I had heard about this place in an article so I decided to try it on my way Northwest from the League City area. First of all, the trains in that area of town blow. There were a ton of stops everywhere. Good news about Eado is that you can work around it if you're quick enough and don't get trapped. An entire train was completely stopped and I was not for that. Parking was easy and you can pull up right in front. Loved the couple who took our order then gave it to us. Ate the fries on my way home and they were hot, crispy, potato-ey and appropriately salted. The burger reminded me of a Whataburger BUT the meat was thicker, tastier, and overall more delicious. Proud to support a local business and we will be back. They have benches outside you can eat at the order came out fast, but also fresh.

I've had this on my "try" list for some years -I always find myself just outside of business hours whenever I'm in the neighborhood. I lucked out last week and made it over just around 10:30. I learned that they served breakfast but I was in the mood for a burger. Here's what you need to know- they take orders in advance. I mention that because there was a steady stream of customers that had already placed orders or were there in person before I arrived that morning. This place is popular. To do it right, I should have ordered a milkshake to go along with the lunch special of a burger and fries, but I wanted to keep it simple because it was so early and I don't usually start my morning off with heavy food. I ordered a burger "all the way" (mustard + mayo, onions) and then added cheese and jalapeños. From my first bite I felt like this is what local Whataburger would taste like. By that I mean, the crispness of the lettuce and onions accompanying you in every bite was incredible. The condiments were not too heavy -because I like mayo, I probably would have asked for a little extra. The burger itself wasn't heavily seasoned which I was okay with but it did have a few pieces of gristle which gave me a panic attack almost every time I bit into one because of my dental work. One of the things I smelled immediately upon getting my classic white paper bag was the scent of the fries. I could feel the warmth through the bag and couldn't wait to get to them. I wish they'd lived up tot my expectations. I felt like they could have used more seasoning and some didn't feel fully cooked to the perfect softness that can be achieved. But I had enough nibbles to be satisfied. If I were to go back I'd prioritize the child cheese fries and a milkshake. Chances are high I will go back. Staff was really nice and they work quickly given all the orders coming in.

Front of champs. I love this place anytime in the neighborhood stop.

What can I say? I love this place called in an order on Thursday for my niece and I ! I had the chili cheese dog. She had the hamburger w cheese and fries and a Dr Pepper. Oh so delicious.!

This place is an EaDo gem and I appreciate the random person that put me on. The lunch spot for champions. The special is more than enough and the fries are a top tier and can't wait to try the onion rings next time. The burger is great and they make small accommodations but no subs. The staff is definitely the family and are so sweet and the service is swift and you can tell they know they have a good thing and no changes need to be made. I love the benches near the window and the back patio is nice with the fans and garden seating. Alrhough the parking is street there is no shortage and the wait feels none existent .

Ordered the double bacon cheeseburger, chicken fried steak sandwich, onion rings, chili cheese fries. The burger and sandwich were huge. The chicken fried steak sandwich was mine, it just tasted like a regular burger. Was hoping for gravy with the chicken fried steak but that's not how it's served. Taste wise it was ok. Bf had the double bacon cheeseburger and he loved it. Onion rings were nice and crisp. Chili cheese fries were the best with ooey gooey cheese melted on top. Overall it was an ok experience. If you get here early in the day (before noon) the line isn't too bad, otherwise expect a long line.

Hear me out! This burger spot is top tier. There needs to be 10 stars available to rate this place because they delivered a quality burger and it was stacked! As an LA native home of the best burger joints on the west coast. Argue with your mama not me! Champ Burger takes the lead of the closest thing to home. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and loaded. I got the champ burger with cheese, bacon, grilled onions, jalapeños, tomatoes and lettuce. No need for a double patty, this is not your in n out size burger the one patty will do just fine. I thought my cousin was exaggerating after the first bite until I tried mine and she wasn't. It was the real deal! All I'm going to say is if you are in second ward stop by and give champ burger a try. Not only is their food good but the prices are great, give good portions and the staff are nice. This is a burger stand vibe so whether you want to eat in the outdoor seating area or take your meal home the Champ Burger team got you! See for yourself and support this business!

Always a line when I come. They all know !

Great classic burger! Big patty well cooked. Eat outside only. Would like better French fries .

Don't let any of those negative reviews keep you from trying this place. You don't stay in business this long with bad food. I had the double champ cheeseburger with jalapeños and fries. Service was great and food came out quickly. Bring an appetite if you get the double.

I had opted for a beef burger with a side of chili cheese tater tots to share. The burger is quite large and filled generously with whatever add-ins you check off so it was very filling for me. I went with two 2oz patties, but considering the size, I'd opt for a single 2 oz patty if I go back. For my burger I also added scallion aioli which didn't have a strong green onion flavor but was still nice and added creaminess to the burger overall. The tater tots were super crispy, and the chili cheese topping was nice. I had gone shortly after they opened and it wasn't super busy but it started to quickly fill up around 11:30-12. The basic burger is $12, and anything you want to add or replace is extra. Now that's including the basic sauce, which I thought would be an additional homemade sauce if I needed. Again, I am learning. I ordered grilled chicken, but at the counter, a very nice person, Eric, told me they were out of grilled chicken and had fried chicken available. I guess so, since I spend some time. I don't want to wait any longer. I also ordered homemade lemonade, which came with lots of ice. I requested that some ice be removed. I also added chard jalapenos, which were tasteless and slightly burned, so they lost their flavor. The food pick-up area was separate, and the guy who gave you a food tray could have been friendlier and said thank you. Oh well, my burger was a piece of chicken with lettuce and onion. It was ok but very dry inside. So make sure you order sauce or anything for your burger, and pay for it. When I got there, the dining hall was empty. I like this place, but plz if you're going there for the first time, read the menu carefully and place your order. Service could be friendlier, and the dining hall was clean.

