Arrived at 8:30am as a walk-in since there were no available appointments for today. Waited till 10:35 to be seen by triage nurse, then had to wait another hour to be seen by nurse practitioner. Spoke to both of them for maybe 5 or 10 min max, waited another 15 min to have blood pressure and temp taken. Then handed paperwork and sent out the door. 3.5 hours later I find out my prescription was sent to a CLOSED pharmacy and no one thought to call me and ask for another pharmacy. I had to call to ask for it to be called in. Called pharmacyto confirm , and they only sent 2 of the 3 prescriptions. Called back and was told they would have nurse contact me in 24-48 hours to confirm. RIDICULOUS read more

Dr. Molina is my children's pediatrician and she's great! The nurse is easily frustrated though she's nice to me but doesn't work well with children! The office staff is friendly and helpful. The wait is crazy I wonder sometimes why they even make appointments. Today I went in with my child for a yearly check up and we were 5 minutes early. I noticed when signing in that there were 2 people there that were there longer then 15 minutes before their appointment and they were still waiting, it was already 45 minutes past our appointment time and then they got called back before us. Doesn't make sense to me. I could understand if we were late but we were 5 minutes early and to me that's ontime. read more

This is the second CentroMed location to which I've been assigned since September 2010. The front office staff deserves four stars but the back office (doctors and nurses) deserve none. I realize how difficult it is to run a medical facility that serves indigent patients, but there are regulations to protect patients' privacy and a doctor at this clinic violated one of those regulations. She wrote me a prescription with another patient's name and date of birth on it. Of course I couldn't get the Rx filled with someone else's name on it so I called the clinic. The man who answered said he'd have the nurse call the Rx into my pharmacy and have the nurse return my call. The next day I had a voice mail from the nurse but there was no Rx at the pharmacy. I called the clinic again and said I was returning [nurse's name]'s phone call. The front desk transferred me to the back where the phone rang repeatedly until it returned to the front desk. Again I said I was returning nurse "blank's" call; again I was transferred; again it rang and rang until it rolled back to the front desk. This repeated four times until eventually they hung up on me. Since this HIPAA violation should be reported, I went online to the JCAHO website where I officially reported both incidents (being given someone else's name and date of birth and the aborted attempt at resolving the issue). JCAHO sent me an email saying this clinic was not accredited through them. Isn't that interesting? All health care facilities in this country are supposed to be accredited through JCAHO. Of note, I'm trying to change physicians but the ones I can use who come highly recommended are not taking new patients. (sigh) read more

I love my son's doctor, but ..... My son's doctor is fabulous. Dr Juan Parra. However, you can not call and speak to his office directly. You have to go through CentroMed call center. I have been on hold for 25 minutes already with the message stating someone will be with me shortly. I need to speak to the doctor about a series of shots my son is getting. It looks like I will need to drive there and see if I can talk to the doctor without an appointment or leave a message with his staff asking him to call me. Update: I drove there. When I walked in, most of the offices were dark. A man asked me if he could help me. He told me the offices were closed until 1:00. I told him I had called several times and couldn't get through to anyone. He said the queue was closed until 1:00. I suggested it would be helpful if they had a message stating the offices would be closed until 1 instead of being on hold for 25 minutes saying someone would be with me shortly. I had also gone on their website to see if I could enroll in the online portal, but you need a code from CentroMed. Nowhere on their website did it state the offices would be closed until 1. They accept walk-ins. I wonder how many people went there today to find out the place was closed. read more

Horrible place. Security officer is rude. Front office said they could see our baby, then when we went, said no. Then for us, they said to not get an appointment and walk in the next day. So we followed their advice and they said we needed an appointment. This place is horrible. read more

I hope they read these review to improve their service which is so bad, rude, wasting time of people. It doesn't matter if you make an appointment or not, you still have to wait an hour at least ( even if there are not too much people waiting). I came for the first time and so disappointed because of the rude of people frond desk ( especially those people at the check in in left side). It takes 3 months to get an appointment, if you are really sick you can wait up to 2 to 3 hours for them to decide if you can or cannot see a doctor that day. Im talking about the adult side by the way, then the doctor spends all of 3 min deciding what their going to do. read more

