If you are a person who can't eat gluten traveling through Paris, Chambelland is an absolute must. As a person who can eat gluten (brag, I know, I'm sorry), I would still say Chambelland is excellent. My partner falls into the first category, and was like a kid in a candy store when we first walked in. We shared a zucchini quiche, and while neither of us are typically super into quiches, we both found it to be absolutely delicious. The crust was thin and flaky and perfect, and the flavors perfectly balanced. I also had the vanilla eclair and it was delightful. The pastry was so light and fluffy, and the filling not too sweet and wonderfully creamy and vanilla-y. My partner had a slice of the couronne de reines--essentially a cake with orange peels, ginger bits, and cherries. He found it to be absolutely incredible. Warning - This is an organic non-gluten bakery. This is not for you if you're after croissants or other "standard" breads. I went in there without knowing any of it. It's my fault, really. I should have done my research beforehand. I was confused by the visible lack of any viennoiseries on display. (I was planning on having a croissant and a hot drink for my breakfast there) They didn't have any croissant, so after some hesitation, I picked what looked like a savoury bread, which had the name of the establishment. I assumed it was their signature stuff. The bread tasted stale and weird. I also had a banana bread, which was on the stodgier side. I was disappointed. This was another Gluten-Free bakery that was on my list for Paris and it didn't disappoint. It's located in a lovely area where there isn't any traffic. When you walk in the employees are friendly and wait patiently for you to decide. I cannot speak French and the gentlemen that worked there was kind enough to use English to help me. They have optional inside and outside seating. My husband and I sat inside. My eyes were bigger than my stomach and I got the La marquise de popincourt and Moelleux au chocolat. The Moelleux au chocolat was amazing! It was bitter and sweet. I purchased the La marquise de popincourt to go. I sampled a piece and the lemon flavor was strong! A good strong, it's hard to find solid lemon pastries in America that actually taste like lemon and aren't sickly sweet. He got the Boulangerie, his was a bit dry but he enjoyed it. Absolutely delicious! Got the chocolate tart and the citrus meringue tart, both were SUPERB! The chocolate was super dark and melted in my mouth. The meringue wasn't overly sweet, and had a nice amount of zest in it. My husband and I came back that same day to try the sandwiches. The bread didn't look that great, but as soon as we took our first bite, we were in awe... incredible!! Fabulous gluten-free bakery in a city where gluten-free can be a little tricky. We got the olive loaf and the foccacia bread -- yes, we only ate bread for lunch, this is France! They were both soft, but not crumbly or mealy like a lot of gfree bread tends to be. My fiance who isn't gluten-free couldn't get enough of the olive bread and said it tasted glutinous and delicious. The service was also incredibly kind and helpful. The woman who served us recommended a couple other gluten free spots nearby and gave us some hints on making French cuisine gluten-friendly. The restaurant is very airy and trendy, with self-serve water (omg, how I missed this traveling through Europe!) and newspapers. It's nice and close to the metro and in a great area. But a friend is gluten intolerant, so I decided to tag along. No complaints. I had a strawberry tart which was good -- for being gluten free. It was missing a little creamy something. I wish they came up with some substitute. I also had a citronnade, which I assumed was something akin to a lemonade. I was wrong. It wasn't sugared! Nonetheless the tart and lemon beverage together set me back 7 euro. Not bad, but not cheap cheap ;). It's really cute though! seating interior and exterior!!! Made an every other day trip to this Gluten Free bakery to keep myself supplied while in Paris for 5 days. That's real. The breads are dense, moist when they should be, delicious and pair well with great cheese fresh from the farmers market, 3 minute eggs at breakfast, and the chocolate bread - or the orange and chocolate chip baguette slay as your tea/coffee desert companion. While I'm still looking for that gluten free dream croissant I am thrilled to know and love this bakery and 10/10 will be back. We tried olive bread, ginger bread, a chestnut mousse dessert, brownie, chocolate chip macadamia nut cookie, nut and seed power bars, and banana bread, and everything was delicious! I had a sandwich, two cakes and I bought a loaf of bread (no shame, no regrets). It was all delicious if I had known it would be that fantastic I would have gone there every day of our trip. Chambelland is my favorite gluten free place EVER. From Chicago to New York and California and a little bit of searching in London, I have never in my life seen such an amazing spread of fresh gluten free pastries. I'm pretty sure I did a little happy dance when I walked in and saw all the different colored tartes and different types of bread laid out behind the glass display window. Best of all? They had the pastry I missed most since going gluten free almost six years ago: raspberry tarte. Back in the day, I remember loving this mostly for the raspberries. However, with