This place is scary to say the least. We went to get a drink before a concert at Reliant. As we walked in there was an altercation between an employees boyfriend and a manager. The employees boyfriend was threatening the manager and cursing. He went into the back of the restaurant yelling for the manager to come out. I had not heard many pleasant things about a fast food restaurant that serves both cuasi-Mexican food with chicken wings. I wanted to try for myself, and everything was a complete disappointment. I used to really like this restaurant but after today I doubt that I will ever eat here again. They have had great lunch specials for years but today was not good. The food, was served luke warm and the portions are smaller now even though the lunch special price has increased, the tortillas were not cooked or even warm today and the benight was cold, they forgot to add it to my tray and just threw a cold one on when i asked for it. Absolutely HORRIFIC food!! It's currently 4:19 in the morning after me eating at this place and I'm waiting to throw it all up. As soon as the first bite went down i knew i was going to be sick. The margaritas were sour. The food was sour and tasted horrible. Rather than be "that" customer we took a few bites and left our food on the plate, paid for it and left. I wouldn't even bring any of it home to feed my dog because it's not safe enough. The food is the type of food you hear in the news that kills people. The business model is horrible & It's mainly all self serve. The bar was closed. The place was disgustingly dirty from shoes sticking to the floor to tables not being picked up. You could look at the food & tell it was bad, I'm debating calling the health department on them..There was no manager or higher ups there it's like everyone there was in their own & slow. Stopped in to Chacho's after the car show. I have heard better things about the other location but this one was kinda meh. The queso was thick but made with real cheese just made it hard to get it on chips. The chicken I know is fresh because you get bones with your shredded chicken. The picadillo beef was good. They do have many different salsa/dressing options which is nice. Cost for 3 people was $50...thought that was a little ridiculous since my tacos were only 3.50 a piece. I love Chachos for my frequent Tex-Mex cravings. The nachos are to die for because they are LOaDEd, but only order them in house. They really gip you if you get them in the drive through. Food is super cheap and fresh which is pretty surprising for the amount of customers who come through this place. Beware of drunk, weekend, late night patrons. It can get pretty rowdy at this location if you're there too late at night. Don't pass up the margaritas and salsa bar. read more

My wife and I have visited the Westheimer location and thought we would try this location out. We ordered two guacamole salads and two egg tacos and a barbacoa taco to try. Here is where things started downhill. The girl at the register said 4 barbacoa tacos and I corrected her. She appeared to change it but did not. So I had to get that corrected. She told the kitchen about the change. When my number was called the kitchen had my two egg tacos. Said the rest of my ordered was canceled by me. The kitchen argued with me and told me to wait while they made the other party of my order. After 10 minutes I went back to check status. After a few minutes standing there I witnessed a fist fight in the kitchen between two workers. So I continued to wait for my guacamole salads. I had to ask for my order again and after about an hour I had the full order. Needless to say I won't return here again! read more

This place was okay. The food is cheap food and the portions large but overall this place needs to tone down the salt level a lot and use fresher flavors. The staff at least were friendly and the folks in the kitchen were working very hard. I got the Chacho's Favorite Plate. The nachos had so much super salty cheese on them that they were soggy when served' the cheese had also kind of hardened so I had to pry apart the nachos to piece by piece. The refriend beans were a salt bomb. Most of the salsas were bland except for the green and mango salsa. The chicken flauta had good flavor but the texture of chicken was so soft and mushy which made it a little off putting. The highlight of my plate, and it was genuinely very good, was the the beef in the steakhouse fajita taco. It was delicious, tender, moist, and well seasoned. If I graded this place on that alone it would score higher. I probably would not go hear again unless friends wanted too go. This location is close to me, and I went last night because my wife and I couldn't figure out what to eat. I ordered my food through drive thru, and it was really fast . The food was okay. There was nothing exciting about it, but the price was good and the portion was big. Odd thing I found out was my guacamole wasn't done right, it was a half of an avocado and hard! Yes, the food is not bad. It's open 24/7. But if I eat here too often, everything starts to taste the same: the taco salad seems like the nachos served in a tortilla bowl, the single layer nachos is a tidy version of the piled high nachos - which is the taco salad without the tortilla bowl. Yes, the inside of the restaurant just feels and smells unclean. I never eat in because the uncleanliness grosses me out. I always go to the drive thru. So, I went to Chacho's for my once a month visit which the service is usually pretty good during the day and afternoon. I happened to be off so I invited a friend who arrived a little after I had my first beverage. I asked her to get another one for me and one for her. She came back with only one because they wouldn't allow her to get two. I went up to the counter and the middle aged African American lady quickly corrected the issue, and she was tipped accordingly. However, my friend did not like her drink. She had never drank the drink and asked me to take it back when we parted ways. This I thought would be a simple task as I had received excellent service from everyone thus far. The cashiers had agreed to give me the cash refund and the manager (Geraldo)came over refusing because we did not return it in a quick enough fashion. I explained to him that my friend did not like the drink, so a gift card would not suffice since we paid cash and she probably wouldn't return. He continued to refuse which makes no since to me since we had put plenty of money and tips in three orders (754, 771, and 841). He embarrassed me and refused the refund, and when I exited the property another customer approached me telling me that he was saying loudly that I probably put water in the drink to get the refund which really upset me because contrary to what he may have perceived, I am very well educated and currently employ people like him with similar positions. It became an entirely different issue when the other customer approached me outside and informed me of what he said. I guess I wouldn't be surprised for the judgement to happen any where else, but Chacho's???? He needs to be in a position that does not involve customers based on the way he chose to possibly lose a Customer over $7. Customer service 101 is very much needed. Thanks!! read more
