In my opinion, this is the best florist in Boston. Great selection of flowers and reasonably priced. Not to mention how accommodating and patient the staff here are. Chaba Florists is my favorite Florist shop in the entire universe! They made our gorgeous wedding centerpieces (see pictures!!!). We walked in to talk to the owner 3 weeks prior to our big day. We provided her with our budget and she was able to work around it. Not only was she able to accommodate our request, she did so effortlessly. We asked for simplicity and gave her the color scheme of the flowers. We were in the florist shop for no more than 15 minutes and walked out happy!!! 50% deposit was required and there was a nominal fee added to have the flowers delivered locally. Our wedding was in August and the flowers came out beautiful more than we could ever imagined. A day prior to the wedding we made arrangements to view the flowers. GORGEOUS!!! Our experience with Chaba Florists was amazing as we like to think we are amazing customers and we did not complain. We gave her our full trust to deliver and she and her team did so!! The flowers were delivered on time and as promised! WE wouldn't have changed anything about the flowers. Our wedding guests were so happy as over 15 centerpieces were given away at the end of the night! Flowers are gorgeous regardless, we made the best decision with going with Chaba. The most BEAUTIFUL bouquet for under $15 I've ever purchased. A friend of mine was performing at a nearby theater and on the walk over..I swear.. every other person stopped me and complimented me on them to the point where I was almost late to the show! I even saw 1 or 2 boyfriend side slaps ("Why can't you get me flowers like that? Pig."). The man working was incredibly helpful. I told him how much I wanted to spend and the occasion and he put together the wonderful bouquet. After he had wrapped it, he even used some straw type ribbon to wrap into a bow around the stems. David is AMAZING!!! I walk into the store less than two weeks from my wedding day. We planned a quasi elopement in the park and needed tons of flowers because that was my dream. Chaba is amazing! The storefront is so tiny, but we've gotten flowers from him for years and have always been more than satisfied. So we had him do our wedding flowers! Chaba was away, but his co-owner (of Montien) prepared beautiful bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, and arrangements at an extremely affordable price. I was suprised at how fresh the flowers were on the morning of the wedding and I chose peonies, which can be expensive, but they were huge and lush. I just chose the colors and types of flowers and let them do the rest and they turned out beautifully. At Chaba's, you can name your price and they will make a fabulous arrangements at any pricepoint. And you can bargain! We went to another "high-end" florist in the South End that was a bit snotty and seemed put off by our budget. Chaba is very sweet and adorable too! I would recommend Chaba for a wedding again and don't be alarmed by the storefront, good things come in small packages! read more

Be 100% sure you want to place an order with this florist before you go ahead and do it. I ordered a bouquet as a gift, but had to cancel the next day once I learned the recipient had changed plans and would be out of town on the delivery date. I gave Chaba over 3 days advance notice of the cancellation and they charged me 10%. I can't speak to the flowers themselves, but the service and overall experience wasn't great. They collected 10% but lost a customer. Business 101. I'll be searching for a different florist next time I'm looking for one in the area. read more

Received these flowers from my boyfriend who lives out of state for Valentine's Day!! I was so pleasantly surprised by how pretty and fresh these flowers looked!! It was arranged beautifully. They also added a white flower to the handle of the bouquet which I thought was a cute touch!! The only thing is the delivery arrived at 2 when he arranged for the delivery to be between 10-12, luckily I was still home to receive the delivery! I understand that they were busy with Valentine's Day so that didn't really bother me. Also, the delivery man was very nice and even walked up to my apartment to give it to me!! Chaba isn't exactly a walk around the corner from my work place, but after reading such wonderful reviews on Yelp I couldn't wait to visit. So one sunny autumn day a co-worker and I walked into this tiny flower shop with a great excuse and high hopes. The shop was quaint and cozy, with a hint of fabulous techno in the air. And luckily, no wait. Mr. Man (I should have asked for his first name) watched me squirm for a few seconds while I tried to decide what to choose. Then he asked very nicely, "How much?" and "What for?" "$10? Birthday. She likes red." "Ok," said he. In five minutes he put together the most simple but elegant bouquet I've ever seen. It had three roses, hugged by other green/red things (plants), and a mini corsage of fresh daisies-like flowers (clearly, I know nothing about flowers) was added to the bunch as a bow to finish off the package. I couldn't possibly let him take $10 for that magnificent creation and sleep that night. I gave him $15 (it's for another co-worker - you don't want to go nuts with that, you know? Boundaries.) and promised return visits. Mr. Man flashed a bright, sincere smile, and bowed a thank you (so.adorable). On the way back to the office, my co-conspirator (who told me that she was secretly hoping that I wouldn't just pay $10 and walk) and I stopped to get lunch. The cashier complimented the arrangement in broken English, and said, "So expensive! That's beautiful! Expensive!" I told her the truth, and she said, "Nooo. Really!? Not so expensive. I thought that 30-dollar." This is something that people will pay $50 for, anywhere else. I wish I had pictures of it, but I handed it off (a little sadly) as soon as I got back to the office. What a sweet little shop. It was tiny and personal, kind of reminded me of the florists in Europe, despite its distinctly tropical theme. They had all my favorite exotic flowers: gladiolas (take notes, boys), birds of paradise, tiger lilies, and orchids. Of course, if you're into more traditional suck-up material, their selection of long-stem roses was plentiful too. I was in the market for an office cactus, and I got one, and it got packaged with maple leaves and otherwise fall-like accents. The gentleman who owns the store (is it Mr. Chaba??) was so excited about my cactus, and in turn, I got more excited about the cactus, and then he got more excited about the cactus, and there was just a whole lot of love and excitement all around; it sort of made my day. Plus, I love gift-giving: the cactus was for Deepa C. I'll be back for all my after-work flower and plant needs. read more

Today's Valentine's day, so I walked in on my lunch break to pick up some flowers before it gets crazier later in the day. A couple of customers are in the shop already, but an employee asks me if she can help. I asked how much roses are, she said $5. I was confused -- that's awfully cheap for a dozen roses -- so she clarified it's $5 each. Wow, that's expensive. So I asked how much is a dozen -- and she said $80! EIGHTY DOLLARS FOR A DOZEN ROSES?!? And how does 5*12 = $80? That's like a reverse bulk discount? I had very high hopes for this place because other Yelpers were talking about affordable, great service, etc., but I can't understand how this place charges $80 for a dozen roses in Chinatown when my local guy in the financial district is selling a dozen roses for less than $20. [And I thought that was expensive? Turns out the financial district is more affordable than I thought! Harumph.] PS: It's quite possible these are some sort of uber-awesome, wedding-quality roses smuggled to Boston from a small plot of very well protected land adjacent to a large famous building in Washington DC ... But I'm pretty sure they weren't. PPS: Am I doing something wrong here? I thought roses were like $15-$25/dozen depending on quality and location and stuff. read more
