A neighbor recommended Reed's Auto Repair. It's less than 10 minutes from my home so I decided to give them a try. I made an appointment for the following week. I waited @ the shop for 45 minutes while the work was being done. The bill came to $123.85 which I thought was a little high considering I had been taking it to my local dealership in Nevada since day 1 and they charged me 85.00 for the same service and using synthetic oil. I called Reed's last week and made another appointment (reluctantly) but this time it was for an oil change only. I waited again for the service to be completed and John came out with the bill that totaled $162.79. I was shocked I asked him why it was so expensive for just an oil change and his response was " it is the damn Chinese raising prices" I had given him my debit card and the transaction went through before I could change my mind. I called Advance Auto store and they sell it for 11.99 per quart. My car uses 5.5 quarts. John charged me $98.89. 5.5 quarts @11.99 = $65.94. I'm sure any auto repair shop get oil at a discount too. On top of that he charged me 44.00 for labor as well! The only thing he didn't screw me on was the oil filter for 19.90. Of course I checked with a few other neighbors an they said they get the same synthetic oil change at a shop just down the street in the other direction and it costs them 69.00. And it's not a Valvoline quick lube. I don't know if it's because of where I live that I can afford these prices but it's just a shame he can do this and keep a customer base. I'm never going back because I'm FIRE TRUCKING PISSED OFF that I let this happen to me!!!

Bought two tires from him and he determined the correct size. He knew it was a 4 wheel drive vehicle and that I was going to return for two more matching tires for the front within the coming months. When I returned just about 6 weeks later to buy the matching two tires (note that all 4 tires must be of identical size in order to use the vehicle in 4 wheel drive), when he put the matching 2 on the front, the tires could not turn without seriously hitting the wheel opening on the vehicle. It turned out that what he had sold me originally was way oversized for my Chevy Silverado. When I complained to the manager that what he sold me before was obviously the wrong size and showed him my receipt, he still claimed ridiculously that the tires were the right size. His own employees had said to me just a few minutes before that I had obviously been sold the wrong size tires. He (Bill the manager) then ordered me off this property and said I was then trespassing. Can you even imagine?!? I intend to file a lawsuit against this outfit. There are many honest tire shops in the area and I suggest any one of them instead. Do not buy from this place...worst experience ever!!!

The good news is I live really close to Barnes towing and tire. I drove in and rang the bell, and Tim came out to help me. It took about 10 minutes to finish the car he was working on and he took my car back. 15 minutes later he came out and told me that I had a tiny nail, causing a tiny leak in my tire, I was so relieved he was able to repair it before the trip. I have nothing but great things to say about Tim and this company, they really helped me out. The price was great, I love being able to use neighborhood businesses that do a great job. They cancelled the pick up 3 times before finally coming. Mind you this is a short summary of 6 hours of waiting and calling OnStar again and again. Barnes finally sends someone out to tow the vehicle with the wrong type of tow truck. The driver tells me he need to try to jump my vehicle but somehow doesn't have a jump box. He said he was going to run up the street to get a jump box. After an hour of waiting, I find out that they cancelled the tow again. I finally gave up and called Coastal towing. They were right over to pick up my vehicle. If you want to waste a day call Barnes. If not, call someone else. If you have OnStar and they say they are calling Barnes for you, demand that they call someone else or you'll surely be in trouble. These guys are the worst!!!
