Hartland Electric was hired to do the scheduled maintenance on my generator. I contated Hartland Electric to come take a look and they referred me to a partner of theirs that does repairs instead. I scheduled the repair and when the technician arrived, within 5 minutes he found that one of the two spark plug wires was not reconnected after Hartland Electric did their maintenance. The cost of this unnecessary service call was over $100. I contacted Hartland Electric to inform them of their employees mistake in not reconnecting the spark plug wire, and they said they would look into it and call me back which they never did. Very poor and unethical customer service to not stand behind their work. I would recommend a different electrician!!

One switch was blinking a tad (user-error!) and Mike personally stopped by a week later to make sure all projects were finished and that we were satisfied. I have renovated numerous houses and his electrician team is the best group with whom I have ever worked! And Mike actually answers his Cell Phone, so the other reviewer must have had an incorrect phone number! Even months later I needed a dryer quote and he answered immediately with a "Hi Julie" , so super duper responsive to us!!!

Had Mulligan out 9/18 for a furnace cleaning and after 10 min was told my heat exchanger was…read moreleaking & flames were yellow & supposed to be blue ,he commented to my wife the carbon monoxide was burning his eyes .When asked to see the crack was told it was too far up there ( no camera involved) he said we needed a new furnace only $3,900 cause heat exchanger was too expensive to replaced and due to carbon monoxide leak he had to turn furnace & gas off. We had second opinion it was checked with a camera and he showed us ,NO cracks in exchanger and flame was a nice blue and he cleaned the furnace and Mulligan only charged $95 to come out say the exchanger was cracked ,turn furnace & gas off and left after 10 mins. I was told it would be handled one way over the phone- but when the electrician got here- he chose to tackle it another way: he attempted to put GFCI breakers on the circuit box which would not hold- so he then he had to spend time removing them, and ultimately the project I waited 8 weeks for them to come out and handle was 0% complete. While he was here I had him do a couple other things: replace two outlets, put a recess plug behind the TV and add a two gang light switch with a dimmer. I eventually got the bill and it was well over a thousand despite the major project I brought them out for being O% complete. I was charged in full for his hours installing, testing and uninstalling his "fix". When I called they argued with me on the number of hours that portion of the project took and ultimately took less than two hundred off my bill, did not offer a solution or fix to the unresolved problem. I was very open minded in calling as I know things can come up with electric and plumbing that are out of the hands of the service worker- but in my opinion the person working on my house did not seem knowledgeable and attempted a different fix than what was originally offered.

Resetting the breaker ... buzzed to indicate a short-circuit. What could it be? I had changed nothing. Nothing. The power had not failed to provoke a sympathetic failure. Hmmmm? I did a bit of trouble shooting myself; unplugging everything from the dark outlets to rule out an appliance internally shorting out. No joy. I checked each outlet and switch for signs of spark/arc'ing. Nope. I checked the working circuits to see if neutral had floated (a very dangerous condition that could easily lead to a fire). Nope. Time to call a professional. Karen was confident that they could arrive a bit after lunchtime. Caleb (journeyman) and Alex (apprentice) called to let me know they were enroute. It took a few hours of trouble-shooting to find the short. It was a wire to a stairway light installed by the previous homeowner. Caleb knows his trade well, very well. He was also great teacher, insuring that Alex grasped a proper trouble-shooting methodology. A family owned business since 1956. I will certainly use them again.

I called and was told that it would be a service fee if I couldn't find the key. Found the key and service techs came. Original installer missed turning on the activation switch or something. Weekly test was working again. Yesterday, at 11p the lights flickered, went off then back on the flicked again. Total power outage. Called left a message and then called after hours emergency number, which is Mike's, the owner, left 2 messages Generator did not come on. After lighting passed over, I used my iPhone light to read manual and at 1:30a I'm outside trying to start my generator with the iPhone light. Got it started and still no power. Got a call the next morning from chick in the office. I call her "chick" because she ultimately told me that the issue with my generator not working due to a brown out was not their problem and to contact Briggs and Stratton! REALLY!!!!! No 24 hr emergency service even though voicemail says if it's after hours and an emergency to call another number, Mike's number. I wasn't contacted until the next/this morning at about 7 o'clock and was told that someone would be out between nine and 10 they showed up at eight thirtyish and explain that the unit that I have is tricky and that when I had a brownout, which I didn't, the system couldn't fully detect that I was out of power so therefore it failed to power up! Mike did not tell me that I would have issues if I had a brownout, which I didn't, my generator would not start up. He suggested that they come out and show me how to reset it. After careful thought about it, I called him back and left him a voicemail that what if I'm handicapped what if I'm can't get outside to reset a generator that they installed. What if I'm not able to do that? I don't know his answer because I left a voicemail. All I know is that the chick in the office told me that it's not their problem and to contact Briggs & Stratton!! So after paying this expensive money for this generator and a yearly maintenance fee this year, there's no emergency service and they want to show me how to reset it. I don't think so. I should've bought a Generac. I'm a caregiver for my 92 year old mother and her air mattress on hospital bed just deflated was nothing I could do about it but wait until they woke up this morning to contact me and send somebody out to fix it! So terrible customer service by the chick the office. What kind of crap is that to tell a customer? I do not recommend Bratcher Electric but surely they don't care because they already have my money!!!

Overall, I've been pleased with the installation and the system itself. My concern is with the follow-up service. Part of the critter guard came loose and fell off, and it has now been almost three months since I first contacted Oak. During that time, I've corresponded with three different people at the company as well as their phone service. I initially asked whether the repair was covered under warranty. I also asked that, if it was not, they simply provide a parts list or tell me what I would need to buy so I could address it myself. I still have not received that information. I was subsequently told that Oak would take care of the repair, but almost three months later the critter guard is still sitting on the sidewalk. This seems like a relatively minor issue, and I've tried to be flexible about the solution. I would be satisfied either with Oak reattaching it as promised or with enough information to understand what is needed to fix it properly. I chose Oak in part because of its participation in Ann Arbor's organized solar group-buy program, and I otherwise like the solar installation. I'm posting this review because the normal service channels have not resolved what should be a straightforward service request. I hope someone at Oak sees this and gets it taken care of. I'll be happy to update the review when it is resolved.
