I'm very pleased with a newer stylist that I tried there recently, Alexis, and I think the staff is very professional.

I had my haircut April 19th, it was my sons wedding. I was very disappointed, considering I had good haircut in the past. I brought Bobby pins so I could get an up do or something nice. They charged 200.00 for an up do that was falling out as I left the salon and the cut was only bare minimum. I have very thick hair and would of thought that she would of thinned it out. Unfortunately I tried C'est La Vie again and was so disappointed! I went in for hair cut and color. They chopped about 8 inches off my hair. I paid $15 for the extra length. Understood. I went back in for a root retouch and they charged me $100!! An additional $15 for extra length! My hair is no where near past my shoulders! And I didn't have them style my hair at all since it's curly I like it left alone. I won't be back. That extra $15 rip off cost them a customer. read more

Ook so I got a gift card for my birthday. I was excited to use it because it looked very nice. I was going away and needed to get my brazilian done. I decided I would use my gift card for it here. It was $30 more than where I would usually get it done at European Wax Center. Booked no problem and I even ran late at an earlier appointment and they were able to take me late no issue which was awesome. I walked into this salon/spa and was in awe, it was beautiful. I was actually excited to get waxed (which says a lot if you've ever had a brazilian). The girl waxing me name was Stephanie, she was also very nice. When the wax started I noticed she did not cleanse my skin or apply any powder which is the procedure I am use to. When she was doing my lips it almost seemed like she was scared to get in there . When I finished she told me the hairs in the middle were stubborn which isn't unusual to hear especially because I haven't been in since before covid. It looked like a lot but I couldn't really see too well. I noticed my skin was so inflamed, more than i've ever experienced and I had wax all over me (my legs, arm and all over my freshly manicured nails). When I got home I was pretty upset. I pulled out a mirror to get a closer look and was mortified. It looked like she did not get ANY of the hair from my lips and had patches of raw skin. There was even a patch on my bikini line that still had hair. I was suppose to leave for vacation in two days and could most certainly not wear a bikini. I called to speak with a manager. Instead of a manager calling me back like I was told would happen I got a call back from Stephanie. Again she was very nice and again explained my hair was "stubborn". She tried to get me in the next night to get touched up unfortunately I was unable to make it because I was getting ready to get on a plane in a few hours and quite frankly I was a little scared to go back there. I gave 2 stars because everyone I spoke to was very nice and they were accommodating when I was running late. I really wanted to like this place but after spending $30 more than what I would usually spend and the results being hands down the WORST BRAZILIAN I have ever received I just don't know if I can go back. If it weren't for a great massage I would be giving this review one star. My sister called to book an appointment for the two of us. We originally had wanted to do a weekend because it would have been easier, being that she works during the week and we both have infants at home; however the lady my sister spoke to on the phone told her they had a buy one get one half off special Monday- Thursday. With that said, my sister re-arranged her schedule to accommodate a time they had on a Thursday for her and I, (which they were well aware of.) Long story short, we got our massages and both were fantastic, when we went to check out Tiffany, the girl at the front desk, would not accommodate the buy one get one half off deal. She mentioned she would have to talk to her manager. She walked away twice to "talk to her manager" just to come back and say she wasn't there. Then she says, let me give her a call. She speaks to her without us present, so did she really?? Comes back and says sorry were not accommodating the buy one get one half off, its for "one person not for two" which makes absolutely no sense, btw. What is one person supposed to get 2 massages in one day ?? Makes zero sense. Tiffany who was highly unprofessional originally told us "leave your number and we will call you and figure it out, we won't charge you until we get it settled " then says less than 5 minutes later " if you leave im going to charge your card the full amount", she was completely rude, unprofessional and did nothing to accommodate a mistake that they made... needless to say I will not be going back, which is unfortunate because they had a great masseuse, but the unprofessional staff at the front, more specifically, Tiffany, made it a horrible experience. Will not recommend to anyone. Had a facial with Bridgett in 09/19/15. Was sloppy and messy. Asked Bridgett more than twice to put more pressure as I couldn't even feel her fingers on my face. No improvement. On the third time, she got upset with me so I just let her keep "tickling" me. There were people right outside the room laughing so loud you couldn't even hear the spa music in the room. Complained to Bridgett to only hear "well, it doesn't happen all the time". Facial was very very marginal and overpriced (anti- aging, most expensive on the list). To make things worse, I was told to pay 20% tip at the reception in addition for the facial charge. Tried to explain that my mother in law pre-paid the tip (which she specifically made me aware of) when she purchase the gift card for the spa, but they said they didn't have any record of it. I would have rated this higher, as the place is beautiful and clean, and the staff are friendly, but I just can't base my rating on this. I went to get a pedicure and a shellac manicure along with a group of friends, and it was by far, the worst manicure I ever received (and I get my nails done every other week). I spent $80 to have my nails chip immediately. I have nail polish on my cuticles on some nails, and part of some of my other nails are missing nail polish completely! The other ladies I was with had similar experiences. This is totally not what I expected, since the place is beautiful and it looks like they are trying to be a "upscale" salon/spa. But, it's obvious that the staff here do not have the necessary experience or skill level to give a decent manicure/pedicure. So, bottom line - I'd recommend going elsewhere and spending less money on better service. read more

