Great building. Super awesome facilitates, amazing location, responsive maintenance. if you have an electric car: Chargers are in great location and very convenient, but there is no signage preventing other, non-electric cars, from parking in the charging spots. I am working with management, who has proposed some solutions involving putting signs up and towing cars that shouldn't be in the spots. Hopefully this can go back to 5 stars again because otherwise everything has been pretty grand, I just can't commute without access to those spots. read more

I've been here 3.5 yrs and love living in Downtown Silver Spring. The Central was a good choice for me. As far as noise goes, I face Fenton, but the traffic noise doesn't bother me at all. I hear what sounds like a TV from somewhere sometimes but if I am trying to read or otherwise relax, I just play white noise on my speaker & I'm good. Maintenance is extremely prompt & I love having an in unit washer & dryer. I don't participate in all of the activities, but I do enjoy the book club. We need management to help us promote it more as a lot of our members moved away. Overall, I am happy about my choice. read more

Danielle, the concierge who works the evening and sometimes the overnight shift, is brave and ensures that the building is safe. She goes above and beyond. Last week, I was at the desk when an Uber Eats delivery came in close to 9:30 pm. The delivery person was upset that Danielle would not allow her to take the food upstairs. It is Central's policy that delivery agents are not allowed to go upstairs after 8:00 pm. Though Danielle called the resident and offered to take the food to the apartment herself, the delivery person still demanded to take it upstairs. The delivery person called Danielle names, belittled her role, raised her voice, recorded us, and refused to leave the premises. Through it all, Danielle remained calm, kept her voice at the same low conversational tone, and repeated the solutions she initially offered regarding the food delivery. I was impressed with Danielle's response to the aggression. This went on for about 30 minutes until the delivery person decided to leave. Before and after the delivery person, Danielle was also trying to keep the front doors closed. One of the doors did not close once opened. To prevent non-residents from entering, she tried to get residents to use the other door. Despite putting up signs, the residents kept leaving the door open. She got up to close it several times in between responding to residents seeking assistance all over the building. She eventually resolved the door situation by putting a flower pot to block the malfunctioning door. She maintained vigilance via the cameras and greeted everyone who entered the building, allowing her eyes to rest on each face. It was a noisy and chaotic night. I was both stressed and concerned for her safety. She is also brave! I have witnessed her in the past go into the garage after 11:00 pm to evacuate a man who snuck behind the second gate to sit there. I walked with her before going home because I was concerned that he would get aggressive. He did not. I told her that she is brave to have planned to walk out there alone with no one else around. I also praised her for her endurance throughout the chaos. read more

I lived here for 1 year. At first the building was great and charming. Super close to downtown silver spring and it was very convenient. However, everything started to change after about 3 months in. The staff became rude, I started having several problems. The walls are thin, you can here everything. Also, for the price you pay - the apartments are incredibly small. I was the first resident to live in the apartment I lived in. I did have an issue with bugs under my fridge. I called Orkin many times but they didn't go away so I got a mat that they got stuck under and just took care of it myself. It wasn't that big of a problem which is why I won't rate it less, but it was annoying. Dealt with it almost the entirety of my lease. El Sapo moving in the basement of the building was terrible for my living experience. They had an outdoor patio opened late on the weekends making it impossible to sleep if you have a job where you need to wake up early. Not to mention that after I got a dog, all the residents were extremely rude. My dog was adjusting to apartment living and was scared seeing so many people in the hallways. When she would bark, I had one person say "ew. Can you get that dog away from me?" Clearly the central is a dog friendly building so having people so against pets makes no sense. I told management about my concerns and they did nothing. They do have residential events that are fun and have free food. However, if you aren't there in the first 30 minutes then there will be nothing left for you. Having an event start at 6 pm sucks for people working til 5 or 530 since you can never take advantage of them. There was no variety in the event times. When you move out, make sure to have professionals come in and clean everything - including the carpet- to avoid paying fees. After my lease was up I was THANKFUL to move to a different building. read more

