schedule to do father/daughter dance in 5 min. but I am mingling or taking pictures with guest the coordinator shouldn't have to scream to tell me I have 5 secs until - he/she should cue it once I'm in place to do whatever it is I am to do. I also especially did not like that there was an event prior to my wedding that obviously did not end at the appropriate time. My wedding started at 5:30pm- our arrival time was set for 5:00pm and their was still several guest their from the prior event. What kind of turnaround time do such a place have set. Guest book not in place at time guest enters for reception & trash receptacles not emptied. If you are reading my review & wonder how I remember this...it is because the coordinator assigned to me got me one drink for the entire night!!! Wow!!!! I'm shocked at the two reviews that have been posted!! I, the bride, was treated with the upmost respect. Jay and his family (daughter and son included) made us (bride, groom and our family) feel very welcome and comfortable. I paid my deposit when I signed the contract. Everything was explained in detail and written on the contract. With that saying, I didn't need to call and/or ask any questions because I read what I signed. And OMG, Chris was the best! I couldn't have asked for a better host. He was on top of his game. If I left my glass, he had it. If, my glass went empty, he had it. He made sure that we (bride and groom) was at the different stations when needed. If I needed more time, I told him and he didn't have a problem with it. (And yes it is timed, and I know from being told and reading, that if I go over time for one thing it pushes everything else back.) If I told Chris I needed something, he had it. I was trying to figure out where he was coming from because he was popping up with everything I needed and wanted!!! On to the food, the best tasting food a place like this can offer. Because most venues as such, food is horrible. Not at all here!!! All my guest bragged on the food and how good it was. I don't work too far away from here and I wish that they served lunch plates. The dj was good from what I recall but I was too caught up with the moment. This is an elegant place so I wasn't expecting to bring the walls down with booming music. I guess, that's why I had an after party at a club. The Champagne Palace is a very classy, romantic and gorgeous place. My ceremony was held in the garden. It was hot, but I have myself to blame for wanting it in the afternoon in May in Louisiana!!!!!! However, I was allowed to check out the garden area around that time to see how the weather was going to be. But that day, I got married, had to be the hottest that year. No one can control mother nature. There's, also, a bridal suite for the bride and her party. This suite along with the garden, staircase, balcony, outside by the torch and entrance are all great spots for beautiful wedding pictures. Honestly, I couldn't have gotten a better place, for the price and services. All I had to do was bring in the things I wanted them to set up and pass out a couple of days prior. So that means all I had to do on my wedding day was prep, get pampered and show up. NO STRESS INVOLVED!!!! Who can ask for anything more! I would DEFINITELY recommend this place to a bride! Thanks to Jay and his family for treating my family like we were a part of theirs. Oh and I wanted to comment on the cancellation policy ... they really express the cancellation policy upfront. If anyone doesn't like it, then don't sign on the line. It's a business. Try putting yourself in a business owner shoes before you react! What can I say about this place? It was truly spectacular! I was the maid of honor for my best friends wedding and we both thought the staff did an amazing job! I read the other reviews and can't fathom that they were treated poorly. Our personal experience was so contradictory to theirs. From the moment you walk through the door there are personal attendants following you around helping you every step of the way on that big day. At the end of the night they even had a care package prepared for the bride and groom. These folks didn't miss a single detail. The outdoor courtyard when lit up with candles is simply majestic. The inside decor is original for the area and my personal favorite was the mural with the leopard on the dance floor. I'd recommend this place to all my girlfriends! read more

The place is Beautiful, But the customer service is HORRIBLE!! I sent my mom there to look at the venue for me and to ask questions on my behalf. As I was finalizing my venues, I called to get some last minute details and could not believe the LACK of customer service and the level of rudeness I received. When I spoke to Chris, he was upset that my mom and I asked about the cancellation policy which was one of many questions we asked about the venue. Though this is a valid question, he said, "we were a risk and we were raising red flags." I couldn't believe my ears. He then went on to say that my mom hounded him about this policy. He was not giving details about it as if he was hiding something. Then Chris finally told her that the policy was that you would owe the whole balance regardless of when you cancel. (Which means you willl get your money regardless, so what's the problem?) Then I asked can he send me a contract and after reviewing I would send the down payment (because I live in another state) and he said this was against their policy but that I can send him the down payment then he will send me the contract which didn't sit well with me. Then he ask if I would like Jay, the OWNER, to give me a call and I said yes. Jay called me and we discuss the contract policy and I told him I felt like I was not treated fairly and I was being flagged because I asked about the cancellation policy. He then AGREED with Chris and said you GUYS are a risk and other people come here and look at the place and don't ask those questions. This place sells itself!! Then he put me on speaker phone with Chris and told me he DID NOT NEED MY SERVICE AND DID NOT WANT MY SERVICE. I was appalled. All I can say was WOW!!! All I wanted was a beautiful place to have my Fabulous wedding and he was SO ugly towards me. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. He continued to talk about ALL of the celebrities he had there and how he did not need my service. I have never been treated this way in my LIFE. Jay Polit and Chris was extremely RUDE!!!! The Champagne Palace is an absolutely beautiful venue for your dream wedding. We had our wedding reception in October of 2011. The owners and staff went out of their way to make sure our day was flawless. The Champagne Palace exceeded comparable venues, offering inclusive services to accent that special day. The establishment offered a wide variety of food offerings, carving stations, dessert bar option, and martini bar option. The food quality and selection at the Champagne Palace was world class. The range of foods included crab cakes, crawfish pies, crab legs, oysters, pork tenderloin, filet mignon, pasta dishes, with many other food variety offerings. You must go online and check out the menu for yourself. The Champagne Palace sent us home with several boxes of food and dessert items from that night. This was great because it gave us an opportunity to try items we missed out on during reception. The friendly and attentive staff made sure all our guests were taken care of the entire night. My husband and I each had our own personal host to cater to our every need. We never once had to stop what we were doing to grab a drink because the host was always one step ahead. What I thought was truly unique was even our parents were given their own personal host to cater to their every need. Our reception was a night event with wedding party pictures in the Parthenon style gardens, simply breath taking. The inside of the venue was decorated very elegant with gold linens and candles on every table. The bridal suite was spacious and beautifully decorated. The bridesmaids were able to store their belongings in the suite while the reception was going on. We had a mix of band and house DJ. The DJ played all the music we had pre-selected and even threw in some songs that were appropriate for the night. There was never a break from music being played. Our guests and wedding party danced the entire night away. At the end of the night, the staff made sure that all of the bridal party received their belongings and loaded all our gifts and food into the car.