I went with the Double Good Burger at Johnny Good Burger, and honestly... it was surprisingly good. Perfectly smashed patties with those crispy edges, juicy inside, and well-balanced flavors that didn't feel overcomplicated. Sometimes simple just works--and this definitely did. The fries deserve their own shoutout: extra crispy, hot, and downright addictive. No soggy sadness here. I kept telling myself "just one more" until the tray was mysteriously empty. All in all, a very satisfying burger experience. If you're in the mood for a legit smash burger and happen to be wandering POST Houston, this one's absolutely worth stopping for.

There were no other customers at the time, but that's to be expected for a slow Monday. The menu is quite simple with just 4 different entrees, 3 different ways to order fries, and a few soft drink options in a cold case. Everything here is a la carte but there is a combo option where you can save about $3 off the regular menu pricing. I chose the "Double Good" and added a patty for $3 more figuring the patties are most likely very thin. The burger comes with lettuce, onion tomato, pickles and special sauce. I subbed the American for Swiss, but the Swiss ended up being a Swiss-American blend, so it tasted mostly like American cheese which I hate. I keep having bad luck with Swiss lately. The patty is about 1/4 lb and tastes similar to a home cooked burger. I ended up setting the burger down and just eating the patty with a fork since I didn't like the taste of the cheese, sauce, or the entire burger as a whole after a handful of bites. Overall, I'm glad I finally tried it but this is not a burger I would come back for, especially at this price point.

Clutch City Grill sits next to Burger Chan (the most recent title holder of best burger for my son) but this Sunday, they were not open so we tried the one we didn't try last time--CCG. And let me just say that this place tucked away inside a collective indoor food concession aka The Conservatory Galleria, has every right to boldly don the clutch city burger title. Inside this perfectly grilled almost Hawaiian role type hint of sweet homemade bun is a masterclass of burger perfection, made right in front of you and to your liking based on your selections from the order tap screens. While, waiting, I looked at everything I didn't order as it was being served and I'm almost certain that anything you order at CCG is delicious. Presentation is superb because others were sitting with large selections in front of them that caused me a bit of buyers remorse--I couldn't decide. The vibe is chill enough to talk to the grill master while my son was figuring out his massive burger order--he randomly had a hash brown added to a patty melt. And ordered something to take home or in case one order wasn't enough for the teen appetite. But the food is massive. I cannot stress that enough. Portions of everything there are beyond generous from what we saw and this is the kind of place where there's delivery guys picking up, people working on their laptops and the average joe grabbing takeout after work as well as families having dinner but not crowded. We sat and reflected on a great shopping day in a chill environment and reminisced on the old days of Galleria area last minute back to school night before/we should do this more type of memories in the making. The take something to go plus my own leftover (cutting the burger in half is an open from the order touch screen) and it passed the ultimate test of being really good cold the next day. This place begs the question--where is everybody? I can't be the only one who knows about it. But also was inviting enough to silently confirm that I think we've found our place. Similarly to their more popular location in Memorial (#2), this outside of this Bellaire spot doesn't immediately tell the full story. The interior has an industrial vibe, with the high ceilings and overhead fixtures, but as converted into a solid dining space. The large tilted mirrors in the main area are reminiscent of the now defunct Helen's (#3) and makes for a fun (or perhaps distracting) visual. The spacious layout allows breathing room for all kinds of groups. Service has been good overall, and prompt throughout every visit. The American bistro inspired menu has a decent amount of variety that spans from brunch to a tasty weeknight dinner and a drink. Their starters have a variety of tasty bites that include the white truffle eggs, wicked wings, prosciutto-melon burrata, Mama Pauley's meatballs, and a very addicting chipotle pimento cheese dip. While I appreciate the vegan-friendly hippie chickpea croquettes, it needed just a bit more seasoning. Their bacon double cheeseburger has been deemed "insta-famous" and it certainly didn't disappoint. It's juicy, a little messy, but a lot delicious. It paired well with their large cut fries (consider upgrading to the truffle fries), but the house made chips are also a good light bite. Their salads are equally fabulous from their classic caesar to a hearty cobb salad. I wasn't as impressed with the crunchy Asian salad, but thought their faro salad was a thumbs up. Understandably, the priciest meals are some of their grilled and house specialty meals, such as a prime tenderloin filet ($42), Mediterranean roasted redfish ($36), twelve hour ribs ($29), and rosemary-lemon chicken ($29), all of which are solid. I feel the buttermilk chicken tender platter ($19) is really meant for children, but is great for any tender lover in the bunch. Their weekly "features" are a series of daily specials that range from prime rib nights on Wednesdays and ribeyes on Thursdays, and "kids eat free" specials + their happy hour give folks plenty of reason to check it out. ___________ ( #1) Especially during their seasonal deals which can sometimes include steep discounts.
