Cha For Tea!!! It has been a long long time that I have been to a Cha For Tea!!! The last time I have gone to one was the one in Alhambra. Man I miss Cha For Tea and their Mango Green Tea. My togo to drink all the time! It brings back memories. It's a small boba shop in the Target plaza right across from the VA Long Hospital and adjacent to CSU Long Beach. The drinks sweetness and ice can be adjusted to 25% 50% 70% 100%, no ice, easy ice, or extra ice. Ordered boba first then pay and wait for the drink. They do have variety of fast food sold here. It was so easy and refreshing, and reconfirmed my thoughts that Cha for Tea has some of the best milk tea and boba. The milk tea is customizable and flavorful, and the boba is warm, sweet, and soft. I love having a place I can rely on for a good milk tea, and Cha for Tea does it for me. This location shares a parking lot with Target, so depending on what day/time you're there, you might have to turn around the lot a bit to find a spot, but it exists! Loved the service! I ordered the Mango Green Tea with boba and it was amazing, no artificial or bitter taste compared to other boba shops. The sizing is big for a large and the boba is very soft/warm. If you are unsure what to order they have some samples of their top sellers to try out. This is my favorite tea shop in Long Beach throughout my college life. I came here very often for my lunch break. The drinks are so delicious. They have many $10 lunch specials. I chose one without breading. Chicken something. It was ready within a few minutes, and they brought it to my table. Tastes okay when you're hungry. This place is addicting. Let me start by prefacing and warning that the line is out the door no matter what time you stop by. Is it worth it? Absolutely. Is it going to keep you from coming back? Never. Cha for tea is one of the fondest places in Long Beach for me. I went to CSULB and will always stop by the place even if I don't go there anymore. The mango green tea is truly amazing. There's something about the ingredients. The tea has to be from out of this county or even out of this world. The mango used is an unknown brand but it's perfect and doesn't taste artificially. As for customer service, it's a pay at the counter and pick up on the other side pretty much like Starbucks. The cashiers will never move from their spot, and they always provide great service but it's not the best in business or the reason people return. It's the tea that brings people back. Parking is not that easy, believe it or not. Although it is in a plaza strip mall, there's always tons of people at this area. Great part of Long Beach, but you'll be driving a while finding somewhere to park your car. If you get the chance to stop by I do recommend it. Try the mango green tea and any of their appetizers. There was a period of time where the service was fast and efficient, however I come back today to the same two workers who were standing there eating afters ice cream while making my drink when i was here a few visits ago. Today, they were standing there on their phone, leaning on the tables, as 7-9 people were waiting for their order. On top of that, once we finally got our order, they made us the wrong drink despite the order sticker reading correctly. 2 stars instead of 1 because my drink is always good, but i'd rather travel further to another location and be satisfied with my experience. read more

Located right near the yummy Uncle Fung restaurant, so we strolled over and grabbed a boba drink while waiting for our food at UF. Large menu, but I decided upon the large taro milk. I do have a dairy intolerance, but the cashier was so patient with me and accommodating, despite the long line growing behind me lol. She took the time to explain the menu/drink. No fresh taro in this drink, it is powder form, and was mixed with non dairy creamer, a hint of black tea, classic boba, light ice, and 50% sweetness. I often come here to get my boba fix. Their boba pearls are always the right texture, not too soft and not too chewy. They also have some sweetness to them so you can opt for the lowest level of sweetness for your drink and it would still taste good. I always get their milk teas and they never disappoint. Customer service is fast and efficient. Location is close to CSULB and a hospital so it's often frequented by students and health care workers. Place is clean and atmosphere is friendly. Wanted to try this place out since I'm familiar with the Irvine location. Inside is much smaller and a lot has been close off due to safety concerns. At least they told their customers of what they expect to keep each others safe. Drinks are still good. Employees are helpful when answering first timers questions. "I visit this place often, even though I don't live in the area. On September 5th, I stopped by during a fundraiser, and while I love supporting the community, the experience