Their Renaissance hybrid trim paint is hard to beat, their Super II Eggshell world class, and I love the performance of their SharkSkin deck stains. The new MultiMaster is proving to be a genuine commercial grade coating technology, fully waterborne with no blocking. The staff at the Langford location perform colour matching well and seem knowledgeable about most of the products they sell. I've had a few inconsistencies over the years and orders not ready after phoning them in, etc., but the reality is, I want to support local and I want to support Canadian where possible, with Cloverdale product being worth any mild frustrations.

After I waited for a week for them to get it in, when I got home and opened it up it wasn't even the right stuff. So I drove back to the store to return it. They said it would take Another 2 weeks for them to get the correct product in. The gentleman told me it would take a couple hours for my refund to be back in my account three days later still no refund. I ended up finding the product at E&E Llumber or $100 cheaper.

Easy to peruse and select colors. Big displays of all the latest painting supplies that include anything you might need for your paint project. Lots of inspirational pamphlets with photos to prompt possibilities for your color transformations. Very knowledgeable staff offers good advice on any paint project. I selected a color and they prepared a half-pint sample so I can paint it on my wall to see how it looks!

The biggest fear was picking the "right" colors. There are just too many colors to choose from. Also, most people, like me, do not know how different colors work (intuitively or theoretically). So, I just didn't know where to begin! That said, I walked in here without knowing ANYTHING (other than wanting to repaint the exterior). Casey was amazing. She listened to me carefully (although I was not very much of help as I didn't know what I wanted myself). She picked out a couple of brochures and directed me to this very useful binder "Color Inspiration and Ideas," which shows you common color combinations (see my photos). They have a very spacious showroom. I just sat there and went through the binder, picking out combinations I liked and excluding ones I didn't like. While I was studying the binder, she checked on me a couple times but she gave me the "space" I needed. She also directed me to the Benjamin Moore website to try out the color combinations I liked online. This is an amazing tool. You can upload a picture of your house and try out different colors on your house (and it's free)! After trying out many different combinations of colors online, I came in here again to look at the colors I liked. I was able to pick up some paint swatches to bring home. The lady who helped me was very pleasant and was able to find the colors I wanted quickly. I'd thought I would need Photoshop to "virtually" paint my house to see how it would look, but, thanks to Casey, I was able to do it for free on the Benjamin Moore webpage ("Personal Color Viewer"). So far, this potentially scary project has been very pleasant. In fact, I have learned a lot thanks to Stockton's Paint!

This store is a life saver!…read more We are contractors and had a job on Orcas Island. We had never been to Orcas before and were unfamiliar with the area. Before we set out for the island, I looked up local hardware stores (just in case). I found Island Hardware & Supply, called them to make sure they would have what we MIGHT need, hopped in the truck and got on the ferry. OF COURSE it turned out that we DID need some items, so we set off for the Hardware store. We got lost and ended up at the little hardware store in East Sound - we thought we were at the right store, but they didn't have any of the supplies we needed. We were pretty confused until I found out from a local resident that the little hardware store in East Sound is on North Beach Road, and the big hardware store (Island Hardware) is on West Beach Road. So we hopped back in the truck again, and set out to find Island Hardware. (yes, we got losat again...but eventually figured it out) We were so relieved when we located the store and were able to purchase the supplies we needed, because we were thinking that we would have to get on the ferry and drive to the home depot in Mt Vernon (that would have taken forever). Island Hardware had all the stuff we wanted, lumber, tools, big bolts, lag screws, plumbing supplies etc. They even have a couple of little gas pumps which was handy for us. We had the occassion to go back up to Orcas for round two of the job which was exterior painting. The paint we purchased needed to be re-tinted at the last minute. We remembered that Island Hardware had a paint department and took the buckets of paint to them with our fingers crossed. Even though we didn't buy the paint from them, they happily re-tinted it for us...I thought that was pretty generous and excellent customer service!
