Stopped by because my husband wanted an Italian sandwich, and Cera's food was SO GOOD. My husband loved his Italian sando, and we also split the Nashville Samurai which was made with Japanese karaage and local honey-- it was perfectly sweet and spicy, and the chef was nice enough to put pickles only on half per our request. The caper steak salad also looked amazing; will have to order it next time. Definitely check Cera out! read more

Perfect spot for a quick and tasty lunch or dinner! I had the great cow caper salad and added corn. The veggies were fresh and tasty and the steak was really flavorful as well, unlike the typical overcooked steak on salads. I think they may have given me the wrong dressing, it had a very song garlicky taste that didn't really go with the rest of the salad and didn't tasted like the lemon vinaigrette listed on the menu, but other than that the salad was delicious. The corn and crispy shallots were nice touches. My dad enjoyed the marakesh express wrap and enjoyed it - said it was very flavorful! Amazing! That's probably a good place to start. We stopped here for a late lunch today and we couldn't believe our good fortune. My date had the Kaldera salad which was very, very fresh and delicious from the tri-colored grape tomatoes to the Greek Village vinaigrette dressing. I had Spartan wrap which was basically a gyro with pork instead of lamb. The tzatziki was maybe the best I've ever had. Everything was fresh and delicious. Also an awesome location looking out at Monument Square in downtown Portland. We will be back! read more

This has been my favorite lunch takeout place for 6 months now. Every sandwich I've tried is delicious. Favorite being Día de Jalapeño! It's their version of a chicken bacon ranch panini with a jalapeño slaw. (As someone who does not tolerate spice or jalapeños, you can barely taste them). The Nashville samurai is also very tasty. A huge salad filled with super-fresh greens, black beans, pepitas, cotija cheese, jicama, tomatoes, corn, cucumber, avocado & red pepper, with a unique and incredibly tasty tomatillo vinaigrette. So happy to stumble across CERA. We come to Portland a few times a year and have our favorites -- but this is a new star on our eating rounds. We ordered a variety of lunch items to go -- Machu Picchu wrap, Indonesian Seoul wrap, Marrakesh wrap and side of freekeh salad -- which was actually a very filling meal in itself. Everything was ready early, scrumptious, imaginative, plentiful and reasonably priced. The blood orange lemonade was also a win. Surpassed my expectations because oftentimes places mix cuisines for the novelty of it and fail miserably, but this place nailed it. While we ate out, the cafe itself is airy and clean, with a large and inviting patio out front. Thank you. I've already told 3 people to go check you out!! PS also a kids' menu. Was looking for a really good, fresh salad in Portland, went to LB Kitchen which came up on Google but nothing looked good there. Found Cera online and decided to drive over and give it a try. I got the "Kaldera" which is their take on a Greek salad, and oh my god, it was probably the best salad I have ever had. First of all, it was HUGE, and packed with toppings. So many salads are just a bed of lettuce with a few veggies on top, but this was hearty and would definitely fill you up for hours. The salad was so flavorful, and the oily Greek vinaigrette was perfect. Plus it was only like $11, which I think is very fair for what you get. I will be raving about this salad. I will be dreaming about this salad. I also can't wait to go back and try some of their sandwiches, which look great. Food is amazing! Freshest ingredients and interesting sandwiches. We tried the Shallot be Beef, which my partner said was the best sandwich he has had in a long time. The roast beef was beyond delish! I had the Hass to Be Turkey Wrap on naan bread. Naan bread was warm and tasty and the sandwich was over the top excellent. Is this place a best-kept secret in Portland? I hope not. We plan to make this take-out a weekly date lunch place. Great sandwiches are hard to find in this town. This place is a hidden gem! I cannot speak highly enough of this hip new sandwich/salad spot right in the heart of Portland. Their salads are the freshest and heartiest I have ever had - and incredibly flavorful. Their mushroom panini is out of this world. Their housemade lemonade is to-die-for. The staff are welcoming and kind. Since Cera opened, I've eaten here at least twice a week. Husband had the INDONESIAN SEOUL FOOD Wrap (Grilled Korean steak with shaved cucumber, julienne carrot, julienne red pepper, mixed greens, Korean peanut sauce on amazing naan bread). I had the KALDERA Salad (mixed greens, tri-color grape tomatoes, roasted artichoke, cucumbers, feta, Mediterranean bean salad, roasted olives & pistachios with Greek vinaigrette). Staff is so nice, I literally ran there after work one day and arrived 5 minutes before they closed and they made me a salad anyway when they easily could have turned me away. Thethe Dia De Jalepeno panina with chicken, bacon, pepperjack, slaw and jalepeno ranch was a sandwich I'd come back for.....the flavors and textures come together really well...warm/melty/salty/fresh/spicy/crunchy....
