They have an exceptionally skilled team headed by Michael that handled everything from demolition, floor, tiling, plumbing, countertop & backsplash fabrication , drywall & painting to hanging sleek sliding doors to installing appliances and also worked on our lighting which made a huge difference. They delivered to us a breathtakingly beautiful & well functioning kitchen on time and with great quality of workmanship. Our laundry room is a lot more usable with the solutions they came up with. Blue Diamond did a terrific job…read more We had spoken to many contractors, but too many either did not return calls, or wanted to make cosmetic changes but not fix the basics, or wanted to do work without city permits and inspections. Our small 1958 house needed all the basics. Sewer lines needed replacement, water line needed replacement, interior galvanized plumbing lines needed replacement. Unsafe ungrounded electrical wiring needed replacement. We needed more outlets, better lighting, outside outlets. HVAC was in attic, old, not up to code and ripped ducting. Needed to be replaced and relocated. Roof needed replacement, old aluminum single glazed windows needed to go. Cream shag carpet and ugly hard to clean floor tile (which was on counter and backsplash too) had to go. We needed insulation. A proper vent for the stove. New backsplash and counters, new toilet and sinks. We left our fifties single bath and cupboards to save money. In only a little over two months from start of work, working with city inspectors and all up to code, they took our house down to the bare concrete floors, the ceilings down, the bare bones exposed, and built it back up, new, improved, everything safe and working, and much more beautiful. With a working kitchen and finally a dishwasher and disposal and washer dryer! The bones are 1958 but the house is 2020. Shout outs to Hayk the electricIan, Zach the plumber, David the carpenter, all the drywall guys and everyone else for doing a great job. Max addressed any issues promptly, and was very responsive. The team accommodated us staying on site with the cats, and there were no escapes. Having the in-house Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing made all the difference. Sometimes we had multiple crews working simultaneously. Everyone was courteous and wonderful to work with. The whole house was brought up to code and passed all the needed inspections. and even the inspectors commented on the quality work that was being done. We still have a small, three bedroom one bath house, but it's now the house we dreamed it could be. In fact, we had everyone sign the house as they finished! Quality craftsmanship is an art form, and we are delighted with the results. Blue Diamond worked well with outside contractors, too. To save some bucks, we had Window World do the windows and a neighbor did a great job paintIng. This caused no problems. On time, at budget (yes there were a few unforeseen items that brought it up but nothing serious)). And now we have a beautiful home we can retire in. Kudos to Blue Diamond, one and all! I also informed Blue Diamond that they overcharged me for the amount of exterior hardie board listed on my contract and they refused to refund the overcharge. They had mistakenly entered the same number of sq ft for my backsplash and for the exterior. I'm sure this was a very small amount of money, but by refusing to correct the error made, the company come across as untrustworthy to me.

He addressed my questions and concerns. And, had solutions that made sense without blowing up my budget. The work was weather delayed. The heat was so extreme he had concerns about the effect. Legitimate delays. Each concern was communicated and handled in such a great way. In the end, I have more than I expected. A foundation for a carport, turnaround area and driveway. All of it beautiful, grated and perfect. I would recommend TRW and Robbie for any paving job.

UPDATE 10/20/13:…read more Just to update my fellow Yelpers - the Travis County Justice of the Peace agreed with me, and not Robby, and issued a judgment against him to refund my money. So, did Robby pay? Of course not! It's now official and a matter of public record: Robert White and TRW Concrete Constuction rip off their customers, and refuse to issue a refund when ordered to by a Judge. Do you want to work with a company that ignores court orders? Run, don't walk, away from TRW as quickly as you can. _____________________________ If I could give negative stars, I would. I got several bids and selected TRW / Robby, based off a good feeling after meeting him and his stellar Yelp review. We agreed on a price, and I told him I would call him when the work was ready to start (pouring a foundation for a new garage). A few weeks later, I told him I was ready, and he came back to the job site to discuss the project again and collect a deposit. He increased his bid by a significant amount, claiming that he lost his notes after our first meeting. By that point, I had already told the other 2 people I talked to that I was going with someone else. TRW's new number not too much higher than the other bids, I needed the work done quickly, and agreed to the change, contingent on him starting immediately. I write him a check for a deposit, and he said he would be back the following day to start excavation.... [2 weeks later pass with lots of excuses but no action] HE FINALLY SHOWED UP! I thought my problems were solved at that point... Little did I expect they would just get worse. After doing the excavation, Robby tried to increase the price AGAIN! I asked to meet him at the job site the next day to discuss. When we met, and I asked him when he could finish the job and to explain the cost increase, he said he was no longer willing to do the work. I couldn't believe that a reputable contractor would walk off a job! He did not offer any explanation as to why he would not finish the job. He said he would refund the bulk of my deposit, less a number that he came up with as a fair cost of the excavation. At that point, I wasn't going to argue numbers with him, and just wanted to get as much of my money back as possible and start the work of finding a contractor to come in and clean up the mess he left so as to not delay my project any longer. He promised to come back the next day with a check. Of course, he never showed up, and won't answer phone calls, emails or texts. BEWARE - he will take your money and run.

Matterhorn came recommended from my wife's boss, and that put them over the edge as far as hiring them. They demoed our old kitchen, removed soffits and outfitted the kitchen for new cabinets. They demoed our old tile floor and installed the new vinyl plank flooring. Then after our cabinets and counters were installed, they assisted us with our appliance outfitting. As with any home renovation project, there are snags and problems along the way, and they worked through them with ease. I've heard so many horror stories of people having nightmare experiences with contractors during home renovation projects, but I can safely say you won't with Matterhorn. Do your research and read the reviews - and hire Matterhorn for your next project. We will be having them back to do our bathrooms here in the next year or so.

Once we decided, the work was done in a very efficient manner. The part that I really want to point out where Calvin went above and beyond was that he recommended a few other fixes around the bathroom (lighting additions) that we should make for mom to make the bathroom better for her overall in terms of her comfort, and he barely even charged anything extra to do it, and he was 100% right. It made a huge difference in that bathroom and mom loves it. Still, after years of transforming it from its original 1975 state of awful, it was finally coming around. Except for the Fireplace of Brick Saddness. When Calvin stopped in to evaluate it, I got a good feeling. A cool lumberjack of a man, he was friendly, cordial, and willing to give us options within our budget, without mysterious price-doubling at the mention of just about anything. And when he checked out the kitchen tile ("what kind of idiot tiles near a sink like this?" - the Crazy kind) he had an excellent outlook on how to get it fixed and finished. His guys came over and wrapped up both projects in less than two days, and his bid beat everyone else's by a mile. Everyone we worked with was polite and informative, making helpful suggestions for treating the tile and options for the fireplace. And that's it.
