It's a mediocre place that only highlights the need to have a proper café at Merrick. One funny part, one of the chairs on our table had guacamole all over, dripping from the side and all. I took it out, left it in the middle of the floor so the staff would see it and maybe clean it. They never did. All of the staff went by it, looked at it, none of them took the trouble to take 20 seconds and clean it. That says more about the place than anything I could say about the food. read more

A bit of a story time first. I am in the process of having my hearing loss addressed, but as of now my hearing is subpar (yes, I deserve the "Ok Boomer" admonition). In any case, I ordered a caramel frappucino and croissant at C'est Bon, and when the drink came out and the server said a name, I thought he was saying my name, and I accepted the drink. When I took a sip, I realized that it was a fresh pressed juice with ginger (very good by the way), so I took it back in the store, and begged them to let me pay for it because now they were going to have to remake the drink for its rightful customer. They were so nice. They told me not worry about it. It was my fault that this happened, and yet they were so incredibly kind to me, and told me they would remake the drink and bring me out my items and not to worry. I will always remember this compassion that they showed me. As for what I ordered--delicious. The croissant is the real deal: buttery, flaky, and perfect. The frappucino was lovely because it was not too sweet (a problem that plagues the mermaid store frappucinos). C'est Bon is on the second level of Merrick Park, with a patio surrounded by flowering trees where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, pastry or snack. The coffee menu is extensive with both hot and cold coffee creations. I highly highly recommend this cafe, and I will be back for sure. Next time I'll drop a fiver in the tip jar to pay them back for the drink they had to discard because of me. read more

I have visited this cafe since its onset. Whenever I visit the mall, I have lunch at the cafe/bistro. My last visit was 2 days ago. The food has been consistently good through the years. The service however, as in many establishments in Miami where etiquette and good manners are not a prerequisite for customer service jobs, is not the most professional. It is better to think that customer service is a thing of the past, that rudeness is here to stay, and enjoy the food. read more

The cafe is a fast casual place in the Merrick Park Mall. I've gone in here and had never had a problem before today. I've always ordered the Caprese Sandwich which was served cold. However, today I ordered Turkey & Queso Sandwich served hot however it was terrible. I have no idea why they thought they would add the Cucumber and Field Greens in the panini AND then toast it and it be a good idea. It tasted so terrible and I had to remove it from my sandwich. Very great spot for lunch on the second floor of the beautiful outdoor mall The Shops at Merrick Village. We live within walking distance so we pick up food from here a lot. They have a huge variety of foods. My wife raves about their different avocado toasts and fresh juices. I like their paninis that come with the little stick fries. They also have fresh juices, coffees, pizza, gyros, and special breakfast items before 12 pm. There is also an impressive selection of bakery items and quick items to-go. read more

I have come here a few times, but today was a disappointment, I ordered the vegan sandwich like I always do, the sandwich came with mayo. I'm a fan of this small sandwich shop. Close to work and fast service. The staff is super friendly and the selections are abundant. May not be a full service nor a 5 star joint but the sandwiches are decent...fresh pressed paninis and again, the service is swift enough to get me in & out during my short lunch break. Its located on the second floor of Merrick Park village. Prices are reasonable and there's plenty of outdoor seating. They also have plenty of desserts, salads and togo snacks (empanadas, chips, chocolate bars, etc). This is my go to place for quick hunger fix. I'm already a loyal client :) read more