I originally posted this review but took it down in hopes that Central will improve the tenant experience; however, several issues still persist. It's reached a point where I had no choice but to involve the management company's leadership. As I mentioned before, I would not advise moving to Central Silver Spring. Here's why: Poor Condition of Apartment Upon Move-in I moved into my apartment at the end of July 2021. Upon moving in, I found my apartment with the following issues: -Deep, unsightly scratches on the kitchen/living room area floor. I asked for something to be applied to cover up the scratches, but I was told nothing can be done because "it's normal wear and tear." I had to pay to polish the floor. -The toilet was rocking and unsecured. -Grout was missing from the kitchen backsplash. -Splashes of white paint throughout the apartment floor. -The kitchen island was dangerously unsecured. When I attempted to move it, the entire thing fell apart multiple times and almost injured my foot. -The screen on the living room terrace kept falling off every time I opened or closed it. In summary, the building management failed to ensure my apartment was ready for me to move into. Excessive Noise Since I moved in, I've been experiencing constant, excessive noise (stomping, slamming of doors, dragging of furniture, and more) because Central is a wood-framed building. In my opinion, the excessive noise makes the apartments uninhabitable. The peace and sanctuary they describe is not true. It's not worth moving here. Building Staff Unprofessionalism Because I raised my concerns about the condition of my apartment and the excessive noise, I received backlash from Central's management team: sulking, attitude, eye rolling, cold shoulder. Again, I do not advise moving to Central Silver Spring. read more

We've been living at Central for almost 1.5 years! We love living here. Things like receiving packages, food delivery and easy access to walk your dog are all excellent! The Central team has done an excellent job keeping their residents safe during the pandemic, while also still offering safe community events or special gifts. Around thanksgiving we got a mini pie and 6 Delicious cookies!! The gym, pool and other amenities available are all awesome. Everybody is friendly! My fiancé even proposed to me during the pandemic in our apartment at Central! So now it will always have a special place in our 's! Our dog Dax loves living here and seeing and meeting all the other dogs. The location is the most convenient. I literally haven't driven my car in 8 months! Yay Central! read more

Central - Apartments Near Me - Silver Spring, Maryland

This was my third large apartment building in the past few years, and was my least favorite. My wife and I purchased a home, otherwise, we probably wouldn't have hassled with moving if we weren't buying. IMO there are two issues with this rental community. First, the renters are all over the place. People smoked in their units or stairwells, there was trash sometimes left outside of unit doors or in the trash room floor, or general disgusting stuff in the elevators (gum, food smashed in the floor, etc.). Not great when you're paying the rent equivalent of a $400k mortgage. Second, the building is a stick build. The management company mentioned this with each mass noise complaint email they sent out. We could hear our downstairs neighbor's dog bark, or chairs being moved on the sky deck above our unit. Last thing to mention is that maintenance was in and out of our unit on a monthly basis, sometimes planned and sometimes not. We have a rescue dog who is freaked out by visitors when we're not home, so it was an inconvenience for us. I'm surprised to see so many five star reviews. The staff is great and the building is in a great location, but beyond that I think there are some better values available in the area that I toured before moving here. read more

Pros: 1- building is nice and new as of late 2018. 2- Location is ideal Cons: 1- Unsafe environment. Maintenance keeps walking into the apartments and cars are not safe in the parking garage. 2- Management is terrible and bully residents on regular basis. Not helpful or welcoming on arrival. Expect cold reception and interaction with all team members. Here's a recent email full of falsehoods (claiming that they know county rules) sent to all residents from management: Good morning Central community, I hope everyone is having a great Tuesday morning. Just to refresh everyone on the parking policy at Central, we wanted to remind everyone that the community as well as the county has rules regarding vehicles with no tags or expired tags. Tags must be on vehicles at all times. In addition, the tags must be valid and not expired. ..... NOTE: All 5 star reviews here seem to describe the building only and omit management, safety and building staff read more

Central is a luxury-style apartment with a number of extra amenities, including concierge service, a pool, a pretty decent gym, activities room, so on and so forth. Because of this, rent is a premium. You pay more than the average apartment in the area. The rent was worth it for some time, but no longer does it seem the case. There has been so much turnover in staff since Central opened, including a year or so with a disastrously lazy property manager who crushed any type of standards for quality. Under his rule, community events were fewer and fewer. Rules were no longer enforced; people frequently smoke cigarettes in the halls, leave smelly poultry innards strewn in the trash room, and violate quiet hours with no resistance. The walls here are incredibly thin thanks to the buildings shoddy construction, so noise is iffy even at best. False fire alarms go off CONSTANTLY, sometimes at 3 am, but management shows no signs of caring. There was a fire here that forced several people to move out of their apartments and had common spaces condemned for months. COVID has finally exposed Central for what it is. The things we pay for, the amenities, have been unavailable since the start. Fine; you have to comply with county code, I get it. But Central has shown no interest in providing discounts, alternatives to amenities, or really any other incentive for paying the exorbitantly high rent. I can only recommend living here to you if you do it for a year or less, perhaps if you're waiting for a house to be built and just want somewhere with easy convenience. Even then, I think you could find better nearby. Otherwise, this place is a noisy waste of money. read more

