I've been going to cest la vie with my mother for years. Even as a kid. Now, I go there several times a year to get my hair done with Rebecca. I am rarely disappointed. She knows exactly what I want every time I sit in the chair. The salon itself has always been clean and modern. The staff is warm and welcoming and making an appointment is always so easy. I live in NYC and commute here to get my hair done. They are just as expensive as NYC, however, I keep coming back for the consistency. read more

Truly the most relaxing and lovely experience. This was the first spa experience I had over a decade ago and it's still just as wonderful. It's hard to find places that truly give you the experience of full relaxation. Thankful to have this gem where I live. read more

I'm very pleased with a newer stylist that I tried there recently, Alexis, and I think the staff is very professional.

I had my haircut April 19th, it was my sons wedding. I was very disappointed, considering I had good haircut in the past. I brought Bobby pins so I could get an up do or something nice. They charged 200.00 for an up do that was falling out as I left the salon and the cut was only bare minimum. I have very thick hair and would of thought that she would of thinned it out. Will not be going back here. read more

Unfortunately I tried C'est La Vie again and was so disappointed! I went in for hair cut and color. They chopped about 8 inches off my hair. I paid $15 for the extra length. Understood. I went back in for a root retouch and they charged me $100!! An additional $15 for extra length! My hair is no where near past my shoulders! And I didn't have them style my hair at all since it's curly I like it left alone. I won't be back. That extra $15 rip off cost them a customer. read more

Amazing Salon, I've been there twinge since I recently moved up to the area & I feel like I found my replacement from my old city spa/salon. They do everything here. Nails, hair was fantastic!!! The staff was so nice!!! This is my go to place, I love it!!! read more

Had an appointment booked for 2 facial for my step daughter and I for over 2wks, she was coming in from out of town. They call an hr before the apt saying they can't take us in and have no other technician to handle the apts and then insult me by offering 20% off for the inconvenience, that's what about $30, what an insult. I will never come here again, very unprofessional and under staff obviously. read more

Thank you, Deanna for a wonderfully relaxing facial today. I totally enjoyed it and hope to plan for another one soon. Gladys

Great stylists but unprofessionally bold young staff--I worked in retail long enough to recognize quality customer service, and these girls did not display that. For starters, don't ever request a larger tip from customers--you can't assume every customer is wealthy. This is Middletown not Park Avenue. read more

This salon has a beautiful, serene, and, most notably, clean environment. The front desk always greets you with a friendly smile. The staff is always kind and accommodating. The services are impeccable!! I've been coming here for at least ten years, and I never leave here disappointed. Just excited about my next appointment! read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON!! THEY DAMAGE MY HAIR!!! I contacted the hairstylist Emily and she told me her salon just reopened and I can go to the salon. Paula the owner called me to set up an appointment with her and she didn't even bother to tell me that this hairstylist Emily was training. Seriously? You let someone work on my hair knowing that she wasn't capable of doing a balayage!! I wanted a balayage done on my hair and I SPENT $235 and she didn't even do a balayage! She did a HORRIBLE JOB! My hair turned ORANGE!!! It's disgusting and its embarrassing!!!! I asked Paula the owner for my money back or even half of my money back so I can have an EXPERT fix my hair. Paula the owner said she won't give me my $235 back instead she wanted me to go back and had the same girl Emily who damage my hair put an application on my hair!!! I said no I don't want Emily to touch my hair ever again, but she insisted she had to put the application and then she was going to have another hairstyles fix my hair! that's when I got furious! Why would do you that to me again?? I don't want to go back to your salon ever again!! GIVE ME MY $235 BACK!!! read more

I went here on Valentine's Day and the manicure took so ridiculously long we almost missed our dinner reservation. This was because the shellac kept wrinkling and had to be fixed several times. When I went back for a refund, because I found a nail still wrinkled, the manicurist said I lied and had I left with a completely different color on my nails. Good thing I have pictures to prove it. Never going here again for nails. read more

