    Ceaser salad

We had the date night special. Food for the most part was delicious. The steak a bit too fatty for me. Side dishes were awesome. Creamed Spinach and Mushroom. And potato dish. Garlic toast superb and Ceaser Salad awesome. Duncan our server was wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly. The views were great and of course the cheesecake best ever. Would definitely go back.

This is more of a 4.5 stars. The only reason it's not 5 is that I don't think we were wowed enough for the price. The service here was exceptional. Our server was very attentive and friendly. He quickly went through the menu with us and even brought out all the cuts of steak for us to see. He also went over each cut, explained the difference and the recommended doneness. We got cheese toast as an appetizer which we both enjoyed. They had Japanese wagyu the day we went but we opted for Alberta prime beef. We ordered the porterhouse to share which came with some salt so you could add more to your liking. It also included 2 sides - we got upgraded sides of the Brussels sprouts and gnocchi. The Brussels sprouts in my opinion wasn't the best pairing with the steak flavour-wise, however it was still really good.

It was a beautiful space, great views and attentive staff but the execution needs work. The food was very mediocre. I had the 14oz ribeye and it was tough, grisly and not cooked to the proper temp. I did mention this with some constructive criticism and the staff and management took it well and also removed my meal from the bill. I genuinely wanted to provide honest feedback so they could make adjustments and improvements for the future guests. My friend's ribeye had the same issues but he was hungry so he ate it all anyway. On a good note, my wife's tenderloin was excellent and cooked perfectly. The truffle gnocchi was also delicious as well as the truffle baked potato. Drinks were also quite good. The smoked whiskey old fashions were worth mentioning. Sadly Chairman's was all show no go. Better communication as to how the steaks are best prepared could have made a difference. The manger said the recommended temp for the ribeyes are medium which I found odd as I generally order them medium rare. Overall I was underwhelmed as I had high hopes for this place. I would however maybe give it another shot if I am ever in the area again. Tip: no hats allowed on the dining room. This was not mentioned anywhere on the website so this was a surprise. We ended up in the lounge which was fine. They honestly should remove this archaic "rule"

The ambience, hands-down, amazing, and the food did not disappoint. Everything from start to finish from the seafood tower to the Wagyu tomahawk ribeye was awesome. The service provided by Evalina what is superb. In town for business would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. I will be back any time. I'm in Calgary. Keep up the great work.

Had a lovely dinner last night out on the patio. View was excellent as was the atmosphere. Ordered from the dinning menu. From appetizer to dessert, first class. Server Ashley could not have been better. A little hiccup had the manager out immediately and immediately resolved to complete satisfaction. They went over the top to accommodate for the hiccup, a class move. Food gets 5 stars as does service. Can't wait to go back.

We had an amazing dinner date @chairmansyyc! This restaurant is to die for. I can't get over the decor. . Unfortunately, they didn't have the 36oz wagyu tomahawk that night, but they suggested the 14oz tajima wagyu and it did not disappoint! I'm not a fan of steak in general, but I would come back to eat this. Also got the 14oz ribeye with fries, black truffle gnocchi and pan seared scallops. . We look forward to coming back when it's warmer so we can see the lake

The decorations and even the washroom were extraordinarily beautiful. Every little detail was not over looked. Even the menu lights up when you open it. If you eat on the restaurant side, you have one of the best views of mahogany lake. If you opt for the lounge, you can have a view of the fountain. Both views are stunning. It's a place you definitely want to check out for special occasions. I had the mussels and fries which were decent. The mussels were cooked to perfection in a tomato based sauce that was good. However, I wish they would provided me some bread to soak up more of the sauce. The fries were interestingly topped with sugar and aioli sauce to dipped on the side. To celebrate, I had the Moscow mule which was delicious! For dessert, I had the cheesecake that was extra creamy with a nice brittle on top. Although everything looks fabulous, the mussels and the cheesecake were not as unforgettable as the restaurant. Since this is a steakhouse, I will definitely have to come back to give it another go, but with steaks next time.

We started with the appetizers, the beef carpaccio and Caesar salad, both were excellent and really set a good tone for the evening. The carpaccio was well-seasoned and fresh, and the salad had a nice balance of creamy and crisp. For our main, we went with the Canada Prime bone-in porterhouse, which came with two sides. The jalapeño creamed corn tasted more like jalapeño grits than corn, which threw me off a bit, it wasn't really my thing. The twice-cooked fingerlings with bacon, chives, and sour cream, on the other hand, were delicious, crispy, flavorful, and well-balanced. Unfortunately, the steak itself missed the mark for me. It arrived lukewarm, not hot like you'd expect from a high-end steakhouse, which was disappointing. For a cut that's supposed to be the star of the show, the temperature really detracted from the experience. To finish off, we kept it light with two scoops of gelato, one cherry vanilla and the other a lemon sorbet. Both were refreshing and hit the spot for a light, sweet ending. Service was definitely a strong point, our server was friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the night. Overall, it was a mixed experience: great apps, strong service, but the main event which was the steak it just didn't deliver like I'd hoped. I'd give it another try, but probably order something different next time.

The lobster mac and cheese was my least favourite, it wasn't bad more like average, not a lot of lobster pieces.

The "baked" potato was microwaved vs actually baked And it was so cool that the butter I put on it didn't melt. Ordered a side of garlic prawns and got 3 small unflavored shrimp instead that were maybe an inch long if you stretched it out. my sons fries were undercooked (some weren't even golden, they were still potato white) And said some of them were kinda crunchy/stiff. I had the owners cut of prime rib and it was smaller than the last two times I had been to smugglers where I ordered a smaller cut (first mate) And it was cold, even the au jus was barely warm. Also probably the smallest Yorkshire pudding I've ever had there. Maybe 1/3 the size you use to get. We ordered desert and it took newly 30 mins for it to be brought out - my son's "warm" apple krisp was cold he said. i have been smugglers at least A dozen times in the last 3 years and more so in the last decade and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. In both service and quality. As it stands I would not recommend - where as before I always raved about the smugglers inn. For a $400+ bill for myself and my 3 kids, I def expected way better quality, actual warm food and not have to wait a combined time of over an hour for service. It was also my son's birthday, and he found the experience very disappointing and said he never wants to go back. When we booked we said it was a birthday, we mentioned it was his birthday and the server didnt even say happy birthday to him. Oh and it wasn't even that busy when we got there... there was maybe 10 costumers when we arrived. I might try it again due to past visits being great. But another experience like tonight and I'll probably take my prime rib expeditions else where. I doubt my kids will ever go back as the complained how horrible it was the entire drive home. I usually don't give a lot of reviews but it was such a sub-par experience I had to report it.

The duck & waffles was a confit duck leg, vanilla liege waffles, foie gras gravy with a bistro salad that had a yuzu vanilla vinaigrette. Duck was delicious. I liked the salad, but honestly felt that the vanilla in the vinaigrette would be best removed. However, that's my personal opinion. The waffles were... ok. It was like eating cake and bits of sugar. I mentioned to the server that the waffles had chunks of sugar in them, but she said that they were sugar coated. To be honest, I'm not convinced. there was chunks of white sugar, not a glaze...In the waffle itself. And the batter was very heavy, thick and cake like. Not the best waffles. French toast was great, very filling and delicious. It has a foie gras caramel, maple pecans, maple caramelized apples, whipped cream cheese and back bacon. This can easily be your new favourite. My mimosa was amazing, best mimosa I've honestly ever had. Americano wasn't really anything special, especially for $6. While it was a decent breakfast, I don't think I would order waffles again from here unless they change their recipe. I was also a little disappointed they didn't have more than 2 flavours of latte.
