Extremely Disappointed - Not Transparent and Ghosted After Signing…read more I want to caution anyone purchasing a vehicle from this Subaru dealership in Silver Spring to be extremely careful regarding their extended warranties and add-on services. While they are incredibly pleasant and helpful when you are in the process of purchasing, they ghost you when seeking agreement information after you sign the paperwork. When we finalized our purchase, they handed us a USB stick and told us it contained all the information about our additional coverage. It did not. I have reached out multiple times to multiple people--including following up with our finance representatives and even copying the General Manager, Eddie Sarecky--seeking the actual terms of the services we purchased. We have received absolutely zero response. My family and I are long-time Subaru brand loyalists, which makes this experience incredibly disappointing. We fully accept that the dealership and the finance manager make a considerable commission on these add-on products. We do not begrudge them making a living, but we absolutely expect basic transparency and customer service in return. It is completely unacceptable to ignore a customer who has already paid for a service and is simply trying to get the terms of what they bought. Do not leave this dealership without printed physical copies of every single contract and term sheet, because once you walk out the door, you will be ignored.

On January 11th I was there first thing in the morning for a battery replacement and alignment. There was no sign on the door stating Scandinavian's masking policy, and nobody at the service desk was masked. (Montgomery County, MD's indoor masking requirement went back into effect in late November 2021 and had not be lifted as of the 11th.) I asked if Scandinavian would implement the requirement since I would be waiting for my Volvo, and the tiny waiting area is about 10 feet from the service desk. The answer was, "No." At that point, I told them to take me off the schedule and walked out. Now... I get that, on the service floor, there might be a safety issue with masking, and the county requirement takes that into account. But at the service desk, during the worst COVID surge we've seen since the start of the pandemic, I expect a business to comply and protect their customers. Regretfully... I won't be back.

I ended up purchasing a 2026 new Outback with the touring trim. Beautiful Pear White with black accents and Java Brown soft leather. The seats are as comfortable as a Mercedes. My insurance went down 50% because of all the loaded safety features. I am extremely impressed with the ride. It handles beautifully and I feel safe. Nick Zaria the Manager was friendly, nice and very fair with me. He gave me a dog harness for my dog that snaps in the back seat. I got the 1.90 % for 72 months and end of year discount for 2026. No games and I was in and out with Tristan the finance manager. He is very sweet and composed, professional and discloses everything. It's a great team. I sold Mercedes for 12 years. So I know a good work environment when I see one. Everyone at Fitzgerald has a good work ethic there and they are extremely dedicated at making the customer happy.

Fitzgerald didn't have the model or color I was initially looking for but Elaina took me on an evening test drive on a different model (Outback Premium) and I was won over...I'm a Subaru fan now for life! My car has not had any issues and the entire purchasing process went smoothly. I also continued to bring my car here for oil changes and maintenance and appreciated the waiting area (always stocked with coffee and snacks) and good service. Once or twice I've had to wait longer than expected but it was easy to check in with the associates at the counter for updates (and I had brought plenty of work to do). I also discovered in the waiting area some heart-shaped postcards on which you can write a brief message for cancer patients...thought that was pretty cool and enjoyed writing a few encouraging notes.

I left it at the shop and after a couple of days, they said it was fixed under warranty. yesterday, my check engine light went on. My neighbor of Mustache Mechanics, said there was no oil - THE ENGINE BURNED UP ALL THE OIL EVEN AFTER AN OIL CHANGE. he put a quart of oil in the engine so it would not seize as i drove to the dealership. I was furious, angry beyond all reason. to tell a 71 year old woman with an invalid husband that the car was good to drive when obviously, they gave me the same defective engine. the manager, Josh, is a delicate little boy who reprimanded me sternly for yelling. the other manager, Arturo, is a kind man who understands why an old woman was yelling. this is a terrible company, obviously i can't trust that they will fix this defective car. Does anyone know a lawyer that deals with this kind of thing?
