I don't ask for anything spectular out of my internet but they are greedy and awful and they know it - they are the only provider in my area so they can charge what they want. $45 for 10 mpbs download speed. And that's with your own modem. Renting theirs puts you at $60/month internet. I did my research and found a modem on Amazon for $40 - do not rent theirs for $15/month. You can't go to their brick and mortar stores because they are all closed. You cant buy modems at Walmart or Best Buy because those places dont sell dsl modems. You have to deal with their chat or customer service, who can sometimes be ok and sometimes not, they ask you a thousand questions before you can even get your question asked. I had a technician come out once to fix my internet and the problem was a bad cord. He was nice enough to not charge me $85 for it being "my fault" (previous homeowners dog chewed it) but they CAN charge you if the problem is with a cord on the inside of the house. Only leaving 2 stars due to some of the staff being understanding/efficient at times. In a wind or rain storm expect to have to call them to send a signal to your modem. read more

GARBAGE SERVICE! Because of no weekend support, I had to call on Monday morning (8:30 am) and because the wait time was over 30 minutes, they directed me to chat. I followed chat, spoke to a Kirk who said he was going to "own the experience" and would have me contacted when the issue was fixed as I was informed "your service is currently being impacted by an area equipment issue." At 4:30, I called and the waiting was 45 mins. I chose chat again, spoke to a Daisy Jean C and she was dense. I'd answer a question, she'd respond with, "ok," and then three mins later get a message from her asking if I wanted to abort the chat because she hadn't heard from me?! Finally she tells me that they needed to send a Tech out to my home, then when I'd responded, she'd already abandoned the chat. I called customer service right after and she never submitted the service request. **GARBAGE SERVICE! Go ANYWHERE else.** read more

The most dishonest company I've ever dealt with! I don't understand how government allows them to continue screwing people! I signed a contract with them for one year and they told me the price stays the same for one year and they charged me one month in advance and told me when I decide to cancel, i don't need to pay the last month bill but they still charged me $54.57 at the end. When I got their service, every month I had to call them about rate increase!!! They raised the price every month even though I had a year contract!! I'm not exaggerating that I called them every month and argued with them at least two hours!! Their TV and internet service sucks. All my neighborhood moved to cable or other companies. Our store location was struck by lighting on 06/14/21. We have had numerous tickets in with Centurylink. We still have not had our requests met. Our landscaping division has been losing up $100K+ per day because of a lapse in our communication lines, including an inoperable voicemail for an entire company under our umbrella. Today on 06/30/21 I received an email about a change in our services. I was hoping our issue was resolved. It turns out that with no request from our company there was a ticket in to have our fax line disconnected. We communicated to them that was an error and they had no request on file from us or a reference number to have the number disconnected. The only resolution we could get from Centurylink was that there was a ticket submitted to have the line reconnected. The disconnect date is tomorrow 06/30/2021. Centurylink refuses to stop the request, that was never made. Now our business will be without fax for days, further contributing to revenue loss. We will be exploring options to make Centurylink accountable for the damages to our business. DO NOT TRUST CENTURYLINK FOR YOUR BUSINESS NEEDS. CENTURY LINK WILL NOT WORK IN YOUR BEST INTEREST. Absolute worst service. My 90+ year old parents' phone and internet service suddenly stopped working and the next available appointment to fix CenturyLink's equipment outside is not for 5 days. Worst service on the market. Trying to cancel my service has become a long process, with agents voiding me. This service doesn't work in mount dora. when you tell them about this, they will tell you sorry and do nothing about it. the area I live in makes me very dependent on wifi and choosing this company for that was a mistake. The service never works at night lets start there. sometimes won't work in the afternoon either they charge me 39.99 for 10mps plus a constant $10 extra for the modem. just started a new plan is spectrum for $35 modem included and 50mps. I didn't know my devices were so fast. century link is the worst and when you go to cancel they will try to frustrate you to the point of wanting to give up. terrible company save your money read more

I tried their prism under the 30 money back no cost trial... I cancelled in less that 14 days. Ever since they have been sending me bills for over $300! I have called many times. I have been assured that it was all taken care of and I don't owe anything, each time. After close to a year they put me in collections. I replied as required, in writing, and they sent it to a DIFFERENT collection agency. I have a great credit rating and centurylink is harassing me until I give in and pay what I don't owe. Something CenturyLink neglects to tell us..... I called up to cancel my service today, primarily because the customer service has been so bad, but found out I was still under a contract. I've been a customer for 32 years! And I'm still under contract??!!?!?!??? And it would cost me up to $300 to cancel now. It seems that if you call to "request" loyalty credits (which I don't even know why long term customers have to beg for credit), and if CenturyLink grants them (out of the good of their heart, I guess), you are automatically contractually obligating yourself to 2 more years. I never had anyone at CenturyLink tell me that. But it doesn't matter. They want me to hang around for another year or whatever, fine! I can post all about their fine treatment of long term customers. I think I will continue posting on their Facebook page about the treatment they dish out. I'm also going to be filing complaints with the State of Florida (got to find out who to address them to). Yelp! Yea, gonna add to that one. BBB! Oh yea, they are coming right up. Gonna sign up for a Twitter account so I can tweet all about my experiences with CenturyLink. Anything I can do to make them cringe, I will do it. They want to keep me around? That's just stupid.
