I read some of the reviews here and all I have to say is that cars are expensive. You get what you…read morepay for when you elect to do service with anyone. If you let them do their job and they give you a quote , you have e the choice to do it or don't. I've worked on diesel trucks for a majority of my life and newer gas vehicles are just not my thing. I took my 2012 Tahoe here for an accelerator position sensor problem. When reviewing it they told me the voltage correlation was off and that's what was causing the code, the suggested fix per their research and mechanic was to swap the pedal with a new sensor in. Did that and the code came back, but you know what I didn't do? Whine about it . I came back and talked with the service advisors. They rolled the previous diag cost in to another diag. Eventually after a lot of digging , and even breaking out an oscilloscope they found the problem was 2 pins in the connector to the computer not passing signal correctly. They re-pinned the bad pins and I haven't had a problem since. Since then they have done a full exhaust on this vehicle, and update to my corvette, a full exhaust, brakes, parking brake, boost tubes and intercooler, and headlight install on my f250, custom exhaust on my Cadillac. Not to mention countless odds and ends on these vehicles. If you think you know better than a person who does this work on what your car needs, do it yourself. You have the option to ignore any suggested maintenance they suggest. You also have an option to work with them and identify priority items. Here's a great example, the turbo in my f250 is going to eventually ceap the bed. When working on it they discovered oil in the charge pipe which is a tell tale sign that oil is getting passed through the turbo and. Collecting in the charge pipe. Diagnoses says replace the turbo. However I asked ... how much time do I have ? How bad is it? Knowing damn well the answer as I previously stated .... I've worked in diesels for years. They said depending on use it could be 6 months or two years. They also said that if it fails it will ruin the motor. They are correct on all of those statements. Turbos aren't cheap, the labor associated with a turbo change is t cheap because the process states to lift the cab off the frame ... so I developed a plan. I got the part number they suggested for. Remanufactured turbo, and a new o e m replacement. I started pricing it out and found what I wanted is an upgrade. They are set to do the upgrade in the near future. They didn't try and swindle me or upsell me on ball joints or something I didn't need. Now I have a level of trust in them to even do upgrades to my vehicles as requested. Again I can't say this enough... car maintenance is not cheap. If you get it cheap you will have more problems. If you ignore suggested maintenance and don't at least ask if something is critical to the safety and function of your vehicle ....you are going to have a bad time. You have options, we are in America . If you think you know better , can do better , or are being oversold .... Do the work yourself. This is skilled trade work not swiping groceries over a barcode scanner.

Firstly, I paid Baxter to do front brakes, then rear brakes in my Ram 1500. I was too busy with other things at the house and just could not get to them. They claimed to install OEM brakes on the truck, but whatever they used are already excessively worn. For example, the original OEM front brakes lasted 70K, these barely have 30K on them and their warning plates are howling. Also, the cost they charged was about 25% more than anyone else in town. I believed they waived the ridiculous 6% credit card fee, which I feel is a cost of business item, not a pass on. Whom carries around wads of cash these days to do vehicle maintenance? I think they ate the credit card fee because the likely "soaked" me on the brake job. So the above gets me to an average rating on them, then this happened. My girlfriend was having problems with a Chevy Trailblazer's brakes, they were grabbing and stopping very short as if they were sticky. Took it to Baxter and they said the vehicle needed ALL new front pads and rotors. The cost was again 25% more than anyone in town and she had to eat the 6% credit card foolishness. After the vehicle was returned the brakes were STILL sticking badly. Another local shop looked at it and noticed the brake system had significantly less brake fluid in it than was required. When this was rectified and the system bled, the brakes were properly functioning. I believe that Baxter "diagnosed" the brake issue with little to no care and did the most expensive and unnecessary repair humanly possible. If they would have test driven the vehicle afterwards, their careless diagnosis would have been obvious to them. This was a HUGE fail on Baxter's part. I have read that they are not very receptive to criticism and I do not believe I will waste my time in conflict resolution with them, we will just avoid them in the future.
