That, and unlike Omotesando, this is a proper, legit, HK style shop. It's hard to find. It's weirdly hidden, inside of another business (not telling), on the second floor of a random building (also not telling). The hours are not posted, and I assume are made up depending on how folks feel. Only one of two elevators in the building actually stops on this floor, and you get to figure out which one (still not telling). The door guy, lies to you, and tells you that there is no cafe at all. It's classic, legit, wonderful, slightly crazy, but still delightful Hong Kong. And, when you finally figure out where it is, and manage to make it there, you're rewarded with amazing coffee, and beautiful late art. You're still in Wan Chai, but life is suddenly better. Good luck, be brave, before they relocate.

You decide what you want, then go to the counter where the sign says "order here", then pay upfront. You also get yourself water, silverware and napkins. So no service charge, which is a plus for someone like me who hate the tipping system in the States. So I saw the Garden Deluxe salad. Avocado, grilled peppers, scrambled eggs, and toasted bread; $128. Must be hell amount of goodness. So I went for it. When the salad plate arrived at my table, I was a bit shocked. SO SMALL portion like feeding a bird! The taste of each item on the plate was good (but not like "wow so good"), but I was FAR from being full even after consuming those 3 slices of toasts (well, crostino size tho). My friend had the carbonara. I think if you are hungry or aim for a proper lunch, go for the pasta. Can't go wrong with pasta, although my friend thought it was just alright, at least portion wise you'll feel money is not wasted. Coffees here range from $40-ish to $65-ish, pricey but as expected. I had the ginger latter. To me it tasted like virgin Delirium but bitter with a hint of ginger, which was okay. My friend ordered the tonic coffee and didn't say a word about how it tasted (LoL). It was OK and you could tell it was attempting to be a NY bagel, but missed the mark (not large enough, not doughy enough....with NY bagels it is all about the water used to make them!) Not sure if I could find a better NY bagel in Hong Kong, so the jury is out a bit on the bagel from Holly Brown. My breakfast sandwich was salmon, avacado and a poached egg on top of a plain bagel. Along with my regular coffee americano, something left me a bit flat about this place. The coffee was thin, no punch of flavor or fullness in the bean. My Holly Brown experience was average. Not great, not awful, not memorable, just average. My breakfast had no wow moment. I had no moment of customer service amazement. Coffe was average. Average is a 3 to me on Yelp. Mason jar lights dangle from the ceiling and a light teal wall and yellow flowers brightens the room. My friend and I sat here for a little over an hour sketching the space. They give you a buzzer that beeps when ur food is ready for pick up- my pancakes took around 20 min, as there was a group of 5 in front of me. The sweet and sour "pork" (bean curds) wasn't bad, but the bean curds were deep fried to a crunchy consistency I'm guessing to resemble that crackling skin on top. The fried pumpkin didn't taste much like pumpkin if that's what it was. Could have been any melon as far as I could tell. Summary: This place is in the Nan Lian Garden Park and is part of a nunnery. To access this park, you must enter the park and best to make a reservation, but can accept walk ins if they are not busy. I'm not sure what the reason is for the $150 (HK dollars) minimum, but that could be a deterrent for those not sure about the food or for a smaller party of 3 or less. I'm guessing this is also to minimize waste as the ladies here will frown upon any wastage of dishes not eaten. The service was helpful and there is a beautiful view of dining behind a waterfall. Just keep in mind you are dining at a vegetarian spot so expect a variety of vegetables you may not have ever seen before and try before you say "no." There are a variety of options for drinks, but no alcohol. A bit pricey from what I've been told so be prepared for that. Otherwise, the garden itself is an absolutely beautiful place to visit and should be visited at least once in your life. Happy eating!!

Beancurd This was awesome. A little garlicky. Bathrooms were pretty good. From a Western standard, I would give the bathroom an A. Ambience is a very traditional feel -- well lit with the waterfall on the window.
