Not happy with my switch as of yet (left price gouging mediacom). Now I am getting lower download speed 423-643 than what's promised 943.85 (in black and white). I was told "fiber was bent, that's why so slow. Was told they fixed it but I am STILL having issues with speed score. Having CONSTANT issues porting my number from centurylink. They (centurylink) ONLY use 9 digit account numbers, which I've REPEATEDLY told metronet, even told them to look at centurylink FAQ page (it states that there as well) and metronet keeps saying they couldn't do it without the 16 digits. One (1) tech from metronet said it was a glitch in their system but for whatever reason, metronet STILL can't get the speeds or the phone to work correctly. This is ONLY a month into their service and I'm already regretting my switch. I'm currently thinking, a one (1) star is VERY high, but that's what I'll give them. We got a appointment set really fast and very easy. One the internet is fast and great quality. And he came within the estimated time. They said between 3pm and 5pm Thursday. And he was at our apartment by 3:20. Where my issue and reason for only giving 1 star was the tech who came out to install it for us. He called about 10 minutes before he arrived to say he was coming, it was from a Colorado number. When he came up to our apartment patio door he asked if we wanted him to take his shoes off. We told him no need. And he was snarky and rude after that. My husband moved a table out of his way. And the man started installing it. My husband sat back and sat back and watched how he did it. And my husband asked about the Colorado number. And he said I just drove in just to install your internet and he rolled his eyes like it was stupid. My husband asked just to make conversation. And he just sat back and watched the man letting him just do the job. After a bit my husband came to me asking me to call the apartment management about where the internet box was. I called on speaker phone and asked so he could hear where it was located. She told him it was on the end of the building outside. He shook his head and told her no it wasn't out there he was positive about it. Meanwhile he hadn't gone out and looked either. And she said she could swear it was outside but maybe it was inside down in the basement. He walked out the patio and walked around the side of the building and there was the box just like the manager said. And he came back in to finish the last step of installation. And I said how bout that it was right where she said. He told my husband to enter our internet name and password. He said I didn't think I was suppose to give that information out. Then he told them the information is just for the company information. He doesn't have access to it. He told us to sign into all our devices just to make sure it worked. I had trouble connecting to my second device then it connected. We said thank you and my husband because of the comment the tech made about driving to our apartment just to install our internet he said have safe travels back to Colorado. Just as a joke. And for the 5 time at least he rolled his eyes and didn't say a word and walked out the door. I don't expect him to act like he was our friend but to just be polite. My husband and I are both friendly people. And he should of at least responded and not given a eye roll but a response. We weren't chatting his ears off. My husband just asked a question about why he had a Colorado phone number. He forgets that people can have phone numbers from anywhere. 11/13/23 I filled out my online request for services I wanted to set up at my new house. I asked for 3 things: internet, wifi extender and port my old landline. 11/19/23 The installer arrived on the promised date but then everything went downhill from there. He worked for about an hour to setup the internet which was already used by a previous owner but couldn't get it to work. The equipment needed to be changed from Jaguar to eero. The tech did everything he could but he couldn't get it to work. 11/20/23 The next day they sent out a couple guys to check the installers work and they left with no update! After multiple phone calls I found out my new neighborhood was still going through a transition. The neighbors weren't having any problems though? They said it could be up to 2 more weeks! I didn't hear anything from them so after a week I called back. They said the transition was ready but I had to set up ANOTHER tech appointment! 11/30/23 I got one within 3 days and when the tech came he didn't have to do much. He just had to get the wifi extender set up. It turns out the extender was bad! After testing the internet strength in every corner of the house we determined I didn't need an extender. He went to remove it from my account so he could take it with him but he couldn't find it. He had to leave it for me to return so I wouldn't get charged for it. Now for my landline transfer/porting. That is yet another thing MetroNet can't handle without incident. After the internet was working I was told to call Customer Care and have them port my number over. I was on the phone with a Customer Care rep for over an hour and she couldn't get it done. I was late on a Friday so I said I would call back on Monday. She said she had all my information for the old provider would be back on Sunday so she would get it done then. 12/13/23 Life happens and after two weeks of not hearing anything I called back. I got transferred between Customer Care and Tech Support multiple times within two separate phone calls. After the first call I thought it worked because the tech called the phone and it rang. I asked her to verify that she called the number I wanted ported and she said she did. She actually called the number MetroNet randomly assigned me. After hanging up with her I thought I would call the number before cancelling my account with my old provider. It rang at my old house and I got my answering machine! ARGH! I called back and was assured I was talking to someone who knew what they were doing. She informed me that the port had never taken place and it required ANOTHER tech to come to my house and a charge of $31.32. I paid $135 when I set up the original installation and that was suppose to cover everything. Now I have to bring make a trip to UPS to send back equipment that didn't work, be available on 12/23/23 for ANOTHER tech visit and investigate how many times I'm getting charged for services not provided - extended wifi $9.95, a landline that doesn't work yet and another tech visit I have worked with many internet providers between my old house and a rental property and MetroNet is The Worst in Customer Care! I didn't have any issues with the installers. They were both very pleasant and easy to work with! The 2 jerks that came out to check the first installers work wouldn't even talk to me as they walked around my yard and came into my mechanical room. I am moving my office into another space in the same building. I started my internet / phone service with Jaguar communications and up until now I received excellent and reliable phone and data services. I didn't really think it would be a big deal to have my service switched to another space in the same building. Boy was I wrong. For the sake of brevity I'm just going to say that I have never in my life experienced a business that was so incompetent, both technically and in there delivery of their services. I am being completely serious. I told the last person I spoke with that I was very concerned about the success of Metronet because from my experience there is no possible way they are going to be able to continue running a successful company in the manner that they are currently doing it. I predict that this company will fail in the next two to three years without a miracle from God. read more

