To reviewer Chris J.: I think your rating and review is totally unfair to this business and I'll explain, but I'll let you know I don't know this place and have never been there but I'm leaving a 5 star just to offset your unfair 1 star.
465 for a hitch install is totally reasonable in fact it would likely you cost you more at other places. I have had this done numerous time and I am a full time RVer. Just to install the hitch with no wiring would be in the 300-400 range at any place, feel free to call around. Adding the wiring harness and wiring that in would def cost you close to another 200. My guess is the 350 quote you got was just for hitch install and you asked for additional work which cost you the extra 100.
You mention too that you are thinking of looking at a big purchase and now will not consider them, you may want to think twice about buying an RV if 100 dollars is going to break you to pieces mentally like this. RVing is costly, I am very conservative as a retired accountant and even with my best efforts I always have money issues coming up with my RV, things break, and unless you can fix them yourself, you are gonna have to pay someone. It's extremely hard to get an RV in anywhere for a repair, sometimes the wait list is 3 months.
In summary if your financial margins are this tight that the 120 fair extra work you had done at Central just ruined your day, you should not consider buying an RV or a trailer because it's gonna break you. read more