I asked for a wash and style. The girl who did my hair just suggested to not wash and "style" my hair. She proceed to curl it and charge me $40. $40? I could have gone home and done that for $0. I asked for blowout curls and again suggests to use an curling iron. Only took her 20 minutes and I had to go back and curl many pieces. Not worth the money. read more

I went to C'est La Vie hoping to love it. Walking in I was definitely impressed with how clean and modern it was. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Sadly my massage and facial was beyond sub par. I did not feel relaxed or relieved after my massage. Too much product was applied to my face during my facial causing the product to sit on my skin causing large patches of white unabsorbed moisturizer and product pilling read more

First off OMG! I got my hair and make up done by Natalie for my wedding. She is so sweet and knew exactly what I wanted. I am looking at my wedding pictures and I can not spot smiling at how great I look. I mean there are no other words to describe how happy I choose them for my special day. Thank you guys so much! read more

Never again! Pedicure yes...message absolutely...saloon ...never. they absolutely just butchered my daughters hair then charged 55..

The cleanest spa I've ever been to! Staff were super friendly and treatments are refreshing!

Ook so I got a gift card for my birthday. I was excited to use it because it looked very nice. I was going away and needed to get my brazilian done. I decided I would use my gift card for it here. It was $30 more than where I would usually get it done at European Wax Center. Booked no problem and I even ran late at an earlier appointment and they were able to take me late no issue which was awesome. I walked into this salon/spa and was in awe, it was beautiful. I was actually excited to get waxed (which says a lot if you've ever had a brazilian). The girl waxing me name was Stephanie, she was also very nice. When the wax started I noticed she did not cleanse my skin or apply any powder which is the procedure I am use to. When she was doing my lips it almost seemed like she was scared to get in there . When I finished she told me the hairs in the middle were stubborn which isn't unusual to hear especially because I haven't been in since before covid. It looked like a lot but I couldn't really see too well. I noticed my skin was so inflamed, more than i've ever experienced and I had wax all over me (my legs, arm and all over my freshly manicured nails). When I got home I was pretty upset. I pulled out a mirror to get a closer look and was mortified. It looked like she did not get ANY of the hair from my lips and had patches of raw skin. There was even a patch on my bikini line that still had hair. I was suppose to leave for vacation in two days and could most certainly not wear a bikini. I called to speak with a manager. Instead of a manager calling me back like I was told would happen I got a call back from Stephanie. Again she was very nice and again explained my hair was "stubborn". She tried to get me in the next night to get touched up unfortunately I was unable to make it because I was getting ready to get on a plane in a few hours and quite frankly I was a little scared to go back there. I gave 2 stars because everyone I spoke to was very nice and they were accommodating when I was running late. I really wanted to like this place but after spending $30 more than what I would usually spend and the results being hands down the WORST BRAZILIAN I have ever received I just don't know if I can go back. I have been getting brazilians done for the past 10 years so I know what I usually look like after, smooth as a babys bottom. This was far far far from that, I was BOTCHED. read more

Will not recommend to anyone. Had a facial with Bridgett in 09/19/15. Was sloppy and messy. Asked Bridgett more than twice to put more pressure as I couldn't even feel her fingers on my face. No improvement. On the third time, she got upset with me so I just let her keep "tickling" me. There were people right outside the room laughing so loud you couldn't even hear the spa music in the room. Complained to Bridgett to only hear "well, it doesn't happen all the time". Facial was very very marginal and overpriced (anti- aging, most expensive on the list). To make things worse, I was told to pay 20% tip at the reception in addition for the facial charge. Tried to explain that my mother in law pre-paid the tip (which she specifically made me aware of) when she purchase the gift card for the spa, but they said they didn't have any record of it. Extremely unsatisfying experience. read more

