Jimmy was recommended by an electrician and we were glad he was. We have a 1950s home with basically no attic and had central heat with old ducts but needed AC. We had over 6 companies come out for bid and none were as passionate as Jimmy was about the job and about doing it right. He took the extra time to plan out the job as if it was his house and was over communicative which in contrast to another contractor we were using for another job at the same time who wasn't, was a godsend. I was referred to Jimmy through a neighbor after moving into our new (to us) home and finding out over this past summer that our system was not functioning properly. Jimmy came out on short notice during his peak season and treated us like we were old friends on first visit. If personality wasn't enough, Jimmy has the knowledge and experience to go with it. I felt 100% confident moving forward with him, for a 5-Ton Heat Pump System w/ Attic Installed Air Handler and all new Duct Work. It was a retrofit from an old-school Hallway-Mounted Furnace System. It's clear how well they work together and have total control of the other crew members. Jimmy is my hero! We had air installed prior to putting our house on the market and hired the neighbors brother. Unfortunately, the entire experience was a nightmare, including water damaged ceilings (not great when trying to sell a house). Jimmy was referred to me by our cabinet installer who witnessed me nearly lose it over the incompetence of the neighbors brother. Jimmy came in, reworked the whole install, adding drains and insulation to the t-vents (or whatever they are called) and a bunch of other stuff that wasn't done right. He was on time, clean and incredibly understanding. I could tell he felt bad for what we had been through with the previous installer and he gave us a deal (which I am so thankful for). I can't say enough about the 5 star service Jimmy provided us! Not only is he professional but truly honest kind of guy. We had him out to do a "tune up" on our 20 yr old A/C unit but after he checked everything out he said everything was in good working condition and nothing really needed to be done other than replacing the filters more often to extend the life of the unit and that there was no charge. He did give us some options for if and when our unit finally dies of what options there were as a replacement and what the cost would be. Our 28 year old air conditioning system bit the dust during the hottest part of this summer. I called a company out that had been recommended to us and the service tech did a very thorough job of going over all the problems with our system, and we knew it was pointless to try and fix it. They then sent a saleswoman out to give us an estimate, which almost gave me apoplexy. We knew it would be an expensive job since we needed 2 units for our rambling house, but her estimate was the highest. I got 3 more estimates and though Jimmie Chaffin was not the lowest in price (he wasn't the highest, either), we were the most confident in the job he would do. He was so knowledgeable and you could tell he took great pride in his work. The job went so smoothly and now we are cool again. He and his helpers were polite, easy to have around, and at the end of the day they left everything neat and clean. There was very little disruption. Of course our AC decided to stop working on the hottest day of the year. We found Jimmy on here and saw he got great reviews. He was booked, but was able to stop by on his way to another job since he probably knew we were dying with no air. He could tell what the problem was right away. Had a new AC/Heating system installed in 2011 by this organization. Installation was very good and clean. BUT the system never worked when it came to Air Conditioning. For four years Jimmy and several of his technicians came to our home and it was the same story, hardly any air movement what so ever. Finally after FOUR years and LOTS Of money he said he couldn't fix the problem. Said he had spent Lots of money trying to fix the problem. FUNNY, He forgets I spent LOTS of money for a System he installed and never, ever worked properly. I will say that he recommended another dealer that came in to our home and installed a new unit. Everything works terrific and we can enjoy our AC. I would not recommend this company for any of your AC/Heating needs. They DO NOT Backup their work and they are expensive. read more
