I am currently an online student, and am approaching the end of my BSN program. To say that this facility and faculty has been helpful would be an understatement. I do not know why there are so many who've had bad experiences, I can only speak to my own. Yes, ONCE I did wait on hold for a long time, but mostly I was on hold for only a few minutes. The nursing classes are offered by Chamberlain, the non-nursing classes are offered by DeVry. In both cases, the content was appropriate and challenging, yet not hard to manage. I originally graduated with an ADN 27 years ago from a state university. There was no problem getting my transcripts. I received numerous phone calls from advisors and was offered guidance for my path to the BSN. I have, and will continue to recommend the RN-BSN program to others. I am not saying that those who've written poor reviews are being dishonest, however, I believe that their's was the exception, not the standard. I am saddened that their FNP program is not accepted by NYS, or I'd be taking that as well. read more

Constantly having issues with the financial department who cant seem to send invoices in a timely manner to my employer so they can be paid. After 3 months of constant phone calls and finally having the invoice sent, my employer sent a check which they CAN NOT FIND. Therefore my account is STILL ON HOLD and I am unable to register for classes, which is delaying my expected graduation. SUPER frustrating. Consider elsewhere if your employer is going to pay for part of your tuition expenses because their system is not great and you are always talking to a middle man and not the people you need to. read more

I have been attending Chamberlain for over a year. Everyone is so supportive and is willing to do anything to help you be successful throughout your nursing journey. One of my favorite presentations was the one we do in Transition To Nursing. You present "why" you want to become a nurse. Gladys is amazing! She is very helpful when it comes to reviewing for exams. I have 6 months left of the FNP program..there are good and bad as any college has. I am learning alot but I personally stopped working full time to keep up with all the demands of the class. I feel it would be extremely difficult to maintain the grades with working full time. It's a MSN program, of course their is a ton of projects and papers. As many colleges, it requires you to get your own practicum sites. Many APRN programs do. Overall with 3 classes left, I am satisfied. Most all my instructors have been helpful when approached and reachable. I have never had an issue with the finance office or student services. All tests and quizzes are proctored. Like many universities the program is what you put into it. read more

I'm one year into the FNP program and everything has been great. The curriculum is challenging, the support staff have been excellent, and the instructors are top notch. This is a review for the Chamberlain College of Nursing (CCN) BSN, MSN APN Programs-I am a graduate of CCN BSN and almost completing the MSN/APN program. I cannot say enough 'positive things' about the program itself, teachers, and what I have learned. That being said, I have demoted CCN from 5 Star to 1 Star due to the under staffing of the student services department. I have been unable to even register for my Summer classes because there is a very high call volume with no staff to support the calls. I've been on hold over 60 minutes and no one available to pick up the phone to address any questions. There appears to be a critical and severe breakdown at this time that needs immediate attention as I am paying $2000 per class. CCN-I've enjoyed your program, please fix this problem. read more

I graduated from Chamberlain in 2011 from Addison campus. I am giving 5 stars because of the great teachers and staff that are there, and they are always there to help. Another important point is that staff and teachers know the students by name, not by numbers or dollar signs. After I graduated I felt ready for NCLEX (which I passed on the first try), and for the real world of nursing. What got me ready was a great simulation laboratory, tutoring and over 900 hours of clinicals (which is a LOT and that's a good thing), after you complete all the clinical hours in different hospitals on various floors- you have no choice but to be ready. I will not say that it was easy- Nursing school is hard: but getting your BSN in 3 years and then the RN license was great and all the stress, tears, joy, ups and downs were all worth it on the end. I would recommend Chamberlain to those that want a BSN degree in 3 years, the ones that are hard working and motivated to better their future (not to mention that some hospitals REQUIRE a BSN degree). read more

This school is a money making scam. Worst school I have ever been to. Some professors will go the extra mile to fail you for no reason. All your class is online and if ask professor questions about certain topics not sure if they cannot answer because they do not know or they don't care. Chamberlain do not care about their students, they do not care about their students education, all they care about is collecting your money. No help with finding clinical. Some student are treated better than some, I was in a clinical with another student that was able to start week 4/8 and finished week 6/8 with only 2 days per week which was okay for the school. Some professor will call your practicum coordinator telling them it is okay to fail you. Unorganized class as they change the syllabus as you go along and the staffs are very rude. read more

