I NEED to stop by this place every time I am in downtown Walnut Creek. ' If you love popcorn, this is a must stop on your East Bay adventure. There location has a boba tea section and a popcorn section; with this review only being around the popcorn section. Flavors: There are a multitude of flavors, like movie theater, kettle corn, double cheddar and chicago mix. Beyond that, there are specialty flavors that include Ube Caramel, Matcha, and Chocolate (note that these three flavors are more expensive. I have tried the Ube Caramel, Matcha, and Chicago mix; with a Chocolate popcorn just waiting for me to open. Based on what I have had, every flavor has been a 5/5 and the Chicago Mix is my personal favorite. Overall: I cannot recommend this pace enough and you need to get yourself here ASAP. read more

I was in Walnut Creek to go memorial dress shopping when I decided to have tea somewhere with my mother. She looked up this space (a mix of chaology and cornology) and we ended up having tea and extremely tasty (gluten free, dairy free, soy free) popcorn. I even considered trying to order more popcorn online after our visit because organic good popcorn is hard to find. The largest problems during our visit were that there wasn't an option for "drink in" metal tumblers and straws and that the bathroom was incredibly gross. Almost worse than BARTs. Now, it wasn't until I went to leave a review on Yelp that I read about the CEO's freak out. Let's just say that had I known, we would not have visited this location. read more

Cornology shares a space with Chaology. Free samples are offered. I personally recommend trying the truffle Parmesan. Flavors overall are on the safer side. At the end, we ended up ordering sweet corn which is supposed to be a less sweet version of kettle corn. I had a lack luster experience. Sadly, some of the pieces I ate still had unpopped/not fully popped kernels. It was good, but not good enough to drive all the way to Walnut Creek to enjoy again. Value isn't the best. read more

Review #134 - 2017 After coming to Chalogy so many times, we finally caved in and tried the popcorn at Cornology. I'm actually glad we did because I really liked the truffle parmesan and double cheddar. Joshua prefers the movie theater one. I like the fact that you can sample everything before you buy, which is nice that you don't have to wonder if you'll like a certain flavor and end up buying something that you may end up tossing. The employees here are all very friendly and accommodating. It can get a little pricy, especially when you decide to buy the bigger sizes. Although it is nice that you can combine the flavors in one bag. However, Joshua and I usually end up getting our own separate bags any way since he can finish a medium to himself in a day. The only downside, in my opinion is that you can't special order the flavors in the type of popcorn. I was told that there are two types of kernels that they use, one is the round popcorn and the other is butterfly popcorn, which is what they use for the double cheddar flavor (my daughter's favorite). Sadly, the butterfly popcorns have a lot of kernels so I can't give it to my daughter whole, meaning I'd have to eat the kernels and give her just the whites. It becomes overwhelming after you consume so much kernels, so I asked if they could use the round ones with the double cheddar flavor and I was told that it wouldn't work. They have about 10 different flavors, my favorites are the truffle parmesan and the double chedder. Staff is very friendly and offer samples to try if you can't decide. This is high quality premium popcorn. Organic and no GMO. Definitely worth the price, specially with the extended shelf life once you take it home. They sell organic non-GMO popcorn. They have different flavored popcorn. Their popcorn is fresh, and it is very good. I get their caramel popcorn which is something I cannot stop eating once I eat it. It is very addicting. They also have one located in Emeryville, I have never been there before, but my sister has that is why she suggested we go in to this one since it is a new establishment. It was my first time at acorn Ology and they let you sample the popcorn, I loved it, and so did my Mother because she ate half of my bag. Definitely give this place a try. read more

Nearly all of their flavors contain dairy. We sampled the only two that didn't contain dairy. The plain and the truffle popcorn that tasted plain. I didn't even taste a hint of truffle oil. I was actually looking forward to some kettle corn but left disappointed in this "gourmet" popcorn place. I would rather eat movie theater popcorn than the garbage they serve here. At least that's dairy-free, the way popcorn should be. Why don't they at least offer a non-dairy kettle corn? The only good thing about this place? They're co-located with Chalogy so you can at least get some non-dairy milk tea to drown your popcorn sorrows. As I told the business owner. I'm not alone in not enjoying my visit to this "gourmet" popcorn establishment. I sat at Chalogy for a good half hour and they didn't have a single customer. Chicago Girls love their Popcorn. I tried Cornology last week while in WC. We have Garrett's in Chicago to compare and Garrett doesn't even come close to the quality and taste of Cornology. We tried almost every single flavor and every single one was excellent. The flavors didn't taste artificial like most popcorn, they use high quality and organic products. This location is small and is always busy as it is a shared space with another vendor, but the popcorn itself deserves praise! I am obsessed with the chocolate drizzle popcorn--it is the best gift for the holiday season and Cornology even provides bows to decorate the packaging with. The popcorn also lasts for about a month if stored properly. Also recommend the truffle Parmesan popcorn and the cheddar cheese one. Staff is nice but there may be a little bit of a wait even if it doesn't look busy! read more

The concept of this place was cool but I think it was really overpriced popcorn made with Himalayan Pink Salt and I guess they never salt their popcorn like other places.. and they also mineralize theirs so it's healthier. They're a co business with Chalogy, sharing the space with them. Nice seating areas but the popcorn itself is not as flavorful or crispy as I would like. My fiancé just went to Chicago, and their cheddar and caramel didn't compare to Garrett's famous brand. Maybe they're still working out the recipes, but the ones I tried (Chicago style and truffle Parmesan) were just okay for me. Service was fantastic and staff is friendly. Although there hasn't been any indoor seating in a year or two the energy emitted by this place is incredible. This review is for their ice cream only. I'll be back for their boba though! We got their rolled ice cream and my biggest complaint is how expensive it is! $7.50 and there's only one size. Don't get me wrong, the flavor was good (although rolled ice cream isn't my very favorite in general) and it comes with some toppings but you have to pay more if you want any specific toppings. I've ordered from Cornology once and had a great experience. We ordered one cone bag of Truffle Popcorn and two bags of the Cheddar Popcorn (I think). The popcorn is flavored really well, at first I couldn't really tell, but as I continued eating, each bite was full of flavor. We got two bags of Cheddar because we wanted to keep one for the movies the next day and the guy helping us (I forget his name) was helpful by suggesting we seal one bag for tomorrow and leave the other open so he could give us the most possible rather than sealing off both. I don't have much else to say since we definitely spent more time in the Chaology part of the shop. But I'm also sure I'll be back for more popcorn. read more
