Thank you for making our granddaughters 16th birthday so special. She was raving about Ceasars, the food, the decor, the ambiance, all of it was perfect. And the seat beside the fire was the perfect location for us as well. We appreciate the consideration you gave us for this special event. Thank you! read more

This week we decided to try a restaurant we had never visited before: Caesar's Steak House. A old classic style in Calgary. Making a reservation was easy, and as early diners, we arrived at 6:00 p.m. The service was wonderful from start to finish. The staff was attentive, friendly, and helped make for a very enjoyable evening. We started with the tableside Caesar salad and tableside steak tartare, both of which were expertly prepared and added a fun, classic steakhouse touch to the experience. Our waiter was engaging, knowledgeable, and contributed to a relaxed and enjoyable evening. The steaks were cooked perfectly, exactly as ordered, and the food throughout the meal was excellent. To finish, we shared the cheesecake, which was phenomenal and a perfect ending to dinner. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because of our table location. We were seated at a two-top, and my husband was facing the service station where servers were entering orders throughout the evening. It wasn't a major issue, but it did take away slightly from the overall ambiance. Overall, the food, service, and experience were excellent, and we would gladly return. If you're looking for a classic Calgary steakhouse with great tableside service and perfectly cooked steaks, Caesar's is definitely worth a visit. read more

MEMORABLE DINNER AND WONDERFUL SERVICE We recently dined at Caesar's Steakhouse & Cocktail Bar in downtown Calgary. We love the old school character of the dining room - deep red leather chairs, crisp white tablecloths, marble columns and crystal chandeliers - paired with a dramatic open flame grill for the restaurant's famous aged Alberta steaks. Having dined here years ago, we were amazed that it has remained exactly how we remembered :o). We started with the Classic Caesar Salad and Baby Lettuce Insalata (each $16 CAD). It takes skill to prepare simple salads well and these cold crisp and flavorful salads were the best. For our entrees, we selected the New York Strip Loin ($59 CAD for 10.5 oz) and the T-Bone Steak ($89 CAD for 20 oz). For sides, we had the Broccolini ($14 CAD) and Onion Rings ($13 CAD). Our steaks came with a large twice baked potato topped with sour cream, bacon and chives (other choices were fries, rice pilaf or cottage cheese). Little did we know that our dinner would become a special event above and beyond the meal itself. When the steaks arrived, the floor manager came to our table and offered to carve our steak. Our waiter stood by while another waiter wheeled a gueridon station to our table and another brought a carving board and knife. With great expertise and precision, the floor manager himself sliced our steak off the bone into beautiful succulent pieces. Our waiter later shared that the floor manager started at Caesar's as a waiter and the table-side carving by the floor manager was a rare event. Need I say that the steaks were absolute perfection :o) Reluctant to end our special evening, we finished with the Tiramisu ($17 CAD) and Cheesecake ($14). The tiramisu was our favorite - served parfait-style in a large lowball glass, the bold flavors of the espresso and coffee liqueur really shone through. Not to be outdone, the generous slice of cheesecake was decadently rich and creamy - a perfect ending to a memorable meal. read more

A Calgary institution. Old school steakhouse downtown. You walk in and it's the typical old steakhouse ambiance with the usual furniture and dressed up servers. The starting the show is the open grill - believe it's a mix of gas and charcoal. Seated adjacent to it so could watch the show. Had the classic rib eye - extremely flavourful. Had a bit of filet - surprisingly tasty being a leaner cut of meat. It's nice that you get bread and one side with your meal and it's not à la carte like other steakhouses. Caesar salad made tableside - happy with it along with cherries jubilee - quite the show. Definitely a great steakhouse for a treat!! read more

Pretty filling juicy steak in a fine establishment! We arrived and there was a coatcheck! We came to celebrate an occasion in the evening and dressed nicely. Most people seem to be well dressed nicely though there were a few people in tshirts and backpacks. We got tableside Caesar salad which was quite satisfying. We ordered steak Neptune and bone in ribeye. All came to doneness to order with twice baked potatoes with sides added tableside. The Neptune was a smaller filet minion about 6oz versus getting a la carte at 8oz and adding the shrimp, asparagus and bernaise sauce. The atmosphere is very "red" and comfy! There's a grill station where you can see steaks as they're prepared, unless you order steak Diane which is prepared tableside. They have valet parking but we parked on the street free after posted metered hours. read more

Honestly, this restaurant is so overrated. The steak was super salty. The server did not give us our tiramisu. The restaurant is only nice looking. Do not go here. read more

This place was amazing! Hands-down, the best steak in Calgary that we had! If I was back here, I would definitely go again! Obviously, we got the steak. We also had some wine and some amazing ice wine! We did not have a reservation, but we able were able to get in. Once you get inside, it is a beautiful restaurant! Apparently one of the presidents of the US came to dine here.... I forget which one.... The service was amazing. Our waiter was awesome. He let us split a steak, which was great because I don't normally do that. But also this steak he had to cook in front of us, which was really cool. Fire! The cheesy bread was so good I wanted more. I highly recommend this place! read more

