It provides a safe space and welcoming environment, while offering a sense of community for those in need. This year's turnout was amazing as individuals shared their personal experiences and spoke of the importance of PHA and how being a part of this association has changed their lives. Pulmonary Hypertension is a condition where the blood pressure in the arteries, which carries blood from the heart to the lungs becomes too high. The work this association has and continues to do is remarkable, which is why I will continue to be a supporter. Bathrooms are clean enough and decently well stocked. Parents can grab a seat on one of many benches and there is good visibility as the kids run from area to area. The softball fields are great for running the bases in between games, or flying a kite in the outfield. We tend to come in the evenings when it's cold so we haven't had a chance to use the splash pad but the structures in the area are still available for climbing. This is my childhood park!…read more Although it was always a sketchy park with high school students, college students, and adults always coming here to smoke and do extracurricular activities, it definitely has its perks. First off, it was walking distance to my house and a lot of my neighborhood friend's houses. We would come here after school and chill and hang out until sunset. We'd do this every weekday and would never get bored. Before the protective layering was added, the jungle gym was on a bed of sand. When I was in elementary school, my friends and I would get water from the fountain and make water falls from the slide after making a sand castle at the bottom of the slide. One time we found a crow and decided we should bury it super deep and dig up the bones years later. We also thought it would be dope to do a time capsule type of thing and wrote a letter and put it in a Tic Tac case and buried it super deep. Well skip a few years and they add the soft layer on top of the sand! So long crow bones and hidden note! Besides that we would play football, kickball, kick ball, and baseball on the field. We flew kites when it was windy and played with Stomp Rockets as well. We held fight clubs there and play Body Shots and Dead Arm. On the court we would play basketball games of 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, 21, Horse, and Knock Out or Lightning. We also would skate and do tricks past the half court line. Too many good memories here.

There were so many teenagers around the park when I visited, and it made the whole space feel even more lively because you could see them hanging out on the grass, walking around the paths, and using the open areas to take pictures or just relax together. I didn't expect a park to have that kind of youthful energy, but the way the trees, the open fields, and the little activity spots all come together makes it feel like a place where teenagers can be themselves without feeling rushed or watched. I appreciated how easy it was to walk around and enjoy everything without any pressure, and it reminded me of how much I enjoy places that let me feel playful and relaxed at the same time. I only visited Veterans Park a lot of times in my life before making this review, but it left a strong impression on me because of how peaceful and fun it felt, especially with all the teenagers enjoying their time there. It's one of the most enjoyable and welcoming parks I've been to in a long time, and I would highly recommend that teenagers go there because it gives them a safe and open place to hang out, take pictures, and feel creative in their own way.

Nope, every rack had at least 8 waiting players. - No barriers to prevent ball-on interference between the 4 adjacent courts. - Restrooms & water located far from the courts. + Decent restrooms though. -- Unfriendly, uncourteous, unsafe ambience: - People seem irritable there. Easily pissed off. - People disrespecting the queue system, cutting ahead of others who've been waiting a long time. - I mentioned my opponent's courtesy violation and he got offended. I could cite the pickleball rulebook, but I was afraid he might hurt me afterward, so instead I fled the vicinity at the earliest safe opportunity.

Unfortunately many who came to play like us just adjusted and played with the tennis nets on the courts. It would be nice if a portable pickleball net was kept here like other parks, but it seems priority is for tennis here (amounting to around 8 tennis courts total here). Needless to say, I like the maintenance at the park here. There were also gated courts for concrete soccer, which was interesting. Lots of gnats flying around the area, but could be due to local weather. Overall a good park to play pickleball but highly recommended once again to have your own net for an optimal experience. * Reservations for courts are able to be made according to the rules sign
