Beautiful venue, but unfortunately, a very disturbing experience with the owner.
I attended my best friend's daughter's wedding. While the bride, groom, and celebration itself were beautiful, the owner's behavior created unnecessary and extreme stress throughout the evening. She was repeatedly rude and confrontational toward the bride's mother, the couple, and even the catering staff. Despite being asked several times to direct her concerns to the bride's mother rather than the couple, she continued confronting them on their wedding day, including pointing fingers and speaking in a raised, snappy tone.
There were also several unexpected charges, including a $1,500/hr fee because the decorator was not there at the exact time the rental period ended. In addition, the owner ordered the groom and his friends to take the decorations and staging outside, even though the decorators were already on their way.
There was also an additional $500 garbage fee for food that the owner insisted be thrown away. The caterer was not allowed to serve two of the courses because of the waitstaff's schedule. Seriously, the waitstaff is on the wedding schedule- not hers! The owner also insisted that all the food be thrown away, and no unserved food was allowed to be taken home. The family was also charged a $500 disinfecting fee, even though the caterer was not allowed to use or touch any of the event center's equipment, including the refrigeration. The caterer brought the food hot and plated it before serving it. The bride's mother took pictures showing that the area where the caterer worked was spotless.
The family was also charged $30 for each tablecloth because of concerns about possible stains.
Video recording devices were present throughout the venue, including in the bridal party's dressing area, which raised serious privacy concerns. The owner also stated that she "had everything on tape."
At the end of the evening, security was brought in while the owner continued to make threats of additional fines, even as family and friends were still gathering the bridal party's personal belongings.
The venue itself is beautiful, but the way the family and guests were treated overshadowed what should have been a joyful celebration. Most of these issues could have been handled with basic courtesy and flexibility. Unfortunately, that was not our experience at Nuur. The owner was difficult to reason with and showed no flexibility when the timeline changed.
I strongly encourage anyone considering this venue to look elsewhere. The venue's beauty is overshadowed by the owner's rude and money-gouging approach.
I'm sharing this review to help other couples and families avoid being caught off guard on such an important day. read more
