Shoutout to my CCOP colleagues!! =D This is a great campus with nature blend with technology. I came from a really big camps (UCLA - go Bruins!) so I was not used to attending school at such a small campus but it is actually really nice because you can walk anywhere within 5 minutes (except when you have to walk to the Wellness Center). The library is a great high tech center with lots of study places and on the first floor next to the library, there is a 24 hour study room. I was a bit bummed to find out the library isn't open 24 hours. The gym is pretty neat and it is almost never crowded. I wish we had a pool on campus. The commons (cafeteria) has lots of yummy dishes that rotates every day so you can never get tired or sick of the food. It is CASH only though so if you plan on eating often, I would suggest getting a meal plan with the school. Parking can be pretty tough when all the students are on campus at once or trying to get out all at once...since there's only 1 way in/out. read more

I love this school, and this is super biased because I'm in the pharmacy program, but speaking on behalf of CCP, this place is great! I love where it's situated in beautiful Downers Grove, the security is a bit much but it's nice to know we're safe and it's not like other schools with high people traffic where you have bums randomly asking you for change, etc. (I went to undergrad in Chicago) It's clean and has a beautiful setting near a woodsy area, love it! The teachers are awesome, I've met some great people who are at the top of their field and are not only there to teach but honestly make sure you succeed. They provide you with the knowledge you need but also people skills and I've realized I've learned so much just in my first year about myself and what I need to do to improve in order to be the ideal health professional. I think Midwestern is an excellent school and if you're contemplating on going here, you should simply visit to see what they have to offer. I'm sure you will fall in love with it as much as I have :) read more

Disclaimer: speaking for the pharmacy program here. Professors actually care about the students. TA's aren't there to teach the material but are in charge of the logistics of the class like updating blackboard and stuff. Textbooks are not necessary because the note packets have everything you need for about $25 each. Free parking for students. (YAY) High security (maybe TOO much). The on-campus housing here is very convenient and nice. I share a bathroom with ONE other person and a room to myself. Although the kitchen and laundry room is shared by the entire floor. The program is alright so far (I'm only in my first quarter here so maybe I'll update this review much later). People are friendly :) read more

My roommate went into their facility and was greeted with incompetence and unprofessionalism. Upon requesting a refill of antibiotics for a tooth infection, he was ignored, redirected, and talked down on. He recieved instruction to visit the facility where he was strictly told that he would not be allowed onto the premises nor would they allow his patronage further. An excellent school for anybody looking into the medical field. Its not a medical school, but they offer various other degrees -- like pharmacy, physicians assistant, and DO. The facilities here are very well kept and the profesors are really great. Its a wonderful place to get an education at. read more

I am a clinical psychology student here. I love the program, but only love some of the professors. The training director is a gem, as she does her job well and makes sure every student gets placed in practicums and internships. My mentor and dissertation chair is a brilliant woman and has published numerous works. The seasoned professors are wonderful. Some of the newly hired professors are terrible and think they are above the students. Some students are the same age or OLDER than them. I understand that professors should be respected, but students pay their salaries and are the reason they have jobs, and should be treated as the professionals that we are. That being said, the program is APA accredited which opens a lot of doors in terms of employability...BUT, they keep accepting more and more students each year. I think they should continue to stick to smaller cohort sizes. This, among other things, distinguished this program from others for me. I also love that it is situated in a very nice and safe suburb of Chicago. Since I commute, it is easy to get to and there is plenty of free parking! Overall, this program trains you very well. I am confident in my skills as a therapist-in-training and the education and experience I am getting here far surpass that of any other program in the Chicagoland area, in my opinion. The school and program have a wonderful reputation, as well. I'm glad I chose to receive my education here. read more

Honestly, for how much this school costs the facilities are horrendous. Where does all the money go? because its definitely not to the underfunded weight lifting room or the social lounge under the café. The Ping-Pong table is breaking in half, the pool sticks are broken and the TV is from the 90s. A paintjob in some areas wouldn't hurt either, it looks like a jail cell in some areas. The outside of the campus looks great, but it feels wrong that there haven't been updates to the interior in years. The students should feel like it's home, seeing how they study all day, Midwestern feels like it needs to step up in that area. read more

This is a review of the Dental Institute. I have been a frequent user of this service since it opened. Very satisfied until recently. Had an issue with a old bridge. After trying to make an appointment I found out there was a 6 week wait. I did get in after 3 weeks due to a cancellation. The bridge was removed and it was discovered that one leg was getting food under bridge due to a bad seal. 2 instructors examined the issue with several opinions of course of action. After 3 hours in chair and x-rays, I was set up with another appointment 6 weeks later. The bridge was not reinserted just a temp covering of the posts. I never had to wait that long after work was started on an issue. I don't know if it's just the group I have been assigned to or the program in general is over booked. At this rate it will carry me through the winter with appointments. read more

Awesome school with great facilities, faculty and clinical rotation sites.

This is an outstanding school to attend for those that wish to pursue a career in the medical field. Now I have to disagree with a w. b/c Midwestern is a medical school. It offers a DO program (doctor of osteopathic medicine), and you still practice in a hospital or clinic just as any other physician. That being said, a plethora of other programs are also offered: pharmacy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant, masters in biomedical science, and clinical psychology. The facilities are great; however the new athletic hall is still in need of much improvement. It was built a bit too small b/c not all the excersie equipment fits in the room, and it's a bit uncomfortable and odd to see students running on treadmills in the hallway. The faculty, on the other hand, are wonderful. The professors make it a point to be available to students b/c they want to ensure each student is successful. The campus itself is beautiful, situated near Oakbrook (which is great if you like to take shopping breaks), and is located just 20min from the Chicago loop. This is definitely a great place to get a top-notch education. read more

I have been receiving treatment at the Midwestern Dental Clinic over the last 6 months. I have a life long terror of the dentist that has to be overcome. The entire staff from the initial interview to the removal of a tooth and subsequent treatment has been wonderful. Everyone put me at ease and explained all procedures at each visit. Supervision of the students has been excellent and my students very competent and professional in their treatment. I'm not through with my plan yet, but I have no fears. read more

Speaking for the DO program, terrible. Waste of money. They don't release their class stats to school rankings because they take issue with ranking classes by just test scores and gpas. Right on. But now I know it's a more sinister reason. If they allowed their school to be ranked it would become obvious that the school is in the bottom 10% based on scores, HOWEVER they are in the top 1% of medical schools based on cost. It's true that they don't have any physicians on the teaching staff (and if they do they don't stay long). Every year the federal student loan cap is increased, and guess what so does mudwestern increase their tuition to max out that cap. And for what? A parking garage. I'm in more debt than I'll ever be able to pay off, but I still get emails wanting alumni dues. Profs are not the most qualified. And the coordinators of your rotations are barely literate psychiatric patients. Laugh now until something goes completely wrong and it reflects on you, not them. My hope is that the incompetent staff all get very ill and their punishment is they are cared for by a graduate from their Shiite medical school. read more
