When we encountered a problem with our Maytag refrigerator which was still under warranty, this repair service was assigned to come look at the problem. My experience so far with this service has been great. They called this a.m. to remind me they would be at my house between 9 & noon (just like the cable company, huh?). Called again on the way to verify directions to my house. Two technicians arrived and took a look at my ice/water dispenser. The senior technician was puzzled by the problem with the dispenser and said he would order a new circuit board and hoped that would fix the problem. Both of the technicians were polite and they left a company magnet and letter from the company owner on the kitchen counter. Two Saturdays ago I awoke to find a large puddle in my kitchen. Upon further examination I found it was the result of my freezer defrosting overnight. (of course it had to happen overnight) This meant everything in my freezer had to be dealt with quickly. Thank goodness I have a ready supply of people willing to come to a cook-out. Free meat for all!!! But I still had a broken fridge. I dug out the manual and found out that it was still under a limited warranty, so I contacted Frigidaire to find the closest warranty-authorized repair place. There were four of them. Of the four, only two were open on Saturday, and only Central Repair could come out on Monday. The repairman that came out was very nice and very quick. He listened carefully as I explained everything that happened, and he didn't jump to conclusions (From my experience, repairmen love to jump to conclusions). After we talked and he examined the fridge he decided that it needed a new compressor. That was good, because it's covered, but it was bad because they had to order it. It took about a week to come in, which made me learn how much I need a fridge. But I don't hold it against them, because sometimes you can't get parts in quickly. I was impressed that they called to schedule me before it came in. They were concerned that the calendar was filling up and I wouldn't get a spot if we waited till the part came in. Very considerate! I will certainly recommend them to anyone who needs appliance repair. read more

The technician was polite, professional and did a great job of fixing my ice maker quickly. The part came in in 2 days. 2 other companies had been here to fix it, said they had to order the part, charged a service call and were never seen again. Contacted this co as they were listed as approved service technicians for Thermidor, & I had a faulty Thermidor oven. They asked me for the make & serial #, which I read off to them from a note made by my husband. They told me the numbers seemed to be incorrect, so I checked them myself & called back to provide a slightly amended version. On this occasion they weren't interested in taking down the numbers & proposed sending out a service technician. What they DIDN'T tell me that they were going to charge me $95 for the visit, which consisted of the service technician taking down the model & serial # himself! He promised they would call me back the same day or the following morning about repairing the oven, but they didn't. When I called back myself, they told me offhandedly that the parts were no longer available & that I would have to call the co that installed the oven. Since the oven had been installed by a previous owner, this was of no help to me. When I complained about paying them $95 for nothing, they became aggressive & hostile & told me that they HAD informed me of the $95 charge. Then - after putting me on hold for approximately 10 minutes - they connected me with a manager who gave me a telling off for my nerve in complaining about their "service"interrupted me every time I tried to respond & asked me how I could possibly assume that they would come out without charging me. read more

UNBELIEVABLY BAD SERVICE-Comes down fr owner I haven't even had them to my house yet but I will cancel. I would not even give a single star. They were referred to me from Kitchenaid, as my 6 mo old appliance in under warranty, but after concurring with the horrendous reviews from cityserach I will not let them in my house. To be brief: the worst customer service. They could not find my appt when I called to confirm, they called my house asking for directions and said if I did not call back within 5 minuted they would cancel the appt., Several other problems and they still have not even come to my house. When I asked to speak to the manager he was rude, obnoxious and not helpful. I asked to speak to the owner and he said he owned 50%. I told him that it was clear to me now why the company had such terrible service. I am calling kitchenaid to tell them to give me a different company as I can't imagine how bad it will be if they ever make it to my house. read more

We called CRS in order to fix our built-in cabinet microwave. A repairman came out to help us, but was so inept that he couldn't even remove the microwave from the wall. He left without even attempting a repair, leaving us about $95 in the hole with a non-working microwave and some scratched cabinets. We called a different company to help us fix the microwave. Within an hour the new technician had removed the microwave from the wall, located the problem, and fixed it. We then contacted CRS again in order to request a refund from the previous service call. Instead of a polite conversation, the general manager began to shout and refuse to cooperate, then abruptly hung up the phone. CRS is a scam and I do not recommend them to anyone. The sooner they go out of business the better. EDIT: As Rodney said, the first technician did say the microwave was installed incorrectly, but this was not the case. It turned out that the first technician had no idea about some clips that were holding the microwave inside of the cabinet. Rodney claims they did not attempt to remove the microwave to avoid damaging the home, but surrounding cabinetry was scratched. And as another review points out, Mike (GM) is unprofessional and abrasive. There was no foul language. read more

The response was quick but the service was alot to be desired. The service man arrived to fix a vibrating washer. Not very pleasant. 10 minutes later and $95 down the drain, nothing was resolved. All he did was remove the back panel and said he didn't see anything wrong. They later called and said it would be 275 dollars to replace struts. Really? Called a different company and they fixed the problem - adjusted the leveling for $50. Be warned - Central Repair Service Inc. is a rip off. read more

Horrible Service! On the phone I set a 1pm until 4pm window. At 4:15 I called an got voice mail. Ten minutes later I received a call back and I expressed my concerned about them missing the 4pm window end time. He stated I confirmed the night before (via robocall) that the time between 2pm and 5pm. I said fine, 5pm, is he on his way? He went on to say the technician was on his way to another appointment and would be my house after that. I asked he was going to go to a town 20 minutes north of me, fix their problem, and make it my house in 30 minutes? I've waited all afternoon, now they want me wait into the evening and still charge and exorbitant service fee. I said not to bother and called Day's Appliance in Cincinnati. Central Repair Service wastes your time......find someone else. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I had the guy come out to look at my dishwasher because it wouldn't power on. Apparently I needed the light switch on for the dishwasher to work. The guy came in and flipped the light switch and it worked. He charged me 90 for the visit, and 80 for his time spent flicking my light switch on. While he was here I asked him to look at my refrigerator water line only to have him tell me the part is too old (Herrmanns is getting me the part lol). He charged me 40 to look at the fridge. Total bill approx 220. For nothing. I called wanting the 80 fee refunded but the manager told me time was spent flipping my light switch on and turning the dishwasher on and seeing if it drained so the charge stood. To be fair, he did credit me the 40 refrigerator fee. They were recommended to me by HHGregg who I have called and told them what happened and they were apologetic. In this day you'd think central repair would want to get and keep customers. However apparently they don't want my future business because they weren't willing to reverse the fee. I felt taken advantage of. I actually had contractors here and they were incredulous I paid the guy. Now Herrmanns services are amazing. If anyone needs a plumber or electrician call them. They are wonderful and fair. I needed a gas line run and it was going to be 1600. So I said do it. Well an hour into it the guy told me they would have to cut into my basement ceiling. So I would be looking at additional cost to repair drywall. I told him to forget it. He said fine, some I asked what the fee was because he was here for a few hours figuring the gas line placement. His response was "I didn't actually do anything so no fee". He did say they may end up charging 79 for their time but I have not seen a bill yet. Now that is excellent service. I will call them again and recommend them to anyone. Central repair, no way! read more

We have a warranty contract with Central Repair. They came out and looked at the washing machine and confirmed it was the bearings and under warranty but needed to order parts. The parts were to be in on Jan 10. Despite at least 5 calls to them, they refuse to respond. read more
