Do yourself a favor and buy a good quality 13 mm speed wrench and/or a deep socket 13 mm to the facilitate installation on your racks. Take the wrench that comes with the brackets and either throw it away or give it to somebody you don't like! I have mine mounted on a series 5 Toyota 4Runner (4WD) on the factory rails with Yakama low profile racks. I hardly notice it there and on my first 1500 mile trip I only saw about a 3/4 MPG loss. I found the mattress a bit 'hard' but after the first night I was ok with it. I may look for some kind of cushioning. Jury is still out. The buying experience was top-notch. I believe Mike is the owner and he talked to me at length about the tent and patiently answered my questions. Liz handled the shipping and couldn't have been nicer nor more personable. Overall a great customer service experience. I generally camp off road, outside of campgrounds and seldom stay longer than one night in any one place. I enjoy night sky photography and this tent fits my needs perfectly, fast setup and take down and no sleeping on the ground.

On top of that, the item wasn't available on eBay or in any North Face stores within 300 miles of where I live. I'm assuming this particular parka is being discontinued and/or replaced by another item due to their seasonal catalog always changing. Anyway, upon calling and doing a stock check Steve, one of the store's managers, put the item on hold for me and made every effort possible to see if there was a way that he could either transfer the item or ship it out to me. We stayed in contact via phone for about 2 weeks until he got permission from the district manager to sell the item and ship it to me directly. I know this is somewhat of an unusual circumstance and anyone else could have easily said "Sorry you're out of luck, there's not much we can do." but Steven was incredibly responsive and went above and beyond to help a customer he had never met face to face that was located 1000's of miles away. I've worked in retail and own a retail-oriented business myself and I truly appreciate Steve's help in making the sale and retaining clear communication with me. Happy customer over here! Fun fact: I've been to the Des Peres location several times since I often visit St. Louis and didn't know that Steve's store was brand new. Go visit this store and support them!

The Rawlings Experience is part showroom, part store, part museum and part batting cage. Of course, pretty much everything they have is baseball related. There's a lower level and an upper level. The lower level focuses on gloves. Baseball gloves, softball gloves, kids' gloves, you name it. There are many unique, specialized gloves that looked really cool. You are free to take them down, try them on, and if you want, buy one. Keep in mind though, that the are about $450/each. So you probably wouldnt want to bring your kid here to get their first glove. There's even an area where you can customize your own glove - pick the color of the leather, the stitching, you can get your name or designs branched onto it, or other personalized touches to make your glove unique. Also on the lower level toward the back is a display of the Gold Gloves. These awards are given to the best fielder at each position in each league every year. They have all the Gold Gloves that they awarded the past year on display and behind that is a room with their Gold Glove hall of fame - the best fielders at each position (those who won the most gold gloves). Each of these players has a locker, jersey and a Gold Glove. Cool! Upstairs is about other equipment, primarily bats. They have metal bats, wood bats, both for baseball and softball. I thought they were pretty cool, but what I really liked was they had a batting cage. There were 2(?) cages with tees where you could hit, and a batting cage where the ball is pitched to you by a machine. The latter looked cool but there was a line, so we didnt do that, but my kid did get to bat off a tee, and that was cool. They have bats and batting helmets for people to use. Upstairs also had batting gloves, backpacks and maybe other sporting goods, also for sale (fortunately at more reasonable prices). Overall, it was a great place to visit and I'd definitely recommend it if you like baseball and are in the St. Louis area.
