They haven't been open very long so maybe so growing pains We were seated quickly but no waiter Girl came by and gave us water and said would find out where waiter was Eventually she came back asking if anyone had shown up and when said no she said she would go ahead and take our order So she took order and since been waiting so long we ordered food and drinks same time She said she would get us some chips and salsa Well the food came Then drinks after that then finally got some chips and salsa I guess for dessert Exact opposite order of how it should come I had the dinner switch steak and chorizo The steak was excellent I do not like the single link of chorizo Overall found it overpriced do what we got and of course the issues with missing waiter The are going for upscale Mexican but currently there a step below plaza Aztecs down the street for higher prices I can tell what they want to accomplish but right now it's a fail

Steak & Sabor

Steak & Sabor

Steak & Sabor was delicious and delicious! Popped into Steak and Sabor after seeing it on my Yelp…read morerecommend and it did not disappoint! The service was phenomenal with our server being so kind to walk us through the menu and make multiple recommendations. We decided on the pork arepa and the steak platter which came with 2 sides, we got the fries and yucca. The steak was extremely tender and flavorful but the Arepa stole the show for me, filled with cheese and veggies. It was juicy, crunchy and just a perfect balance. A fried cornmeal patty with a fun filling may become my new go to thats how good it was. They also have some nice house sauces, one spicy and one mild which definitely elevates the dishes! My favorite was the mild green sauce which had a lovely herby undertone. The restaurant itself has a good mix of bar seating and low top tables, it was a bit cold inside when we walked in but they had a nice electric fireplace going which made the space very cozy. Definitely give this place a shot and try the Arepa! It is also definitely big enough for two if you want to try something else!

The greeter was as expected, very pleasant. The menu offered is a bit more limited than the previous establishment, absent my favorite, Cachapa, as well as drinks such as chicha and Parchita. I opted for the chicken patacon made with green plantains and the fried yuccas. The patacon was flavored well, though smaller than what I'm accustomed to. The yuccas were crispy on the exterior and soft on the inside. All in all. Not a bad experience. And while I most likely won't go out of my way visit, would definitely visit if I was in the area.

It's a one-block kind of town, not the place you'd think to go for Central American cuisine. The building is on the older side, but they've done a nice job with it and it has some charm. The menu includes pupusas and various other Latin American cuisine, notably possessing a vegetarian section. Notably, they have a time set aside on Sunday afternoon (which is often when I'm eating at restaurants) where they are apparently in pupusa prep mode and say that these delicacies may not be available. However, I dropped in just after 5 and they told me they were good to go. The classic options they offer were well rendered here. A queso loroco, which the menu explains in detail, offered large flower buds and a strong flavor contrast. The accompanying sides of pickled cabbage and sauce made for a typically dynamic flavor experience. And the great thing about ordering pupusas is that you can really get the size of meal you want. Three makes a good meal, but you could just get a snack, or add an appetizer. It's a good thing to search for, particularly if on a road trip for a region that is very pretty but not overwhelmed with diverse culinary options.

I cannot say I have had a vast amount of Salvadorian food during my time but every thing about this place feels authentic. The people here are down to earth. The prices are dirt cheap. If you're looking for a place to have a nice date night meal, takeout, lunch, or whatever your heart desires you couldn't do much better than this place.

I've tried the Tequeños, arepas, empanadas, cachapas, and the plantain sandwich, and every single one has been worth it. It's tucked next to a gas station, which adds to the charm. Parking's a bit unpredictable, so I usually park across the street and walk over. Easy enough. The hostess is lovely. Welcoming, helpful, and always spot on with her suggestions. Whether you're dining in or grabbing food to go, Chamo's is one of those places that makes you feel good about coming back. Time for another visit.

The cashier confirmed my order, but still gave me the wrong items and they were burnt. I brought them back, and she tried to convince me it was the same thing I ordered. As if I was just supposed to eat whatever they handed me. I asked for a refund. She got an attitude, disappeared into the kitchen, and came back saying it'd be 5 minutes to fix. Seven minutes later, it was still wrong they gave me chicken instead of beef. I spent over $80 and was treated like my business didn't matter. If I pay for something, I expect to get exactly that not what you feel like giving me. Poor service. Basic food. Sloppy attitude. Beware Richmond, VA (I told you so) this was my last visit. One star.