Do not rent here- You've been warned 1. Noise- I can hear my upstairs neighbor foot steps, my upstair neighbor baby crying, Upstairs vacuum , weights dropping in the gym( under me) and other sounds. 2. Fees- A fee is charged to pay online if you do not setup reoccurring payments. They will try to charge you for " normal wear and tear" of the apartment after moving out. This is illegal so know your rights. 3. Loading dock is not by the elevator, one has to maneuver down the hallways to get to the elevator. 4. There is only 5-6 Guest Parking spot for the entire building. 5. Roaches 6. The worst leasing and management company. Read your lease and follow it to the T. If you have questions refer to your lease, not the leasing office. I do not recommend living here. I am counting down the days till I leave this apartment. read more

Hello Central, am so sorry for my grammar and my mistakes, overall this apartment is complex and perfect for people who love peace, and three family member families, also if you want to have food it is plenty of fast food places in the upper of silver spring, Chick-fil-a, chipotle, sweet green, they also have one more fast food place called fuddruckers but it sadly closed down, that is my opinion about Central. read more

We have lived at Central for almost a year, and has been my favorite living situation in the DC area so far! The building is in a great location across the street from the Whole Foods/downtown area and backing up to a neighborhood. The metro is an easy 10-15 minute walk. The building has a great gym. There are 2 full squat racks and plenty of cardio equipment. There is a pool, library, and a great common room with a pool table and outdoor kitchen. The apartment itself is cute and modern. We weirdly only have sound issues above us, but not laterally or below? It isn't a huge deal and has never woken me up. I expect a certain level of noise when living in an apartment. We rented an apartment on the backside of the building so we barely hear street traffic. Our apartment came with a giant island which is a gamer changer for counter space. Management has been easy to work with and are always friendly. Rena, Kevin, and Anthony have all been helpful- especially during the pandemic. The front desk staff has also been fantastic! After reading some of the other reviews, I think you just need to set your mind that you are in an apartment with other renters. Yes, there will be noise and other people doing annoying things sometimes, but this is pretty universal to any living situation I have had in past apartments. Also the price is a little high for the area, but it was the nicest building we toured and is still less expensive than many of the options in NOVA, Bethesda, or DC. I would definitely recommend this building, and have enjoyed our time at Central! read more

I absolutely, 100% made the right decision to live at Central when I was looking for an apartment. I am always greeted at the concierge desk by Lauren, Christine or Audrey who are always friendly and ready to help. Rena was instrumental is speaking with me about the area and helping me get settled in a new state. Any maintenance issues I had were professionally resolved that same day. I love living here, Central has game night, barbecues, yoga, boot camp, margarita night, food for the residents and many other activities. I feel safe and at home when I walk through the front door of the building. Central certainly is a haven that I call home. read more

The Central is a great apartment complex located in a great location close to downtown silver spring MD. The Central is well managed and the staff are generally very friendly and responsive. The staff at the Central concierge are awesome, especially BeeDee who has gone out of his way several times to make sure that the renters are well taken care off. The Central is a great choice for people looking for an upscale apartment, complex with nice amenities, in the heart of downtown silver spring. read more

My girlfriend and I moved in last month and so far we are really enjoying living here. We have lived in two other buildings in downtown Silver Spring and toured many others and this is by far the best. The management has been excellent - both Isabella and Lauren have been responsive and kind. The maintenance team is also great - both Angel and Abasse are friendly and helpful; they even offered to help build our furniture and have promptly completed our requests. All of the concierges have been friendly and helpful as well. The building offers great amenities such as outdoor terraces and well kept pool. The gym offers a lot of equipment I have not found in other apartments. The location is also superb - it's steps away from Whole Foods, the metro, parks, and restaurants. The apartment itself has a great layout, modern appliances, tall ceilings, and large windows. read more

Ive been living at the central since 2017. The location is great its right in the heart of downtown Silver Spring. The amenities are amazing, the terrace are beautiful and have grills. The property is very well taken care of, the maintenance team David, Angel and Abasse is the best very very very friendly and they all go above and beyond. When ever something needs fixing they are good at completing it. The mon-fri concierge staff was the best Amaris brighten up the building, she went above and beyond and was so friendly and genuinely happy. The evening concierge doesn't Alleyah not so friendly, doesn't speak. All in all great building. read more