I changed pediatricians because I moved and there other pediatrician was to far to drive. I saw that the centro med was close and accepting new patients. Complete mistake. None of the staff know what they are doing they all tell you different things. I was there for four hours with my 6 and 1 year old waiting to be seen. I noticed that all the nurse staff just seemed to be standing around talking. As if that's not frustrating enough my one year old got sick and I tried to get a appointment for him of corse there was no appointments until the following Thursday. They recommended I did the walk-in clinic and of course that did not work either, after I drove all the way over there and then they told me they were not see anymore for the day!! We ended up in the ER and my son had an ear infection. To sum it up we are no longer going to that location and have found a new pediatrician. read more

Horrible wait times and they don't greet you or inform you that the doctor isn't even in the office until u ask them after waiting an entire hour for your appointment. Also they don't offer to reschedule. U have to probe them to get them to even acknowledge your presence. read more

My son got to the clinic for walk in at 0800. The ladies checking him in could not figure out his insurance.... it's not that difficult - the name of the company is on the front and the phone number is on the back. It took them TWO HOURS to figure this out. It's now 1130 and he still hasn't been seen. Everyone who signed in for walk in before him has been seen... now there is another group of walk ins there and he's still being bypassed. My suggestion???? Find somewhere else to go read more

My husband and I have both been let down repeatedly by both nurses and doctors at this dreadful clinic. Ridiculously long wait times (regardless of whether you have an allocated appointment time or not, you're usually kept waiting at LEAST half an hour past your app. time, and then a further 30+ minutes after being called in to see the doctor. Most of the doctors are very impersonal, preferring to look at their computer screen while you're trying to explain something to them, and if you ever need a prescription faxed to a pharmacy, or need a call-back from a nurse, FORGET IT. I'm sorry, but the nurses are VERY poor at their jobs - they look bored, they often speak poor English, so communication is lacking. And messages for doctors are RARELY actually passed on by these nurses. My husband was prescribed a number of medications from different doctors there, all of which combined could have LITERALLY killed him. I truly am disgusted by this clinic, and by it's extremely poor customer service. I don't think it's too much to ask for a doctor to simply respond to FIVE urgent faxes from a pharmacy, so that a patient can refill his much-needed medication. Obviously CentroMed DOES think it's too much to ask. STEER CLEAR! read more

Would rather not even give them 1 star that's how ridiculous they are. Called to schedule a New Patient visit for my toddler, lady was rude and kept interrupting my questions, then I was told to be there 30 min to fill out 5 minutes worth of paperwork. When I arrive the lady at the desk was rude right away with me, waiting 2 Hrs to go back and be seen by a DR. While seeing the Dr, she proceeds to ask if my daughter a 2 yr old is ADHD, really? She's 2 and been sitting waiting for 2 hrs of course she has a lot of energy. That's the problem with Dr.s all they want to do is place your child on meds :/ Definitely NOT going back there and don't recommend to my worst enemy !! read more

The CentroMed Walzem Clinic is a fucking a joke & has been for several years. I've never hated so many people in one establishment in my life. The only reason i kept going there is b/c i had no insurance & it was free, but sometimes free gets you know where but crapped on. Let me explain, they do not have respect for their patients, the nurses suck & the doctors don't want to b there cuz half the time they are not!!:( You can never get any1 on the ph, & if you do you have a long wait time. Jus recently, that damn ph service they have isn't worth a damn, i had to go up there cuz they wuldn't return my ph call!! Again, i hate those fuckin people they tell you one thing & it isn't right they jus tell u what u want to hear! Seriously, i could go on & on but i think every1 gets the hint. Please don't go to this place it should really be shut down & out of business. It's really sad, but that's what they deserve cuz people deserve better. So again i say I HATE THIS FUCKIN PLACE!!!! I had seen a PA at the Palo Alto location twice last month, she booked me into see one Dr Reyna, seeing how I'm without a physician right now, have a complete broken neck with various health issues attached. I received an automated reminder for my appointment today. When I showed up 30 min early the receptionist couldn't even fin me in their computer. Lost a meals on wheels this day, lost the services of my care aid, paid gas, hurt myself getting a bath and ready on time. Feelings hurt ? Ya in more ways that one Now I know why USA is 48th on the list of "satisfatory health care' out of 50 nations. Might do better down in Mexico I guess read more

