Years back I'd come out here yearly to attend conferences to hear this real cool Tamil dude speak…read morethe word of God. At one time he was quite instrumental with World Vision. An elegant, well spoken, British English speaking kind of gentleman. What a nice area to go and spend a few nights and attend meetings for the conference. Most kids still at school during the conference would be uber nice. Who doesn't like a nice "Good morning" or Good anything hello during the course of the day. Jesus people I tell you, they are always so nice and smiling all the time. What is it about them? Must be all the K-Love they listen to. I can't say much about the school itself, I've only known a handful of graduates that loved attending more than the typical experience known as secular schools. As far as a place to hold a couple day conference, it's a good fit and closer to Chicago than say the Billy Graham center down south. Which is also a very fantastic option. Why travel so many miles to Ohio or up state Wisconsin, when there is a perfectly good facility right here. I like that the theme of the college resonates with many of their neighbors, some bible thumpers as well as those that are very nice to be around.

We had such classes, with many inspired teachers (like Dr. Howard Vos and Reverend Gerald Gillespie) plus such wonderful classmates. George Beverly Shea's son Ron (who now manages "Billy Graham Crusades") was in my Freshman class. I took seriously sick in the last half of my Senior year, but managed to return in September of 71, and finish up College in order to graduate. Everyone was so very supportive and helpful

The teachers love our kids and we have been amazed at the skills our kids have acquired. As an early childhood educator myself, I struggled with the idea of putting my children in a childcare center, but Riverwoods Montessori is far beyond what you find anywhere else! I have looked at many different options for our kids, and nothing has come close to the experience we have had there. This Fall, our third child will begin his infant program at Riverwoods and it is the only place I can imagine trusting with my baby! We highly recommend their programs!

In our particular case at the Riverwoods, IL location, with only one parent teacher conference months before stressing a few correctable problems, were the director's tone was very optimistic, it was a surprise to later hear that our child is no longer welcomed. When we were told of the expulsion, the director's response, which felt more like a lecture, was very cold. We were given 7 business days, that also happened to be during a major holiday week were schools are closed and providers are unavailable/limited, to find a new care provider. The director's handling of our situation was irresponsible and disrespectful. Perhaps, if she would have suggested and worked with us to create and document a mutual plan, provide progress reports and establish a clear channel for communication, we would have had a different outcome, (or at least a better understanding and respect for how they acted.) Happily, we found wonderful care for our child who is thriving and well adjusted. I would never recommend this provider and ask other parents to reconsider placing their child under the supervision of this director.

One year ago my daughter would scream if her face got wet, now she puts her head under no problem and can completely float on her back on her own and is learning how to swim. She makes progress every week. If we can only afford one class each week, this would be the one we would never miss. They keep moving her up into better classes (even in the middle of the semester) to keep her growing. Very happy with this school. Teachers are awesome too!!!

I also wanted to ensure she's a strong swimmer as early as possible, because let's face it, accidents happen and kids do fall into pools, no matter how careful you are. My daughter has officially successfully completed Backfloat Baby 1 and started Backfloat Baby 2 about two weeks ago. We were SO SO lucky to have Christine for our first instructor, and I really hope we are able to have her again for a future class. She put my anxiety at ease, and handled my daughter so well (can you imagine how hard it is to get a 6 month old who loves to lick pool water to actually close her mouth long enough to be submerged under water for 4 seconds?!) I've also seen her with some of the more rambunctious older kids, and she has the patience of an angel. I really hope my daughter comes to trust our new instructor as much as she did Christine so that we can have a successful Backfloat Baby 2 class and continue on our swim journey. All of the employees here are so sweet, and I'm so glad that we chose FOSS for our daughter.
