I am late with this review but I officially paid off my Carnote last year, I had about $2100 left to pay off , so I gave it in one lump sum , I got the title to my car extremely fast so I have no complaints, I appreciated how this company always encouraged me to pay something on my note , because I believe that's what helped me pay off of my loan quicker , many of us are not educated on car notes , debt , and the importance of on time payments , so this company taught me a lot about all of those things , I have since sold my paid off car and got another car note , I know I'm crazy , but thanks to this company I know what to do , with a car that's worth a higher amount ,the CF team will work with you ,so my advice is to always maintain communication to see what options they have to assist you !! read more

This company engages in unethical and unlawful conduct. Their workers are not properly trained or supervised. One of their employees waited until we left the home and then trespassed into our private backyard, opened doors, without permission. This is not speculation; it is captured clearly on video surveillance. When I raised this issue with Supervisor Bambi, her response was dismissive and showed no concern for the seriousness of illegal trespassing. For clarity, this behavior falls under California Penal Code §602, which prohibits unauthorized entry onto private property. The incident has also been reported to federal and state level authorities. If 0 stars were an option, it would be appropriate. read more

i will start, anyone who has a legitimate complaint against these people (not you missed payments and they did a repo they can legally do), but a legitimate they were incompetent complaint. You do two things, file a complaint with the CFPB (mostly gutted but they still deal with complaints), and also the DFPI in California. Dont waste time with the BBB, it gets lost in the shuffle. I traded in a car I had financed with them. let them know, kept in contact. After 30 days of the dealership not paying Challange financial, and keeping in contact..........I decided to make a payment as it was at 30 days. Turns out, the payoff had been sitting on someones desk for almost 3 weeks, (arrived 2-28-25) while they were of course demanding payment from me, and they couldnt even be honest, just suddenly my accoutn is cleared, okay, well, you owe me a few hundred dollars. Called in, was told it was mailed. Waited 10 days, called again, now was told not mailed, it could be 45 days until they send it. Yeah, they are good on holding your money, and the payoff was from a Major Genesis Dealership, not some rinky place. Kept waiting, finally here we get to the end of may, I call in again. This time they said, and I quote, (mostly word for word as I remember) "You have to understand, we have had some changes in the company and we are backed up" Guess what, there are regulations, and being a professional finance company who will hit my credit, and repo my car, you dont get to say you have changes, or you are backed up, that is honestly not my issue, run your business. None of us get to avoid bills and tell people, ehhhh wait another 50 days. So here is the kicker that make me think these people are either incompetent, liars, or just have a serious attitude problem. 1)Theyr ecevied the pay off 3-28-25 and told me they hadnt (incompetence or a lie) 2) They let me make a payment as they made collection calls even though they ahd the pay off (incompetence or attitude issue) 3) They lied and told me I had been refunded- just a lie 4) They said they were too backed up to issue my refund-well thats incompetence. but the biggest laugh of all...................it is 5-24-25, I received the check today. The check is dated over 2 months ago, yes, for 3-20-25 Seriously, as someone who works in finance, I have filed my CFPB complaint, will be doing the DFPI next week. If they are giving you any run around, this is what you do. Normally i am easy going, but to get this straightened out, I had to forcefully explain who I will be contacting to get someone to pick my check up off the desk and quit being too damn lazy to mail it, only then were they responsive. I called this number assuming it's customer service since this is the only number listed on Google when you search it. The woman who answered was not helpful; she was very rude. I am going through a serious matter, and I just needed some help and guidance. I spoke of my situation very politely and what it was regarding just needing a kind hand, and she replied, "Well, how can I help if I don't know who you are?" I felt that was a very unapproachable way to come at someone, and I let her know that is not how customer service should be approached. She said, "Well, this isn't customer service; this is the legal department," and I corrected her, stating, "Regardless, it should be approached." "Hello, ma'am, can we start off with your name and info?" I asked her name, and she hung up by stating, "Okay, ma'am, you have a good day." I am not a nagging old woman; I am a 28-year-old woman that has no reason to take my time to write something like this unless it really upset me. I understand we all have hard days at work, but some days are worse for others, and it was one of those days for me, so dealing with such an attitude just added to the palette. I have done my fair share of working for customer service, and if this message is going to be acknowledged like it was no big deal, calls should be recorded and played back. Fist off let me say this company is new to me and i have only made one payment with them. My car was broken into which i have a police report for. I called to let them know my cards were stolen and I'll be making another payment in 3 days. The first rep was extremely rude. she went as far to ask me how I feed my kids. what does that have to do with my car being broken into. I hang up to call back to speak to another rep who made sure he stated the last rep was his FRIEND and coworker. He would not let me talk and asked me do I go to work and can i afford my care note. I never stated I needed an extension nor did i state i was filling for hardship. I simply needed to update my number due to my phone being stolen along with all my cards. I hang up and i spoke to Juan who was very pleasant. Bottom line is this company is horrible, and I wouldn't even refer anybody to this company if they were the last option. All of their reps need training HORRIBLE!! I hope they have a lot of security the way they talk to people. I wish I could give them no stars. read more

