I absolutely love living here. It's been about 2 years, but I know people that have been here for 8, 10 and 15 years. The apartments are spacious, clean, and well maintained. Most apartments have plenty of storage space. I'm in a 2/1 and I have a roommate... we can both get around without bothering one another. Aside from rent you have to pay for your own utilities, Internet, and cable (about $60 per person monthly). There is a gym and a laundry mat in the basement. Parking is included for residents. If you have guests, there is an online registration process for them or they can park on the street. There is a pool that is open seasonally. The pool deck is always decorated so nicely, it makes me feel like I'm on vacation. Also, the staff are so incredibly friendly. I'm talking about everyone from the front office to maintenance workers. It's really like family here. The front office will also sign for packages for you, which is super great! There is a diverse group of people that live here in all ways from age, race/ethnicity, marital status, occupation, family size, etc. I love it! The walls are super thick, so you don't hear the neighbors next to us, but since the vents in the kitchen and bathroom run up and down, you do hear your neighbors above and below you slightly, but especially if they are loud... though this isn't horrible and it's not at a level you wouldn't expect. Most of the time it's not even an issue. There is access to public transportation right outside the complex. It's a 15 bus ride to Fort Toten Metro station, and 20 min ride to downtown Silver Spring. For UMD students, it's a 10 min walk to the 108 Aldephi UMD bus, which is a 15 min bus ride. If you drive, it's about a 10-15 minute drive to campus depending on traffic and red lights.
Oh and bonus, if you live here they host an annual pool party and holiday party for residents to create a sense of community. :)
Move here if you are a wonderful person, k? Thanks! read more