They do not accommodate religious observance days despite having a letter signed. I had to get in touch with so many different staff members but was still pushed off a semester. If I could afford it, I would file a lawsuit for religious discrimination. I would not recommend this school if you want your religious beliefs to be respected. read more

I wish I could give less than one star. My books didn't arrive on time causing me to be behind the first week. I had no access to "preview week" because the "system" took three days to enroll me into classes. Being behind from the get go and watching due dates change twice in the first couple of days: I dropped both classes three days in deciding the run around I was getting from student support wasn't worth it and this isn't the college for me.Received a bill for $452!! When I questioned the bill I was told because I did an introduction post in one of the classes and that counted as attendance and was being charged for the class! Student support told me I should have taken advantage of "preview week". Yeah-would have loved to had I been given access. Hard lesson learned- regardless of their credentials or longetivity- I should have researched this school more as I now see all the bad reviews. read more

The Academic staff is decent but the administration staff: HORRIBLE!! I have been mislead multiple times which caused me thousands out of my pocked due to their lack of knowledge. This is without the fact that is an expensive school. The financial staff do not understood my needs, they're literally just for "fill in". I was planning in continue from the online BSN program to the MSN but I decided to RUN AWAY from this school after my experience with the BSN. Still today I am receiving automated calls regarding to enroll in the MSN program after I already told them multiple times (+5) that I won't continue (over a year ago). Apparently Chamberlain makes so much money they do not have to take an individual interest in your education. You will never talk to anyone at the actual office, only a 1-800 number and those people never know the answer to your question. I should have known it was a mistake to enroll in their program when I was told I had to be undeclared status and would not be able to enroll into the program until I have finished my 4 course classes, even though their website states otherwise. read more

I just read a post from a alumni and it is soooo true. PA and Physicians are being well prepared to go out and work (at least much more prepared that NP students), and then we as nurses complain why we are not respected. We are not respected because many nursing school do not prepare students adequately to enter the world in their field. It amazes me that we are the group that actually enter school, most often, with a strong background in the medical field having been nurses generally for several years. Yet, when we are standing side by side with Medical students and PA students, especially in the area of Peds, we realize that we do not know anything. ANA needs to look into these programs read more

I have attended several colleges and chamberlain's RN to BSN has been the best experience. I haven't had to do anything. The saff (Kandice Richards) have all been amazing. She and everyone in financial aid stay in close contact and work together as a team to help get loans etc. all the other negative comments have been dead wrong. I love chamberlain. read more

My daughter attended 2 other schools and was unable to secure a spot in the nursing program. She then asked for my assistance in looking for a local school and after doing an exhaustive search and touring the school we decided Chamberlain should be a good fit. So far so good it's been 9 months and Dad was right, the school has been both challenging and supportive. With the year round program she will be making money in the fourth year instead of going to school and this makes economic sense. read more

The North Brunswick, NJ campus is the biggest joke. Ask any student and they will tell you they are staying only because the school somehow is accredited. The communication is extremely unprofessional, ESPECIALLY from the clinical compliance team, student service team, finance (actually they just don't respond period), and academic services. Some of the professors are decent, or they just don't care at all. They make you do group work instead of teach and tell you everything in the book is wrong then get made when they entire class fails the exam. DO NOT GO HERE. You will spend $60,000 +++ on your education to be pissed off, stressed and frustrated and that doesn't include the actual classes. Go anywhere else you can find but not this school. Save yourself the nightmare, no matter how much they butter you up. All you have to do is look at anyone working there to see how miserable and weathered they look. Everyone looks like they hate their lives and their jobs. That should be enough to tell you how "great" the program was.... read more

I attended Chamberlin and Graduated from RN to BSN in just over 12 months. Courses were great. Financial AID Was a NIGHTMARE. I explained to them I was on a very limited budget and could not afford a large out of pocket expense. They said it would all be covered in loans and GRANTS. Guess what no Grants. All loans. Also their aid fell 3,000 short and put me into collections as soon as I graduated. I have been paying them off and still owe 1,900. They are still holding all transcripts even unofficial ones. Plus when I called to try to resolve the problem they did not call be back made calls everyday for a week. Fianally a really Nasty lady called me back. Professors are great. My only hesitation in given them 5 stars is the IT infrastructure. It does not support mobile interaction well. read more