Update: When I set up the service I was told my total bill would be $172 per month. Received my first bill in the mail yesterday. $248! Wtf? $76 difference to what I committed to, so that's the first issue. THEN, after a couple days I could no longer get local channels! On top of that, the DVR (that I was told would be $5 a month for 2 years but the bill is $15) quit working! Richard is pissed! A call to customer service yesterday so far has yielded no improvement. I'll give them another 24 hours to fix everything as far as service issues, and another call to fix the bill. If not all complete to my satisfaction by 5 tomorrow afternoon, I'll be going back to Spectrum as much as I hate to. As much as I hate the way they operate, at least they're reliable! read more

Don't give MetroNet you current phone number unless you are absolutely going to switch from your current phone company to MetroNet. Reason: I had a technical question. The salespersons I was talking with did not know the answer. They said they would have an installer call on me. They actually scheduled my service to be switched. When the installer arrived and answered my questions, I decided MetroNet was not a good fit. They agreed to cancel any activity. HOWEVER, the next day my phone went dead because my current carrier had been informed by MetroNet that I was switching. It took hours on the phone and two business days to get my service back. read more

We had Jaguar Communications and I loved them - unfortunately Metronet bought them out. The service is fine WHEN it's working- but we have had multiple, multiple episodes of losing service, many times for almost a full day. Don't choose MetroNet - they simply aren't reliable! read more

We switched our cable service from spectrum to Metronet in fall 2020. When the service staff came to install the cable, they didn't bury the cable line. We told them that they need to bury the cable line since we have dogs that play in the yard. They promised that they would bury the cable before winter but unfortunately they never came. We had a cable down today and talked to the customer service twice. They said they are short of staff and won't be able to come until 3 days later. This is huge disappointment! Now we are working from home and kids take zoom lessons. If metronet doesn't have enough staff then they shouldn't take this amount of clients. We are switching back to spectrum which we never had issues with and we want to spread the words out so our friends and colleagues know to stay away from Metronet! read more

The installers with quick and knew what they were doing, first to ever give me custom password option along with special router name. A company truly ahead its competition. however if you game don't be surprised at slight freezes here to there. 10/10 and have recommenced. read more