These people are not a good company. Car I bought unfortunately broke down not even a year after buying it kept paying t get it fixed but got to the point where I couldn't afford to keep fixing it. Asked them to come repo the car in February 2025, no one has came to take it, it's been sitting there for 4 months now. They called me threatening to garnish my wages for the vehicle even before the car was sold at auction. I keep receiving texts saying the car is not at the address I said it was. (It's been at the address for months) I have sent proof and time stamps of it being there. I have neighbors saying that it's been there and no one has even attempted to come get the car. This is crazy. I do not want the car and made it very clear. They keep lying saying it's not at the location even though I've sent proof it is. This company is a absolute joke! So recently a car that I helped someone get got repod and I had no idea about it til I got a call from Elvia or ELVRIA . The first thing she said to me was "you have an amount of ____ due if not payed we will take legal actions".(mind you this is the first time they have ever called me for anything and the person and I that I helped were not on good terms so we had no communication prior to this) I had no idea what she was talking about and to be honest it came out kind of rude so I asked what car and got everything down. Then I made a payment plan that would work with ME because I AM PAYING OFF A CAR THAT WAS SOLD OFF then I get a resignation letter to my email. I look over the email and I had a conversation with the person I helped get that car with and we did the math and I was going to end up paying more then what the total amount was. That person was nice enough to call and asked about it and when they said they did the math and asked where was the money that I already put in going to and then they got hunged up on. For a whole month me and that person kept getting harassed to sign the letter but they didn't want to explain what the extra charges were for. Today I did sign the letter because I got tired of being harassed every day and I also asked for the recording of the first call they ever gave me and as someone who's paying this company got denied. I then asked for the name of the person who works the messaging line so I can document everything down and they have left me on read. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE NO HELP AND THIS COMPANY IS A JOKE! If I can get the company's owner to talk to me personally that would be great because this is ridiculous! I have been threw 2 car loans now with Challenge Financial . Around 5 years ago I was in a bad spot with losing my job and I called and got to speak to Art oregel. With 5 kids at the time (now 7 lol) I was the last step before repo , Art spent the time on the phone explaining all options and did not treat me like a bad person at all , it was the opposite he had compassion, understanding, open minded and honest. I had set up a payment to bring the account out of that department and the next day I had to run to the bank and he stayed on the phone with me to make sure everything was going ro be OK with the payment. Fast forward to last week , I was off work for covid and did not qualify for the 80 hours of pay and with 7 kids the 10 day quarantine went to 18 without pay . I was so nervous to call as this was the first time in a year of owning my new car where I was put in a bad spot ..... Who was the person to answer... Art and the thing that makes this story special is that I did not remember his name .... It was his VOICE ... and I told him that . And yet again I told him the situation and he was able to help resolve the problem and now it's back to A positive future. Thank you to all of you but most of all thank you Art for doing a fantastic job with customer service and most of all being human , we all get in bad spots , some people are dishonest about car loans but you can tell when someone is just down on there luck . Worst financial service I have ever had. Most unsecured loans show a break down of how monies are applied to the loan, not this company. Their statements only show balance ( which isn't even correct) and payment due. We are paid over a year ahead of schedule and they tried to charge us a late fee. The amount of the payment going towards interest should go down each month, but from June to July it went up $13. No one can give a straight answer about anything. Find a different company to use if possible. read more

Honestly everything started off good and the person helping me before was awesome Fred. He was always very understanding. Communicated with me about everything to me and when I was a little late or when the car I just bought engine went out he was extremely helpful and even offered financial help (which I did not take) . Regardless of the situation he always showed consideration and understanding. I know his job his hard being put in awkward positions reminding people of their payment. But he did it in a way where you felt safe, open to communicate and established a good customer relationship to where honestly before this recent on going situation I would have recommended and have recommended prior . But recently due to some health concerns in my work environment. I left my job and started working else where, still I was managing the payments but as I'm waiting for this job to come through with my first check taking way longer then I thought. I am behind two payments. So I completely understand the concern on their half but i guess being two months late my account was handed over to I believe her name is Elvia not sure but oh goodness . What a dramatic change in customer service. Being un reasonable at all cost. As if she almost wants to make it so you don't pay and get it taken away. Very rude, sarcastic and bitter and she knows it. I could understand and would say hey she's doing her job . But no., texting me threats and lies is not doing your job . Besides the actions not taken from her threats . All she is doing is stressing me out and I'm in able to focus on what I have to do and make that money I need to pay . Thinking the car is going to be taken worrying if I'll be able to get to work. Not being able to sleep at night . . No way this is how to encourage someone to pay their note. To top it off this has nothing to do with challenge financial but I had a house fire and lost everything my whole house burnt down. I let her know and she did not show any sympathy, or say the normal (sorry for your loss or anything) she isn't obligated to nor do I expect it but those kind of customer service skills that she lacks do make a difference in wanting to work with a company that's going to loan you money. Anyway I put 4,000 dollars in repairs i got receipts on top the loan I borrowed. (Because the auto dealer where I purchase could not fix it if anything my car was so Mickey moused the bmw auto repair in Long Beach were concerned on who worked on it prior saying what they did if anything was causing more damage to the car. That's (los compadres auto dealership) incase anyone wants to know . I have financed many cars in my life and this financial service has to be the worst by far. They took over my contract on- feb,7th it's Feb 13th and the put a repo out on my car over a misunderstanding via the banks. It has been a absolute nightmare trying to talk and work things out with my case worker, Vicky S, in customer service.