I've been at Chamberlain University for my BSN and now for my graduate degree, and the result is chaos. At the beginning it​ was ok but they are looking for you to fail. Recently I was in the of the class and the software they use to make you take to test and exams did not work as it should making me lose point to the point of failing. There were three exams and in two of those exams, the system did not work properly. I contacted the student services, professor, supervisor of the professor and they all say the couldn't do anything. One of the exams was almost 200 points which took me from B+ to F. None of them were worried about my grade. My advice for those looking for a school that actually cares for the student and actually have tools that work is to look away in another direction. This school is not serious and is expensive as well. If I could give some sort of Negative star I will do it. -10 no professionalism nor work ethics. read more

I go to the Addison campus of Chamberlain (some of the other reviews on this page are for a different campus). I love this school! I applied to Chamberlain, had to take an entrance exam, and got accepted relatively quickly! They have a specific schedule that all students follow that accounts for what class to take with general electives. I transferred in, and unlike other people who reviewed the school, I had no problems transferring my credits. The teachers in Addison are all wonderful and really dedicated to teaching us, I've been here for a year and half and never had a bad teacher so far! The clinical sites are all great, although I have had to drive nearly an hour to get to the hospitals. I have heard bad things about other Chamberlain campuses, like the Chicago campus, but the Addison school is really great. I recommend it to anyone applying to nursing school. read more

Chamberlain College of Nursing, most expensive and they state that they promote a great learning experience, which is not true. From the first class I took, I knew it was disorganized, but I was new to the program. You are teaching yourself, there is guidance and the IT department is not helpful. I am in my in my 10th class and this is a trend. New software required for the student to use is difficult to start and there is little instruction. The IT has no idea, whenever you call. Recent changes to the program are put on like full court press and you have to adjust to it, or fail the class. Assignments of 6 chapters, and 6 work book assignments per week to help one study for a quiz, are of no help. Taking the quiz with a lockdown browser, and having limited time with questions all over the place does not help one to retain one thought and then boom....the quiz it over! No retakes and you just have to deal with it. The midterms and finals have 100 questions and 1.5 min each question to take which is 70 min limit, or one hour and 20 minutes. No exceptions, questions all over the place and very little to keep focused on the question. I am an A student, and some people in my class have dropped and are failing. Also No grades for 3 weeks, no contact from the professor. This is helpful information to know where you stand in the grading of the class. I have not retained any information. I never have complained, but Im not letting this one slide. Student services, listens but cannot do anything. All complaints are not heard by administration, nor do I think they care. Multiple students, in multiple classes are complaining this semester, and I see little change coming. Do not waste your time and your money on this school. read more

I am in a quandry about Chamberlain College of Nursing. I already have a Master's degree in Health Care Administration and a BSN from Wichita State University and CCRN from American Assn of Critical Care Nurses as well as a Cert.Legal Nurse Consultant. I tell you that to show I am above average and am capable of earning another degree under normal circumstances. I have had 2 instructors from Chamberlain that were really horrible, one refused to grade my paper for 3 weeks ( classes are 8 weeks). I had to withdraw and lose $2000.00. I am ONLY getting a MSN to help the college where I teach nursing keep it's accreditation. Any thoughts on Chamberlain ??? Can I transfer credits??? Kathy read more

I enrolled in Chamberlain College of Nursing for my RN-BSN program last March 2014. At first it was a daunting task. I've been away from school for almost 20 years. I am so used to the regular brick and mortar school and this was my first online class. I was overwhelmed initially because I was not good at Microsoft Word, and the APA format. The very first class actually prepared us for those. Overall, I am very satisfied. My counselor Nick Prieto was extremely patient with me, and my instructor Faye Silverman is only a phone call away. Now, let me say this. You will have to study to pass the class. There's no give away. The class can be intense given the fact that most students are working plus other life issues. If you do your homework and study diligently you will pass the class with flying colors. If you are a chronic procrastinator and lazy then find another school. Chamberlain College of Nursing is a very high standard school. Also there's a tremendous resources. Financial aid people are very honest and straight forward. They don't trick you. They tell you how and what it is. They do business by the book. : read more
