Early in my career I learned that integrity was doing the right thing even when no one was looking, that especially true in construction when the job is finished the home owner has to trust that the job was done correctly in the case of the window install at my home nothing seems to have been done correctly, I doubt the job would have passed inspection had a permit been pulled.
I'm not certain how the job ended up so bad, their sales people were at the house twice before the job started yet their install crew showed up unprepared to correctly install windows with the siding that is installed on my house.
One of the reasons I bought new windows from them was their assurances that their sales team made to me. I was concerned about just how they were going to install the windows but was assured that they would be installed, insulated and trimmed properly and that my home would look much better when the job was finished. Instead, my home looks like a construction project that was left incomplete and forgotten. I have windows that are not properly installed, insulated or trimmed.
When the first window was being installed, I was concerned that it wasn't being done properly, I contacted the "Installation Manager" he made an appearance at the job site gave the installation crew some direction and left, nothing was done to correct the direction of the installation and when I asked about how they were going to do the windows on the back of the house they told me that since I had indicated that I planned to re-side the house at some point in the future, they weren't going to be trimming the windows. My niece told me that the way the house is right now it resembles a crack house. Unacceptable really.
The front windows were trimmed, poorly, the trim did not match the rest of the trim on the house, it was poorly fit and the caulk job was horrendous. I paid $16,900 for nine windows and today spent another $200.00 to begin the process of making sure the trim at least matched the rest of the house and fit properly. read more
