Sapphire Celebrations - Denver Country Club wedding

They quit 3 weeks before our wedding, via email, mid day. We found a new wedding planner who was a breath of fresh air (and actually helpful), compared to what we got from Sapphire.

We had an exceptionally crazy year and didn't really have time to deal with all the craziness of planning a destination weekend wedding on our own so we hired her to help with more than just the day of service. We were supposed to get 5 meetings, I kept asking when to expect those meetings or how they are typically used. She never really answered that. When we were at the meetings, we kept asking her to set our expectations so we would know what she was really handling and she never really was able to do that. We never got any proactive communication from her at all. I was supposed to get a wedding binder, but never got one since I had already started my own, not a big deal... She emailed me a bunch of generic forms that I had already found in my own internet searches. She was supposed to help design the wedding, the one thing she was in charge of "designing" on the day of was to write a little note on a chalkboard for my wishing stones that I wanted to say "Place wishes here" instead we got a sign that just said "Rocks here" which was conveniently erased before I saw it in person but there are plenty of photos of the cute setting with that awful sign. She was supposed to coordinate all of our other vendors and no one had heard from her until about the week before my wedding so they were all contacting me which defeated the purpose of hiring someone. She would almost always have trouble getting my emails, they would end up in her junk folder and then she was supposed to email me something and that supposedly got left in her draft folder and I got it a week later when it was obsolete and I ended up doing the work myself. When my husband finally got fed up and told her we weren't happy, she didn't even bother to pick up the phone and find out how to make it better. She just sent a defensive email telling us she was doing more than she was supposed to since she sent us the names of some vendors. The one vendor she directed us to was a florist that we told her was out of our budget as soon as she told us the travel fee alone would be $1200. I thought she had found another florist that could work within our budget and set up a meeting with them but no, she sent me to the florist that was going to blow our budget out of the water wasting my time and the florist's time and getting my expectations set too high. She also sent the name of a bakery that wasn't anything to write home about and the most expensive of all the ones we checked out. The week of my wedding, I held out hope that this would be her time to shine and really pull it all together. I never heard from her! She didn't even pick up the phone to call and say she's on her way to the venue or anything. When it came time for the rehearsal, I had no idea if she was even going to be there. The morning of the wedding, she didn't bother to check in to see how I was doing. My bridesmaids had to go chase her down at breakfast while I was running to the reception site trying to find something. She was offended that we wanted to hear from her before noon. When our ceremony was about to start, I was out in the hot sun for a few photos and then needed water before I could walk down the aisle. My poor mother started running back to the cabin to get me water as she's supposed to be walking down the aisle. My husband asked her about the tip envelopes, he never got those from her so he went around handing out who knows what to whoever he thought of, hopefully we got the right amount to the right people... This was such an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience. I really didn't want to write this but I know it would have saved us a lot of stress if someone else had done us the favor of writing something like this.

She made the planning of a multi-cultural, dual ceremony (Hindu/Non-Denominational Christian) wedding look easy and I don't know what we would have done without her. To top it off, Lata was very easy to work with and very professional throughout the whole process. She also had many wonderful suggestions on how to spice up the decorations. She did a great job of decorating the mandap to look stunning and modified it to match the style of both ceremonies. In the end, the wedding was exactly how we had envisioned it and we will never forget the hard work that Lata had invested in our special day. For any future event planning needs, InVogue Events will be the first place we contact. -9/4/2016

My wife and I are both from Chicago and decided to do a destination wedding in Colorado. We found…read moreLata while browsing online for wedding decorators. Being a destination wedding, we did not get to meet her in person until our 1-month walkthrough. Lata was professional throughout the whole process. She was patient and open to our vision and provided her insights from her past experiences in this field when needed. She was available for us as we had several long phone conversations to determine our theme, discuss details, logistics, etc. She would work around our schedule and make herself available for us during nights and weekends. During the whole process, she worked with us to keep the decoration and her services within our budget. She paid attention to all details for our Sangeet night and wedding ceremony. She got all the colors, floral, and placements exactly how we wanted. She was also prepared to have a Plan B if the weather did not cooperate with our events. She was accommodating and met us at both of our event's venues pre-walkthrough to finalize the decoration. She treated us like a friend and did things outside the job description - for example, she stored few boxes of personal items for us and provided other vendor suggestions for our wedding. As nervous as we were about her understanding our vision-she came through a 110%. She even built us a custom wooden stage for our wedding mandap last minute since the rented stage did not work well. We truly could not have asked for a better, professional decorator than Lata to accomplish our vision. As picky as we were about the exact shade of color of the fabric we wanted for our mandap and the flowers, she was honest & open to telling us what she can do for us. We would highly recommend her-even if you are having a destination wedding! Thank you, Lata! Our wedding would not have been possible without you.