Wonderful spot for a date night or special dinner. The ambiance is all around king Cesar's theme and the centre open flame grill is a truly unique experience. Service is 10/10 and very classy. The steak was delicious and fries were thin and crispy. Dessert was single portion and not too heavy. The salmon could use more seasoning though (more salt, pepper, herbs, sauce... anything!) and more cook to it (was still rare in the middle). I've also never had salmon taste so "fishy" before, even frozen ones from the grocery store tasted fresher. For that reason, I've dropped the rating to a 3. Everything else was great! read more

Caesar's Steakhouse delivers exactly what you want from a classic, old-school steakhouse experience. The atmosphere is classy and traditional, and the attentive service stood out from the moment we sat down. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly. The food was excellent across the board. The ribeye was rich, flavorful, and cooked perfectly, while the shrimp cocktail was fresh and delicious. The caramelized onion soup hit the spot as an appetizer, but the real challenge was trying not to fill up on the incredible cheesy garlic toast they bring out to start the meal. The most unique part of the experience was the open-flame grill in the center of the dining room. Watching the steaks being cooked over the fire adds a fun, interactive element and reinforces the restaurant's old-school. Caesar's is definitely worth a visit! read more

We sat in the upstairs lounge which does not offer table service but does offer full menu. The food was outstanding! The petit filet was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The salmon was delicious and such a generous portion that we could not finished. Please order the twice baked potato - crunchy outside and fluffy inside. Our server was upbeat and friendly. Had great suggestions on where to go for an after dinner cocktail. Decor was old school but elegant. Surpasses any of the local steak chains we have in California, i.e. Morton's and Ruth's Chris. read more

The best Steakhouse experience we have had. The entire staff was personable, friendly and went over and above to insure that we had a top notch experience! The steaks were cooked to our temperatures and it was amazing to watch them being grilled near our table in the dining room. Caesar salad table side was exceptional as to be expected for a high end steak house. Drinks and wine were perfect. Sadly, we had no room for dessert. read more

Great steaks and don't miss the cheese bread. Our server Sylvia was wonderful, friendly, funny and made the experience even better. Will definitely be back. read more

Great steak restaurant that has something for everybody, they even cook some dishes in fire in front of you! We made reservations for two on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was nearly packed. We got seated immediately along the wall up the stairs, great seating away from folks for two people. Service was incredibly friendly, especially our waitress. I got the filet mignon with wild rice and baked potato and my husband got the rib eye. Tons of food! Before that we shared a shareable caesar salad which I highly recommend. Honestly, this may have been my favorite part of the meal. I love caesar salad and this may have been the best one I've had that I can remember. The sauce was very unique and delicious, tons of lettuce and croutons. Overall we devoured the entire thing. A basket of complimentary bread was had - cheesy bread and the regular ones. I honestly didn't eat much of it given I was already full from the salad. So when my entree came I was stuffed after a few bites. Definitely worth the $ given I had leftovers to bring home. During the experience we got to see other tables ordered the special items which has the workers cook with fire in front of you. The table next to us got the steak diane and we saw the worker work her magic. It was pretty cool watching the flames. As for dessert, we tried the noto gelato which was very good. We also got a complimentary dessert which I enjoyed, it was meringue and forgot what else. So delicious! I definitely recommend this steakhouse if you're in Calgary! read more

Excellent filet mignon, perfect. Not inexpensive, but worth the price. Comfortable ambiance, good service. Happy to tip appropriately.

Booked a reservation because it was highly recommended. All the staff was friendly except for our waiter, she maybe had a bad day. But several bad incidents included cutlery falling to the table and my seat. Steak was well cooked but bone was removed by our waiter. -bone in ribeye w/ baked potato -scampi w/ lemon garlic oil -Caesar salad -broccolini -onion rings -Caesar cocktail had to order bcuz it was invented here but did not enjoy it at all... it was salty and acidic read more

Awesome spot for steak! I'm visiting from out of town and was impressed by the service. Very nice establishment with good steak. I ordered the ribeye but I preferred my boyfriend's filet mignon. Baked potato was nice and I enjoyed the toppings of sour cream, green onion and bacon bits. The cheese bread was alright and the Caesar salad was good too. Broccolini was a miss for me - I enjoy mine with a bit of a char. Overall, enjoyed my meal with a nice bottle of red. read more

Incredible find in the Core of Calgary. 50+ year old institution. One of the best steak houses I have been in a while. Amazing atmosphere First class service Amazing staff The meal was amazing The table size flame made steaks are so different with your steak flammed right in front of you. The wine selection is extensive and reasonable with its price point. I would highly recommend if you are in the area. read more

Debating as to whether to give Caesars 4 or 5 stars. Maybe the only things that kept it from getting 5 was limited choices of beer and wine by the glass, sides not up to their usual high standards, and out of date decor. But four stars is really good. It all comes down to the meat. The Filet Mignon is the centerpiece. The small size is 8.5 ounces but all three we were served looked larger. The medium rare, medium rare plus, and medium orders were all perfectly cooked. Personally, I had the t-bone and it delivered on the promise of the meatiness of a New York strip with the tenderness of a filet. My fav cut when cooked correctly and Caesar's delivered. Not sure exactly what seasoning they use but it adds flavor without being too salty (which is common at steakhouses). The sides were serviceable but not special. Double stuffed potatoes are the default but these lack the creamy mouthfeel. You can get a regular baked potato but mine was dry. There were veggie options and (surprisingly) cottage cheese. The service was impeccable. Yes Caesar's is expensive -- maybe a little more than it needs to be -- but I very much enjoyed the experience. read more