If it weren't for a great massage I would be giving this review one star. My sister called to book an appointment for the two of us. We originally had wanted to do a weekend because it would have been easier, being that she works during the week and we both have infants at home; however the lady my sister spoke to on the phone told her they had a buy one get one half off special Monday- Thursday. With that said, my sister re-arranged her schedule to accommodate a time they had on a Thursday for her and I, (which they were well aware of.) Long story short, we got our massages and both were fantastic, when we went to check out Tiffany, the girl at the front desk, would not accommodate the buy one get one half off deal. She mentioned she would have to talk to her manager. She walked away twice to "talk to her manager" just to come back and say she wasn't there. Then she says, let me give her a call. She speaks to her without us present, so did she really?? Comes back and says sorry were not accommodating the buy one get one half off, its for "one person not for two" which makes absolutely no sense, btw. What is one person supposed to get 2 massages in one day ?? Makes zero sense. Tiffany who was highly unprofessional originally told us "leave your number and we will call you and figure it out, we won't charge you until we get it settled " then says less than 5 minutes later " if you leave im going to charge your card the full amount", she was completely rude, unprofessional and did nothing to accommodate a mistake that they made... needless to say I will not be going back, which is unfortunate because they had a great masseuse, but the unprofessional staff at the front, more specifically, Tiffany, made it a horrible experience. Maybe you should re-think your policy and possibly your staff ‍ read more

I would have rated this higher, as the place is beautiful and clean, and the staff are friendly, but I just can't base my rating on this. I went to get a pedicure and a shellac manicure along with a group of friends, and it was by far, the worst manicure I ever received (and I get my nails done every other week). I spent $80 to have my nails chip immediately. I have nail polish on my cuticles on some nails, and part of some of my other nails are missing nail polish completely! The other ladies I was with had similar experiences. This is totally not what I expected, since the place is beautiful and it looks like they are trying to be a "upscale" salon/spa. But, it's obvious that the staff here do not have the necessary experience or skill level to give a decent manicure/pedicure. So, bottom line - I'd recommend going elsewhere and spending less money on better service. read more

Massage was good however, the manicure and pedicure were very over priced! There was nothing special about it. Fair at best.

Love my hairstylist Sam. She is wonderful. Does a great job with my cut and color (blonde highlights). I am very particular about the shade of blonde and she makes it look extremely natural. I've been getting my brows done in the city for a while now and I will be trying out their brow person in the next week. Will let you know how it goes. read more

I've gotten my hair cut twice here, and a massage once. The massage was great. She was very professional and I felt like I was in heaven. Great ambiance too, outside and in. As for my haircuts.... LOVED THEM. The first time I went, I took a chance because I wanted bangs. I am very particular about my hair as well, and Sam styled it perfectly. I went back to get my hair cut a bit shorter after it had grown out quite a bit (a few inches above my butt), and I wanted a long bob. I asked for her honest opinion, and she advised me to wait a bit before I get an a-line bob because the pieces in front weren't long enough. I really appreciated her honesty and will definitely go back. She gave me a great cut anyway. The blowout I received was amazing and I love that they don't rush through the shampoo or blow-dry process which a lot of salons do. They take your time and it is clear that your time, money, and patronage is valued and appreciated. I'll be going back very soon! read more

Rebecca and the team at Cest la Vie did and amazing job on our hair and makeup for the wedding. When I got engaged I knew that Rebecca and the team at cest la vie would be choice for the girls on our wedding day. Rebecca was great, even when I changed my hairstyle the month before the wedding and the rest of the stylists were able to create each hairstyle my girls wanted. Rebecca made my hair look absolutely amazing from the color to the style. Everyone looked amazing and the makeup on the girls was flawless. The entire staff was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed from breakfast to bobby pins! I would highly recommend them for your special day, you won't be disappointed. read more

Great massages, facials and hair by Sam is the best!

Absolute best salon for hair and massages!!!!! Consistent. Kind. Clean. Amazingly talented staff!!!!