Chambelland's gluten free one, I loved every part; even the crust was sweet and flaky in a good way. I also took some pastries home with me: a slice of cheesecake (heavenly), a piece of lemon pound cake, and a chocolate soufflé brownie thing that was amazing warmed up in the microwave. All were so so good, but the cheesecake stood out the most as levels above other gluten free attempts I've tried elsewhere. By the cash register, they had some little bread ball things, and I couldn't get a description I understood in French but decided to try them anyways when the lady told me "ils sont très bons!" Omg it's so true. I don't know what they were called, but they reminded me of cream puffs without the cream part inside. I want to come back here ASAP to get more of the raspberry tartes (like six...) and more of these little bread puffs. Usually, a gluten free bakery is such an unusual thing to find. If they have one or two good pastries, I'm surprised. Here, every single one I tried was good. Okay, so this place was ridiculously good. I had a sandwich with fantastic bread (with a taste and texture I haven't experienced since starting a gluten free diet a few years ago), the crumble of the season with pears and delicious crust and crumble bits, and a simple but delicious pain au sucre where the caramelized sugar provides a perfect texture outside. There was some but not a lot of seating inside (and a few seats outside), but I didn't care because I wanted to walk around while I ate. Honestly not sure why they didn't make some sort of almond flour crust but wasn't sure if maybe they were doing but free too??? Disappointed I did try the olive focaccia. Great on first day. One of the best bakeries I visited on my trip to Paris. I didn't realize it was gluten free until I got here, but that's not to say it hindered the experience. I ended up going with the lemon tart and their focassia. With the focaccia, I couldn't even tell it was gluten-free. Mines had a lot of olives inside and was really fantastic. As for the lemon meringue tart, the crust was incredibly crumbly, kind of like a graham cracker texture. I had that with a pot of tea and sat outside, it was great. We really enjoyed the bread & pastries at Chambelland. Their 'sweet bread' which was sort of focaccia-like in texture but also soft and buttery like brioche, was divine. We tried the one with chocolate and orange peel...yum! We also enjoyed a lovely pear & frangipane tart with a rice and buckwheat crust as well as a pissaladiere. The pastry is great but the bread is really the star of the show here. Their sourdough slab bread (we got the one with seeds) is unusual in shape but divine in flavor. Excellent food even if you're not looking for "gluten free"! We had two kinds of delicious bread, a chocolate tart, and a sweet potato/goat cheese/spinach sandwich! It was all delicious! Make sure you ask them to warm up the bread...it makes a huge difference. We also had an espresso to drink with the chocolate tart and it was just okay. Not as good as many other espresso/coffee places in Paris, but still okay. Overall, I'd give it a 4.5 star rating! read more

Swoon-worthy gluten free pastries and lovely cafe seating - which isn't something I found at other gluten-free cafés in Paris -- so you can enjoy your pastry like a local, with an espresso and sidewalk seat to watch the world go by. Coming from Montreal I was amazed by the fines herbs bread, we have nothing comparable in the gluten free department. For the first time in a long time I had real bread and an amazing sandwich! This was such a dream. I became extremely emotional having a choux pastry that tasted so realistic and was gluten-free. The staff was very kind and supportive to me in being indecisive because there are so many delicious options. I love the sweet orange and chocolate chip loaf and ordered far too much to take away for one person the jasmine flan cake was really lovely but I definitely recommend taking some sandwich bread for a bit of a picnic later on. Wife and two kids are gluten intolerant so made the trip to chambelland for a cake. The weather wasnt great on this day but was able to combine the trip with a walk to the bastille. Ok back to Chambelland, busy place, nice sandwich options all on square in house bread. Salads only one choice available which was lentil and tomato. Cakes choice of lemon meringue, chocolate or strawberry. They could do a lot more Of an offering in terms of salad and cakes but the place was very busy with lot of takeaways. The seating inside is very small only around 15 seats over 4 tables.Little retail shop also available thats sells confiture and packet of lentil/rice. Even if you're not gluten free, you wouldn't be able to tell that it was GF. I wish I could try all of the items. The flavors and textures from here can only be found at this bakery. We live in Houston and REALLY wish we had one of these. My wife has Celiac disease, so we never get to eat pastry. We visited several time while we were in Paris and never had a bad experience. It was a real treat for my wife to be able to enjoy crescents and eclairs. Everything was delicious and she never had an adverse reaction to anything we ate. The staff was very nice and spent time explaining how they prepare the pastries and answered ever question (and there were several) with great detail. I highly recommend this place especially if you are Gluten Free. read more