Very disappointing.....haven't been to Caesar's in several years. Went with my husband for a Saturday night 6pm reso celebratory dinner with expectations of a fine steak dinner last night. $69 for an 8oz Filet Mignon steak that did not taste like a good quality steak, ordered with "marinated cucumber & tomatoes" which equated to about $1 worth of flavourless vegetables chopped up. Added the $8 blue cheese gratin to the steak...the waiter noted to expect strong blue cheese flavour (which I love)...it was barely detectable. I suspect even the waiter knew the meal would be disappointing as he sent a preemptive order of extra cheese bread to the table. The made in house cheesecake was the only highlight in terms of food. Service & ambience were both average at best. Definitely not worth the $332 we spent all in. Calgary has so many good restaurant choices...you are dropping the ball Caesars! You can't rest on your reputation because, if our experience was anything to go by, that reputation is going downhill fast! read more

Always good food (phenomenal caesar salad) and great service. A reliably good restaurant.

New York Strip Loin (medium rare), Rack of Lamb (medium rare), Pan Fried Shrimp, and Caesar Salad were all excellent through and through. Service was great especially when servers recognized my hearing loss condition without my indication and relocated our seating into a more intimate area. Very classy establishment, we wished some of the patrons respected the recommended dress code, noise, and direct cell phone use as indicated in the reservation notes. read more

No wonder this place has been around for 50 years. They could teach a masterclass on restaurant service. I remember going there in 1979 as a high school grad and being wow'd. While the room and menu really haven't changed much since then, it is still a wow. The Caesar Salad, served tableside is a great show, and the result is so cold, crisp and favorful. The chilled bowls that it is served in seems so simple - so why does no-one else do it? It changes the experience totally. We all had the Chateaubriand, again, served tableside. It is amazing that the servers can do such beautiful plating, it's really impressive. Of course it was delicious. Perfectly crisp veg, steak cooked exactly how we asked, the old school re-baked potato. And the final touch, table-served condiments for the potato. It really brought a smile to my face. This is not a cheap experience, but it certainly is a great experience. read more

Seeing the steakhouse appear in a few different blog posts, I decided to make reservations for dinner. We were one of the first patrons for the day at 5pm and were seated next to the open grill! It was quite amazing to be able to see the chef cook the steaks and there was a barrier between the dining area and grilling area so that smoke would now fly everywhere. We ordered the fillet mignon, rib eye, a side of asparagus, and shrimp cocktail. Two sides also came with the steak and we choose the twice baked potato and toast- half garlic and half cheese. All of the food was very delicious and I would go back again the next time I go back to Calgary! read more

This place has been around longer than me (47 years), I have been coming here since I was a kid. The steak is always high quality, that garlic bread is killer, nothing much changes here. That makes it good for food, but not so great for service and ambiance. Still would keep coming back just due to the memories and that steak is high quality. Prices are somewhat high, but good quality meats. read more

My wife and I recently made a reservation and went on a Saturday night. We both ordered the 10oz Rib Eye steak and had a great meal. The waiter was very attentive to us and we also had a separate bus boy filling our water glass (after almost every sip). I also order a Bacon Caesar drink that came with a large thick slice of candied bacon. The drink was good but I found it odd eating the cold hard bacon that was in my drink, but being candied made it quite an experience. I did enjoy it. Our steaks were done just right, I had added the cracked peppercorns and Demi-glaze on mine and chose the double cooked baked potato with sour cream and bacon. We also split a Caesar salad but not the one made at the table, which seemed overpriced for a salad. We would certainly go again or recommend other to try for a special occasion, it was a great evening. read more

From booking on your reservation web site and welcome to the service from Mark and the meal, it was a fantastic experience, as usual. My son and I first met Mark in Feb 2024 so when he greeted us again this Feb (we do an annual ski trip to Sunshine), I reminded him of when we first met. He was surprised that I remembered, but I did because of his amazing life story of immigrating from the Ukraine and work experience there. That experience definitely supported a a second fantastic meal! We hope to see him again next year. The table-side Caesar, striploin steak with peppercorn sauce, and double baked potato were delicious because they were made and cooked to perfection; exactly as ordered. My only recommendation is regarding the drinks. For a Dark & Stormy it needs to be served in a copper mug with less ice. As it was served the tall glass had too much ice and required a straw to drink it, which is not the best way to serve the drink. read more

I went to this place with some friends and this is my view: - atmosphere is ok a bit old decoration but place is maintained - servers are great. I think this is the strongest point - price is way over expensive. It looks they want to pay the rent with one meal. - food is good but it doesn't go with what they charge . Definitely not the size of meal you would expect. All things considered, if you are a couple and want to burn $600CAD in a dinner then this is your place as a trial. read more