This little spot has so much potential, but has a long way to go. I came after my workout class to grab something lite to eat, and none of the salads really caught my eye (or stomach). So, I decided to go for one of the pre-made platters they had on the fridge- bad idea! One of the few options was the grape leaves, hummus, another sauce, tabbouleh and falafel box. I really shouldn't have gotten it. Let me just say, as hungry as I was, I couldn't even eat half of the falafel. Boy, they were hard and tasteless. Looked like it had been on that same fridge for 3+ days. Even the color was off. The sauces were ok, and tabbouleh was very dry! I was very disappointed, since I thought I would get more for $10+. I was also unpleasantly surprised by the prices. Not cheap at all, but I assume it has a lot to do with the location. HORRIBLE! First of all, the woman making coffee (thin latina with some highlights) put her hair up with purple gloves on, then grabbed pastries for a customer without changing her gloves. We were so disgusted when we saw this while waiting for our own food. We waited almost 25 min for a single panini which was completely cold inside. I am certain someone never turned it on to heat up. Secondly, we waited 30m for a soup which was clearly from a can and already prepared. We are at Merrick a lot, and we will never be going back. Even the ham and cheese croissant wasn't baked properly. The only thing we did not have an issue with was the juice and coffee. Subpar service! I ate there once a week because I worked close by and found it convenient. My Staff and I would order a pre made salad or something from their "bakery section". I've had three incidents in leas than a month where there has been SOME ERROR or another due to a new staff member of theirs. This last time even after asking about my order before I left and assured that everything was the way it should be it was still incorrect (which makes a difference if you're someone that is on a limited lunch period and also do not want to be exposed to folks unnecessarily). I called and spoke to the Manager and instead of offering to make it right (BECAUSE MY STAFF OR I AM THERE AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK), he offered no resolve! I'm highly disappointed but also never going back there. The food is so so... you would think with everything as it is now within the hospitality industry they would like to keep their customers happy... especially when there are alternatives. I was very excited when I found this place, seeing that it's within walking distance from my home. But... I've given this place a few chances, but every time I've gone, they've gotten my order wrong, their food is very dry and lacks flavor, they don't know the difference between lattes and cappuccinos because when I order a latte, it's always mostly foam with maybe an inch of milk at the bottom, and the service is always uncaring, never smiles, and sometimes rude. This place has potential, but a LONG way to go. I've resorted to walking the mile to Crema at the corner of Ponce De Leon and Miracle mile. THEIR food is amazing and so are their drinks. I recently tried this place out, but not for the hot food, but for the bakery items. I am a sucker for sweets and I heard that this place underwent a renovation and reopened a few weeks ago. Boy, did they outdo themselves! First of all, the workers there are so friendly and have this sense of urgency about them like they take their job seriously and want to get work done. I love when I can see people are passionate about what they do. It makes my experience that much more enjoyable, even if it is not a sit-down/being waited on type of establishment. Anyways, upon entering we were greeted by this very nice cashier at the front. We then waited in line to order and I saw the biggest chocolate chip cookie I have ever seen. It was calling to me. My mouth was watering as I gazed at it through the display case. They had so many desserts to choose from and they all looked so fresh and yummy! I wanted them all! The smell of coffee permeated the air too so that enticed me as well. I knew I had to get a latte to pair with my decadent cookie. I then ordered what i wanted and had to wait a little amount of time for it. Then again, it wasn't too busy, but still they were quick and efficient which I like! We chatted with the cashier for a bit asking her about the renovation. I get the sense that this place is Argentinian/French. I say French because of the name but the food itself seems Argentinian. I am not 100% sure, but I'll be back. I do wish though that they served wine. They offer all this amazing food that would pair so well with wine but I know you would need a liquor license for that which costs a lot. Maybe one day in the future. Here's to wishful thinking! :: When you want to have the worst of both worlds on one plate : This place has the dubious distinction of providing the worst crepe I've ever had in my life along with the third worst sandwich. Impressive. The crepe was inexplicably tragic. Its contents were far from warm -- cold, rubbery pieces of chicken, slimy mushrooms, unripe tomatoes. They obviously took it off the griddle too soon, as the cheese still sat in tangible shreds, instead of melting. The sandwich bread was hard, unwieldy, and worse yet, there was a lot of it. The bread to contents ratio: 4 to 1. It wasn't very good, but compared to the abysmal crepe, it was relatively edible. Except for when it was STABBING US ON THE ROOF OF OUR MOUTHS. We left with visible gashes. Nasty. Definitely not worth the wound care or the perceived convenience. Next time I want a light bite while at Merrick, I'll hit Nordstrom's cafe, become anorexic, or chew on a finger. read more

I'd brought my car in for a marathon service session over at Tires Plus this past Sunday, and found myself with nothing to do but watch the World Cup on Spanish television in the Tires Plus waiting room. I walked a few blocks over to Merrick Park with quite a few hours to kill. It was about 10:30AM, and nothing in the mall had really opened yet, except for this little place just up the escalator near Nordstrom. I walk in, and big surprise - they've got the World Cup on, again on Spanish television. Between the droning horns and overly excitable Spanish-language announcers, this event is grating on me like nails on a chalkboard. But I don't really care - I've got my Sunday NY Times and time to kill. Plus, there's plenty of outside seating and ceiling fans to cut the heat a little. I ordered a latte, and a bagel & lox. This being located in Merrick Park, I fully expected to pay a premium, but was pleasantly surprised to find that the latte cost less than the equivalent at Starbucks. Indeed, the prices don't seem to be that bad here, across the board. The latte was a little watery, but it did the job. The bagel and lox seemed to take a long time in the panini press, but what came out was tasty - a lightly toasted bagel with ample smoked salmon, cream cheese, and capers. Not bad at all. As a bonus, there was also decent people-watching even at that early hour, as the mall store employees (mostly attractive women, luckily for me) seemed to be heading over there to get a caffeine fix before opening up. I never thought this spot would reopen again!! After almost a year and a half of waiting, it's finally here again and better than ever. The before and after expansion was worth the wait. The place looks so cute inside. I love the grass look where the menu screens are. It's still the first couple days of opening so I figured not all the menu options would be available completely considering that my favorite (the amalfi sandwich) wasn't available until about a day or two ago. There are so many options too choose from, from sandwiches, breakfast burritos, pizza, paninis, salads, avocado toasts, desserts, smoothie bowls, etc! The two things that I don't like is that the prices are a little higher than I remember them to be, I wish they would go down a couple dollars, and the second thing is the tiny pickles that they give with the sandwiches because I hate pickles, even the smell makes me sick. I wish they would bring back the jalapeños so I can squeeze the juice on my sandwich. Overall, I'm so glad they're back because considering that I work in Merrick Park, I'll be eating here a lot again! read more
