Chad's a great mechanic. He will go the extra mile to fix your car. He has worked on all of my cars over the years. Just resently I had a problem with my Kia which always seems to mess with me as far as the check engine light every year or every other year when it comes time to get it smogged. Always something different it seems. This time it had to be driven at a certain speed for a length of time in order for the computer to clear it. We drove for miles in order to get it on a road where we could do that with no traffic. Anyways got it cleared and took it right over to the smog shop and passed. I took my car in for a rear end squeak and Chad identified the problem that a large chain shop could not or would not locate. I scheduled an appointment and dropped off my car the morning of and as promised he had it done by the time quoted. Chad is the solo mechanic along with his receptionist in a small very clean and well organized shop. I asked Chad to Identify a leak and as requested he found said leak. I found Chad after a Google search for brake services. I called him up and was able to get in the same day. In discussing needs, he said he quotes high, assuming everything would need to be done (pads, rotors, labor). Once he did the free inspection, he was able to determine that I only needed rear pads immediately (they were squeaking a lot and as he showed me after the service, the pads were down to bare bones). The front ones are needed as well, but he said that it is not an immediate need, but should be done soon. I also got an oil change that was overdue, and his price for a synthetic oil change was quite a bit lower than a quick lube place. About a week ago I had my car's battery replaced at Auto Zone, as it was pretty corroded. Afterwards my car's engine was still making a terrible screeching sound, and the lights on the dashboard were flickering. After doing some research I went in today and asked Auto Zone to check out my alternator. Upon opening the hood they immediately zoned in on the newly replaced battery. It was spewing acid. They didn't address the alternator during the visit, but since the battery was under warranty they replaced it and recommended that I give Chad a visit. When I called, Chad was on his lunch break but still took the time to hear me out, and let me swing by immediately. He checked it out, pointed out some possibilities, tested the battery, and quickly found out my alternator was on the fritz. We sat down in his office and crunched numbers. He was mindful of my budget and tried to find me the best deal on a new alternator. He had one delivered and made quick work of installing it. I'm someone who isn't particularly knowledgeable when it comes to cars-after he finished up he took the time to explain some things in the engine that needed upkeep. He noticed that I was extremely low on oil and added some of what he had left, and strongly urged me to address that soon. Overall I had a great experience. I was in and out in less than an hour or so, and my car sounds and feels great. Throughout our whole interaction I felt very comfortable. He's a kind and funny guy, and seems very genuine. I hope to God nothing else goes wrong with my car, but if it does I'd definitely return for the quality service I received today. :) read more