I was living in New York and got a job offer in Maryland. I had two weeks to find a place, check it out, get approved, sign the paperwork, move in and start work. I spent hours trying to find the perfect place.. and then I found Central. I contacted their leasing department and got a response literally within minutes. Amaris is a sweetheart and extremely personable. She FaceTimed my mom and I and showed us around the place. I was sold! It is absolutely beautiful inside and out. She kept in contact every step of the way and when we came down to see it she made the experience so enjoyable and made me feel so at home. I was thrilled to move in. Keep in mind, this was all in the middle of a pandemic! I've been here since October and still love it just as much as when I first moved in! Very convenient location, the staff are so friendly, such a neighborly community, maintenance is VERY on top of things and in such a timely manner; and last but not least.. it is SO CLEAN. I love all of the amenities they have to offer and I'm so happy I made the right choice. Highly recommend! read more

I lived in Central for 10 months. Management and staff were overall very kind and fair. Common spaces were very well maintained and clean until they were closed due to the virus last month. Location is great. My main complaint was noise issues in the building from neighbors, poor overall construction, and also from a cluster of HVAC units that were located above my unit on the top floor. I developed insomnia issues and went several months with disturbed sleep and health issues because of it. As mentioned, management and staff did their best to fix the issues, but it is important to note that noise is a major issue with this building. read more

I love the look and feel of this property. My fiancé and I will move into Central in June and our experience with the leasing office staff and concierge has been nothing but friendly and accommodating. My fiancé And I have visited about three times to take measures and change our apartment plans. Leasing agent Suzie has been amazing and accommodating and ALWAYS there to answer any question! This is greet customer service that many property managers take for granted. The apartments are modern and spacious. Do your measurements to make sure your things will fit in a particular room, they allow that. (someone left bad review about bedroom space). They have electric charging stations and it's close to grocery stores and downtown silver spring. There is a restaurant opening below and not one but two workout studios! So far nothing but high prays to central! read more

My aging parents recently moved to Central after selling their home of many years for more convenient, centralized apartment living. I cannot tell you what a positive experience it has been for them. The staff is so kind, so responsive and just genuinely caring. I live nearby but there have been times, particularly during the pandemic, when they needed an extra hand with certain tasks that it wasn't safe for me to help with. The Central team is always ready to step in and lend a hand. It's a huge relief to have my parents in such a welcoming, neighborly community, and Pavi and his staff are a huge part of that equation. While downtown Silver Spring and apartment living is a big draw to the young crowd, it's also a great alternative for older people who want the vibrancy and diversity of great people and great facilities. If you are thinking moving your older parents closer to you, Central is a great place to be. read more

Just moved in here, and it is so nice. We were in a really bad situation at another Silver Spring location, and the staff at Central were more than accommodating in helping us move quickly. The building is beautiful with great amenities, but more importantly, the staff is incredible. True professionals, always thinking ahead for you, and always making any correspondence easy, complete, and timely. My fiancé and I are so happy to be here, we trust Bozzuto and what they bring to our lives. Don't over-think it, this is the best place in the area!!! True value, and sign-up perks rock! read more

My boyfriend and I have been living in Central since October and I figured now would be a good time for a review. The moving in process was pretty good and the leasing office and front desk were really helpful and responsive. They allow you to view your apartment to take measurements and pictures as often as you like. We did have one issue with parking but was able to solve it with the manager. They give you nice welcome gifts the day you move in. The building is always clean and I love that we have access to retrieving our packages whenever we can since the front desk is 24/7. The location is also PERFECT! Maintenance is really good and professional, I haven't had any issues. Once you call the front desk, they create a maintenance ticket immediately and you're notified. I'm confused about some of the comments about the safety here, there's someone at the front desk at all hours of the day and I've never seen anything threatening. The front desk is always respectful, for the most part I'm greeted but I don't expect them to say hi to every last person that walks through the door. I'm hoping some of those negative reviews aren't based off someone's race. Overall this is a great place to live, and the staff goes beyond their way to answer questions or help you out. Everyone seems nice. I did recently notice we can hear footsteps from the apartment above us, I kind of expected this since the living rooms aren't carpeted.. but I don't hear much else, the staff here take noises pretty serious. read more