was frustrating. The place was crowded and loud, and I almost walked out. Still, I decided to stay for drinks and a meal. Unfortunately, I was charged for the wrong item. When I picked up my order, the employee casually mentioned they thought I wanted an appetizer. No option was given to pay the difference or order what I actually asked for. In my conversation with my party afterward, we agreed to give them another chance on a future visit. I hope to get what I paid for then, but they really need to work on their customer service and critical thinking. The fundraiser was great, but the service could use improvement. And, by the way, their voicemail is full--who is the manager? Is it too much to ask for better communication?" I've tried a lot of boba spots and this place is on of the better spots I've tried. I ordered the matcha latte and it was tasty. It's not the best matcha boba I've had but still good. The only reason I'm giving you a 2 Star is case of all the good orders I've had. But the last Thai tea I just got was Horrendous. It was bland, and the only other taste was bitter. I've never had a Thai tea like this from you guys. I Did notice, however, is that when this was the first time I ever got NO ICE on my order it was like this. This is the place where I first tried boba tea... almost 20 years ago. Wow. I believe it was a Thai iced tea with boba. That was my go-to for a while when I was in high school and college. I attended Cal State Long Beach for more years than I care to share, so I frequented this shop often. Even after graduating. It was a popular hang-out spot for students. I would hang out there with friends or even to study. There have been many favorites since those days. My go-to drink now is either the almond black milk tea or the honey green milk tea. Once in a while I'll get adventurous and order something fruity like the strawberry colada, the peach milk tea or the mango iced tea. I normally order my drinks half sweet and like to add boba to my drinks. The boba here is perfectly sweet and chewy. Not hard or gritty like you may find in some places. They have 3 types of boba now: plain, caramel and roasted brown sugar. In addition, they also have pudding, aloe and fruit jelly as toppings. For food, appetizers and entrees, my favorite is the crispy dumplings. As an appetizer or as a topping to the salad. I also really like their crispy chicken and their orange chicken. I used to come here often when I was sick as well for their chicken noodle soup. It was flavorful and had a good amount of veggies in it too. I really miss it and wish they would bring it back. Also, they used to have brick toast in different flavors/toppings as dessert. I guess the boba tea is the drink and dessert now, depending on what you order to drink. I hope that next time I'm there, I will get to stay a while. I would like to try some of their food. It looks delicious, and it was very competitively priced! Staff members were super friendly and accommodating. I only have one issue, which is that, if I am remembering correctly, the non-dairy creamer is the default selection. I understand this is a cost measure. But, I did not notice that on any sign, and if you are selling something named "milk" tea, but you are using non-dairy "milk," that should be made glaringly obvious Customer. Hopefully, either that was an unintentional oversight or it was there in a glaringly obvious location but I did not see it for some weird reason. Regardless, I will definitely go back the next time I am in that area because the atmosphere was great, and so was my black milk tea! The Boba I received was still warm from having been freshly cooked. Thus, it was also soft. I honestly prefer my Boba hard, L O L. I've tried Cha for Tea multiple times and my experiences with the drinks have been average. I ordered the peach milk tea with boba and it was tart and overly sweet even with an adjustment of less sugar. The peach flavor was there but it lacked depth. The tapioca pearls on the other hand are cooked perfectly with a nice and chewy consistency. I also ordered the regular milk tea and the flavor wasn't good like other places. It was watery and not as creamy. Service is quick here. After I ordered, my drink was ready almost immediately. When craving popcorn chicken and fries, Cha For Tea has to be my go to because it is the most consistent quality out of all the other local tea shops. The flavor/spice is great at Mild, compared to others where it might be bland if mild. The sweet n sout here is also my favorite because it's sweet and different! We noticed they don't have "House" seasoning for the fries anymore, so it's either Original or Asian Salt n Pepper--GET THE SALT N PEPPER! Most places with matcha it's either bitter, or it tastes like pure green tea leaves. But Cha for Tea matcha is so creamy and yes you can still taste the matcha. All their flavors you can't go wrong.