Love my hairstylist Sam. She is wonderful. Does a great job with my cut and color (blonde highlights). I am very particular about the shade of blonde and she makes it look extremely natural. When I got engaged I knew that Rebecca and the team at cest la vie would be choice for the girls on our wedding day. Rebecca was great, even when I changed my hairstyle the month before the wedding and the rest of the stylists were able to create each hairstyle my girls wanted. Rebecca made my hair look absolutely amazing from the color to the style. Everyone looked amazing and the makeup on the girls was flawless. I've gotten my hair cut twice here, and a massage once. The massage was great. She was very professional and I felt like I was in heaven. Great ambiance too, outside and in. As for my haircuts.... LOVED THEM. The first time I went, I took a chance because I wanted bangs. I am very particular about my hair as well, and Sam styled it perfectly. I went back to get my hair cut a bit shorter after it had grown out quite a bit (a few inches above my butt), and I wanted a long bob. I asked for her honest opinion, and she advised me to wait a bit before I get an a-line bob because the pieces in front weren't long enough. I really appreciated her honesty and will definitely go back. She gave me a great cut anyway. The blowout I received was amazing and I love that they don't rush through the shampoo or blow-dry process which a lot of salons do. They take your time and it is clear that your time, money, and patronage is valued and appreciated. I'll be going back very soon! read more

Fast forward, I was there for over two hours and had to drive myself to the wedding since I missed the bus. They did not have anyone to do my makeup so the receptionist stepped in. Overall I was disappointed with my recent visit. I got a signature massage and pedicure. The massage was way to light and felt like someone was just rubbing lotion on me. The nail technician who did my pedicure cut me while doing the pedicure. The pedicure also began to chip less than a week after I got it done. The spa was very clean and I really wanted to like it. The greeting when you first walk in, to me did not seem genuine. I went there for a facial. I was booked with a girl named Bridget. It was pretty bad. Not relaxing at all. The room and bed was freezing, I was literally shivering the entire time. That made me tense and not relaxed. The facial was sloppy and messy. She even got some of the products she was using in my eye. After that happened she didn't even get it out of my eye, it was still stuck in my lashes I noticed in the mirror afterwards. She did not apologize or acknowledge the incident like it never happened. Like I wouldn't notice??? Really? The massages were extremely weak and felt like there was no effort. The extractions were pitiful. There was a lot to extract from my face unfortunately, but she barely took anything out! NOW MOST IMPORTANTLY I would be willing to look past all this if there were actually results from the facial. I get one every 4-6 weeks because it keeps my face without blackheads or blemishes. C'est la vie? C'est la AWEFUL! Worst pedicure, shoddy manicure, terrible attitudes, left me with a bad taste in my mouth and blood on my feet. I went with a friend who had a gift certificate. Breakfast was supposed to be included, but our requests fell on deaf ears. I asked for a regular pedicure and instead got the spa (more money and NOT worth it). The pedicurist was slough happy and took skin off the top of my foot...the TOP?! Post pedicure my feet are more calloused than ever and I have an infected dark red scrape on the top of my foot. I could have given myself a better manicure with the lights turned off- missed spots, uneven trimming, poorly cut cuticles. At pay up time, we again expressed concern over the lack of supposedly included breakfast. Indeed, we were supposed to get it- the hostess blamed the girl on duty when she was not there and offered us no compensation. Despite my friend saying she had the certificate when she made the appointment, the hostess HAD to give her a hard time about honoring it since according to her they had since changed their policies. To top it off- gratuity was included?!! How TACKY! Since I can't say enough bad things about this place- the dcor and layout was disjointed and unpleasant- it felt like a department store. I have had a mixed experience at this salon/spa. It is a extra large, fancy looking building placed oddly in a suburban area of Middletown. The prices are not low and it just seems behind the fancy decor, the talent and skill is not extraordinarily high. There were a few good stylists over the years, but it seems they have had some turn over. I probably would not recommend this salon, as you can get the same or above level of skill in a stylist at a more down to earth establishment. read more

My husband bought me a gift certificate and I used it on a mani/pedi and a massage. I have to say that although the services were a bit pricey, I had a lovely experience. The place is spotlessly clean, service staff very welcoming. I never felt condescended to or judged. The lengthy manicure and pedicure involved special aromotherapy lotions and scrubs, and I felt lavished with attention and very pampered as well as entertained. I had a medical massage with Alissa (not sure of that spelling) which was excellent - as I am also a massage therapist, I am very particular about bodywork, and she did everything just right - exactly the right amount of pressure, beautiful, slow, well controlled technique and sensitivity in her touch. I lost all sense of time. I especially loved the hot towels and massage table warmer. The dressing rooms are very comfortable, with water, iced tea and fruit, and every amentity. Apart from the hair salon, all the other rooms were very quiet with soothing new age type music playing. I plan to go back for more! read more

I went to get a pedicure for the first time ever and brought my friend. It had a very relaxing atmosphere. We were the only two getting our pedicures at that time so it was nice and quiet. The place was very clean and sanitary. I loved the massage chairs. I don't think I have ever experienced a chair like that! Lol The girls doing the pedicures were fun and very friendly. We laughed a lot and my girl, who I feel bad I forgot her name, but I let her know I had a bruise on my foot and she was very gentle and always making sure I was comfortable.
