I cannot recommend Certification Academy based on my experience over the past seven months, as well as feedback from others in my cohort who have faced similar challenges. My interactions primarily involved Erika and Beth, but unfortunately, their handling of the situation left much to be desired. It appears there is a significant lack of accountability regarding financial matters, which has led to considerable frustration. Proceed with caution if considering their services.
I enrolled in the CAPM course on June 25, 2024, and initially scheduled my class for late July. Just two days before the class was set to begin, I was informed it had been canceled due to an instructor issue, and I was asked to reschedule. Despite the inconvenience to my schedule, I agreed and rescheduled for September 23-25, 2024. Unfortunately, two days before the new start date, I was notified again that the instructor was unavailable due to illness.
This was the second cancellation, requiring me to adjust my already tight work schedule--something that, as a project manager, is challenging to do. My employer was also understandably frustrated by the repeated schedule changes. Despite these issues, I agreed to reschedule again, only to face conflicting information from Certification Academy representatives. They initially pushed for an October date that I could not accommodate due to jury duty and critical work obligations. After further delays, my class was rescheduled to November 18-20, 2024.
Certification Academy did refund me $400 for the inconvenience of canceling twice. I received this refund within two weeks. However, this resolution came shortly after I posted a review about my experience and was asked to remove it so they could try to "resolve the issue."
Fast forward to November 18th- the class began as scheduled. However, on the morning of November 19, I received an email stating the remaining sessions were canceled due to yet another instructor issue. This marked the third cancellation, despite the course having partially started. By this point, I had lost all confidence in the company's ability to deliver the service I paid nearly $2,000 for. I informed them I would not reschedule again, as I could no longer afford to continually adjust my personal and professional commitments.
It is now January 15, 2025, and I am still fighting for a full refund. Certification Academy initially promised a refund (minus the $400 refunded earlier & minus the cost of the one day of class taught, which was of no value to me) to be deposited by January 10, 2025. However, the funds were not deposited as promised. When I followed up, I was told it could take 2-3 business days, but as of January 15, 2025, I still have not received the refund.
Throughout this process, Certification Academy has provided inconsistent and poor customer service, delayed responses to calls and emails, and repeated excuses about being short-staffed. This is unacceptable for a professional organization. I have paid for a service that has not been delivered, and their failure to issue a timely refund is both unprofessional and unethical.
I urge others to take the negative reviews seriously and avoid this company to save yourself time, money, and frustration. read more