What a terrible experience! We had a wedding in the area (Cedar Lakes Estate) and we went here for hair and makeup. Other wedding guests were before us and arrived late which, pushed everything back. Fast forward, I was there for over two hours and had to drive myself to the wedding since I missed the bus. They did not have anyone to do my makeup so the receptionist stepped in. Out of town guests beware! read more

Overall I was disappointed with my recent visit. I got a signature massage and pedicure. The massage was way to light and felt like someone was just rubbing lotion on me. The nail technician who did my pedicure cut me while doing the pedicure. The pedicure also began to chip less than a week after I got it done. The spa was very clean and I really wanted to like it. I had much higher hopes for my experience there, exspecially for the price. I will not be going back there. read more

The greeting when you first walk in, to me did not seem genuine. I went there for a facial. I was booked with a girl named Bridget. It was pretty bad. Not relaxing at all. The room and bed was freezing, I was literally shivering the entire time. That made me tense and not relaxed. The facial was sloppy and messy. She even got some of the products she was using in my eye. After that happened she didn't even get it out of my eye, it was still stuck in my lashes I noticed in the mirror afterwards. She did not apologize or acknowledge the incident like it never happened. Like I wouldn't notice??? Really? The massages were extremely weak and felt like there was no effort. The extractions were pitiful. There was a lot to extract from my face unfortunately, but she barely took anything out! NOW MOST IMPORTANTLY I would be willing to look past all this if there were actually results from the facial. I get one every 4-6 weeks because it keeps my face without blackheads or blemishes. My face was a mess after this facial.....from the facial. Never again. I'm sticking with pineapple day spa. read more

C'est la vie? C'est la AWEFUL! Worst pedicure, shoddy manicure, terrible attitudes, left me with a bad taste in my mouth and blood on my feet. I went with a friend who had a gift certificate. Breakfast was supposed to be included, but our requests fell on deaf ears. I asked for a regular pedicure and instead got the spa (more money and NOT worth it). The pedicurist was slough happy and took skin off the top of my foot...the TOP?! Post pedicure my feet are more calloused than ever and I have an infected dark red scrape on the top of my foot. I could have given myself a better manicure with the lights turned off- missed spots, uneven trimming, poorly cut cuticles. At pay up time, we again expressed concern over the lack of supposedly included breakfast. Indeed, we were supposed to get it- the hostess blamed the girl on duty when she was not there and offered us no compensation. Despite my friend saying she had the certificate when she made the appointment, the hostess HAD to give her a hard time about honoring it since according to her they had since changed their policies. To top it off- gratuity was included?!! How TACKY! Since I can't say enough bad things about this place- the dcor and layout was disjointed and unpleasant- it felt like a department store. I would never go again even if the service were free. In fact, you could not pay me to go back there. read more

I have had a mixed experience at this salon/spa. It is a extra large, fancy looking building placed oddly in a suburban area of Middletown. The prices are not low and it just seems behind the fancy decor, the talent and skill is not extraordinarily high. There were a few good stylists over the years, but it seems they have had some turn over. I probably would not recommend this salon, as you can get the same or above level of skill in a stylist at a more down to earth establishment. read more

Treatments were great but customer service needs work. Had a gift certificate to use. When we scxheduled appt, they told us no problem. After treatments they told us sorry cant use them on Fridays?! My husband bought me a gift certificate and I used it on a mani/pedi and a massage. I have to say that although the services were a bit pricey, I had a lovely experience. The place is spotlessly clean, service staff very welcoming. I never felt condescended to or judged. The lengthy manicure and pedicure involved special aromotherapy lotions and scrubs, and I felt lavished with attention and very pampered as well as entertained. I had a medical massage with Alissa (not sure of that spelling) which was excellent - as I am also a massage therapist, I am very particular about bodywork, and she did everything just right - exactly the right amount of pressure, beautiful, slow, well controlled technique and sensitivity in her touch. I lost all sense of time. I especially loved the hot towels and massage table warmer. The dressing rooms are very comfortable, with water, iced tea and fruit, and every amentity. Apart from the hair salon, all the other rooms were very quiet with soothing new age type music playing. I plan to go back for more! read more