Terrible practices from an uncaring, unprofessional management team have made this place a clear example of how not to conduct a respectable business & drive a name into the ground. This place was never without it's issues, as expected from the nature of the business, but as soon as this so-called business 'manager' started implementing these terrible, poorly executed practices, it's just become this awful experience for everyone involved. There is no personal service you'd come to expect from a respectable, reputable practice and it seems management would rather run this like wal-mart or a call center than a family center where people are cared for and treated with a little dignity and respect. This goes for desk clerks and assistants too. Poor management has been responsible for so many great people jumping ship at the first opportunity once they see this place for what it is and how corrupt people are here. I can't tell you how many former employees I've talked to who have reported a manager that have only ended up quitting or wrongfully terminated in the end. If you are an employee and have an issue that's a clear violation of your rights or is a sleazy practice involving the manipulation of patient appointments for profit, you're better off reporting it to an actual outside agency and not anyone within this company. Just please don't keep quiet about it or nothing will change. read more

I have never received worse customer service from a health care facility. The referral department seems to take pride in their lack of service. Twice I have called to get information on two different referrals. In both instances I was put on hold for more than 40 mins. I called Cento med on last Tuesday for a scheduled appointment with the surgeon on Wednesday. The surgeon's office informed me that the referral/authorization had not been done in spite of fact the Centomed had knowledge of my appointment date. I was only able to speak with Jeanette from the Pablo Alto location. Jeanette promised to call me back that same day but never called back at all. When I left a message for the referral department a few months ago, they never responded either. I finally had to make an appointment with the physician to get the referral. That is not my only complaint. They encourage patients to use the patient portal but it is never updated. I have medical insurance and this total disregard for my concerns are totally unacceptable. I do plan on escalating my complaints which will be substantiated with specifics. They just don't seem to care. read more

Went to Centro Med on Walzem Road in San Antonio on Tuesday with a bladder infection and got a prescription for an antibiotic. Doc said that if I had waited another day or two, that I would have been in the ER with a kidney infection. It was "very bad" and if I wasn't better in 5 days that I needed to call her. (nto that they ever answer their phones!) Friday after work, I went back to Centro Med and spent 3 hours there - because I had a BAD allergic reaction to the antibiotic. I saw the same doctor and the nurse gave me a steroid shot for the allergic reaction and the doc said that she would call me and let me know what she finds out about an antibiotic that would work for me. I should've known better. She never called in an antibiotic and so I went back over there today. Well, they tell me that she's not there today and the other doctor on duty can't call in something. I'd have to pay another co-pay! I've been there twice in a week but the doc on call can't look at my chart and say, "Hey! She was on an antibiotic but she's allergic to it. I can write a prescription for something else."????!!?!! Apparently, that is too complicated. The nurse told me that I should drink cranberry juice and water. My pharmacist was shocked and told me that I needed another antibiotic and that I needed to go over there again. Another nurse came out and told me that Dr. Osuji emailed them and I wasn't supposed to get another antibiotic!! That's not what she said last nite! The nurse tried to tell me that Peridium is an antibiotic!! I am not a medical professional, but even I know better than that!! I told her that that was not true - it was for the pain and burning sensation only. She said, 'Oh okay'. I can get that over the counter! I am so sick of doctors/nurses that are incompetent!! I told the nurse that bladder infections don't go away with 3 1/2 days of antibiotics!! I'm not a doctor but even I know that! They told me that I could go to an ER if I felt that I needed to. I told them that they would be paying for it. The nurse could not care less that I still feel bad and that I've been charged TWO co-pays for the same stupid infection! She was more interested in going home. I never could talk to the doc on duty. read more