We moved into this building in August and could not be happier with our decision. The facility is gorgeous, beautifully decorated, and has the best amenities (free coffee/ espresso, great gym, awesome outdoor/indoor lounge areas, and great free programs and giveaways for residents). Anytime someone comes to visit they comment on how beautiful the building and apartment are. Our actual apartment space is great and in the unit washer/dryer and dishwasher are a huge plus. It is also a pretty quiet building, which is important to us. The staff have been kind, responsive, and helpful with move-in and any other questions or concerns since then. Rena and the entire staff have truly made us (and our dog!) feel at home. And most importantly, the building is incredibly safe. 10/10! read more

I am convinced that this is by far the best apartment building in Silver Spring! First off, Anthony, my primary lease agent, and Renae rock! They are so professional, so thorough, and were a major factor in my family moving here! We have been here for a week now, and both leasing agents are still helping us become accustomed to our new building. I can't say enough about how I am impressed with them. Laura or Lauren (at Concierge) puts the icing on the cake; always smiling, delightful, and willing to assist! The lobby of this place is beautiful (I'm still trying to figure out how it always is so clean and smells like lemons), and the amenities are all kept nice and new. The gym has a wide variety of equipment and it looks like management actually services the treadmills (no slips on the belts). The common spaces make me feel as though I'm at a JW Marriott Hotel. I have lived in many places to include apartments in the cities of Atlanta, NYC, MIA, and Key West...this apartment building keeps up with the best of them! So excited for this year lease! read more

This has been my worst apartment experience. I have lived here for 6 months and its been nothing but hell. My move in was terrible. On my first day, there was a terrible smell from the vent. I emailed the office to let them know. It took 3 days to attend to my request. I was told that the terrible smell that gave me a headache and thus me having to sleep in a hotel for 2 nights, was not an emergency. After all I pay for rent. Next my car was towed at the parking garage which I pay for monthly. I was late to work and also had to pay to retrieve my car. I tried talking to the property manager and did not get a response. They did not care. After all they get their rent and their paychecks right? Why hold they care about a resident. Then a parcel I received was vandalized and I lost some items. Now the smell from the vent is back again. I just can't seem to get break. I cannot wait until my lease over so I can move out of this hell hole. There is a high turnover. Residents are not happy. Management sucks. The only good thing is that the front desk staff are nice. Do not punish yourself by living here. read more

I have been living here since October and I really love it! The property is beautiful, there are so many outdoor and indoor hangout spots which is really nice. The apartments are beautiful and really well taken care of, the gorgeous windows let in so much light. The concierge is so helpful, polite, and they really pay attention to who comes in and out of the building that really makes me feel safe. The management team are great! They are all super friendly and are always willing to help no matter how many questions you may have. They made moving in a breeze, they are also kind enough to have weekly/ monthly events for residents. I'm happy to call Central home a place where I feel safe and look forward to coming home. read more

I moved into Central in September 2017 when the building first opened, and wrote the first review posted for the community in December 2017 on Yelp, which I'm sure helped to sell the place. I REGRET every word. Management has changed a few times since and I've had several issues that were never resolved in between. The latest incident being a non resident entering the building and using my name to throw a party on the terrace. The individual was allowed into the building on multiple occasions "security hazard", and allowed to plan the event. The individual then attempted to coerce another resident into using the space when plan A fell through. When I asked the Property Manager Pavi why there was no plan in place for these types of situations? and what he planned to do? He advised that if I did not like the building that I could always put in a notice to vacate which would give me 60 days to leave my residence. What!? Each time that I have spoken with Pavi he has talked to me in a very belittling way, he has an extremely nasty attitude. I will no longer recommend Central to anyone I know. This place has turned into a complete s#%t show and I will not be talked down to or not assisted where I pay rent. I plan to move very soon and I hope that more residents come forward. read more

I had the pleasure of staying in Central's guest suite while visiting friends in the building. I must say, the customer service, even as a temporary guest, was incredible. The concierges were friendly and accommodating during every shift. Big smiles and cheerful attitude. The leasing office was awesome too! I had an issue with the key (I'm clumsy) and they quickly came to assist me and show me what to do so I wouldn't lock myself out. The building is clean and smells so good. The guest suite is beautifully decorated and fully stocked with all the hotel needs. If this is how they treat temporary guests, I can't even imagine how the real residents are treated! Highly recommend and will be back for another visit! read more
