An abomination of a company. I am currently on hold to dispute a $450 charge after cancelling my service 7 months ago. Good luck finding a phone number to call, it took me 10 minutes on the ap but here it is: (800-603-6000). Then you wait on hold for another 15 minutes of idiotic automated prompts to finally speak with a human. To the companies credit the actual humans working there are kind and patient - Im sure they catch flack 24/7 due to the companies atrocious services and billing systems. I know I will never see credit for months I was charged last year for non-functioning services. Their internet sucks and is way over-priced - go with Go with quantum fiber who are better (but also not awesome). Just spoke with customer service in real time and they stated "yes we have been having problems closing down accounts properly and this happens a lot" - 3rd call to fix this same issue. Also be sure to tell them they DO NOT have permission to sell your info as it seems as though the default is they do. After months of charging us 75% MORE than the agreed discount rate, they suddenly started to charge us the correct rate. Because they make you sign up for automatic payments, you can't just pay them what you owe. They take what they want and apparently have no incentive to get it right. To get the total of $120 in overcharges back, I may have to take them to court. Why won't they refund me the overcharges they refused to stop when I caught them? Ironically, they told me that, even though I had proof that we'd completed all forms BEFORE we had service and qualified for the lower rate at that time, they "can't" refund the overcharges "retroactively." Would give them a zero if possible. Random outages and ridiculous prices. Their customer service also is terrible. Seek your source elsewhere. Centurylink is the worst option out there. read more

Do not, I repeat do not go with CenturyLink. We made the switch about a year ago due to the rates being cheaper. However when they bury the line they left the wire above ground, this meant that animals were able to chew through the line. we put in numerous work orders over 7 month period to have a line fixed and re-buried because we were only getting about 7 MB per second compared to the 65 we were paying for. Even their system when we called said this wasn't right and that we were getting insufficient service. When we finally got to the end of the line they basically told us where to shove it and there was nothing more they would be willing to do. Also I forgot to mention they LIED 4 times about compleing the repair job when they didn't in their company notes it said that it had been completed read more

Don't even think of using Century link for anything. TV, Internet, etc. Ordered internet in spring of 2018. They never came out to run the line to the house. So after 3 months of asking them when my service would start I canceled and sent back the equipment. Then I started getting a bill. Lucky the lady at the UPS store said to keep my receipt and proof I mailed all back to Century link as she said they lose track of the equipment that is returned and bill you for the equipment. So I had proof I sent back the equipment and finally got the monthly service charge reversed and clarified my account was canceled. I got another bill for canceling my service. I just had to laugh. This is by far the worst company ever. read more

Door-to-door came by, talked to my girlfriend about locking in a price; unfortunately she did sign something, but it said NOTHING about checking her credit. Later that day, she got a notification from Credit Karma that said her credit score took a huge hit because CenturyLink requested to see it. We didn't even sign up or agree to anything with them other than locking in a price for 30 days and that they would call us in that time frame to see if we wanted to set it up. Now her CREDIT SCORE took a hit because we requested additional information. Unbelievable. Needless to say, I just called charter and set up our internet service. read more

AVOID AT ALL COST. Terrible customer service, slow internet, and shady with pricing. So happy I switched to a different provider.

I thought you couldn't do worse than charter but CenturyLink raised or lowered the bar whichever way you want to look at it. Was told service would start on a Saturday since that was our move in date. It should have been an easy transition since I was a customer already and was just moving houses. Hook everything up, there's no internet. Talk to them on chat and was told I would have to wait till Monday. Monday is here now it's Wednesday. It you want to pay for a service you won't get and have late responses than CenturyLink is your company folks! read more

This is the worst company and internet service. I have gone through 2 routers and it still wont work with Direct TV. They oromote bundling but i can not watch Netflix with out it stopping. You tube videos wont load. Now my phones are screaming a noise so i cant even use the land line. I would not recommend. read more

They lost my first order after I talked to them via phone for an hour- sent a direct TV guy and told me my location is served when my location clearly wasn't (via the direct TV guy), placed a second order and had the same mistake happen. When you call them they are extremely disorganized and you can hear noises in the background. Not worth the money you save by switching via charter. read more

This is the worst internet provider I've experienced in town. Price increases every year, poor service, unexplained charges, I'm fed up with them and tried to leave. They respond by spamming my phone and home, unbelievable. read more

a few months ago I call century link just to check their price.....and decided NOT to take their internet....well about 2 months later I start getting bills from them for a service I do not have and did not sign up for. I still have spectrum...I called them and after several long annoying calls to them.....after getting transferred several times I usually get disconnected....after several call and about 3 hours of my time I think it is taken care of.....oh no then they send me another bill and told me they can't credit the entire bill.....I NEVER HAD THEIR SERVICE.....the story is longer than this.....but never get involved with CENTURY LINK....if possible I would give them a -5 stars read more

I wanted to try something cheaper than our previous internet. Well century link is not it. they lost my first order, said they were going to refund my card but I needed to pay for the 2nd order. so I did but got charged the one amount plus another $45 for I have no clue what for! I will not recommend them to anyone and am in the process of getting all my money back and sticking to my more expensive internet company read more

Awful. They are not accomodating in the least. Tell me that I have between 8am and 7pm to sit there waiting for them to come to my home and that it will take 3-4 hours?! I told them that I cannot afford to miss a day of work. Asked if they could give me a smaller window or call me when they arrive. No, apparently that's too hard. read more
